No matter what anyone says, or who his music sounds like, owen still has a heck of a lot of talent. I just saw him at Pitchfork. Poor guy was nervous as heck on stage. I don't think he'd ever played in front of that many people before (around 20,000). He still did an awesome job. Great skill, great voice, great music. Love it!

I watched Andrew Bird in concert a week or so ago at the Greek Theater, so I'm probably not being fair when I say that I like Andrew Bird more. He may be more talented because he plays such a multitude of instruments, but Owen is quite different from Andrew Bird in musical style; the tone of the songs are quite different as well. Besides, Andrew Bird doesn't cover pop songs.

Andrew Bird is great, but believe me, Owen Pallet has some real talent. They both do the violin loop pedal thing, but that doesn't mean his attempt at it isn't without merit (KT Tunstall does too btw).

Last year he won the Polaris Prize and he's recorded with some great bands; Arctic Monkeys, Stars, Hidden Cameras, Arcade Fire...

I saw him in concert three years ago to a sold out crowd of approx 1300. Amazing!

He also donates all the income from European tv ads to Doctors Without Borders.
