SY played this in Oakland and I looked at the crowd during the freak out moment. When the band jumped right back into that awesome groove, the whole crown went "Whoa!"
Sonic Youth says*watch: Money as Debt, Freedom to Fascism, Ring of Power, 911 mysteries, Vibration Creates Form, Behold a Pale Horse, 2012 Enigma, Esoteric Agenda, Jim Marrs the 4th Reich, American Drug War Americas Last White Hope, The Polarity Matrix Field, Graham Hancock - Quest for the Lost Civilization, Michael Tsarion - Architects of Control Program, The Celestine Prophecy, Agenda 21 For Dummies, Rik Clay & 2012- RIP, Fluoride Deception, Indigenous Native American Prophecy. Thx!!!
This song is so fuckin awesome! I wish mainstream people would listen to this instead of the JLS, Justin Bieber bollocks. Or at least get this into the charts :-)
actually to clarify further, even after 1000 leaves, SYR1, 2, and 3 were made and those records contain some of the best music ever made on this planet, although its strictly instumental IIRC.
lol if you like this you should listen to the first five albums they made cuz they ALL rocked about 20 times harder than this . this is one of their better new songs for sure though, i'm not hating on it. SY fell off with 1000 leaves an never really came back (ghosts and flowers has maybe one good song on it), now their sound is watered down derivative of the grateful dead and gybe. compared to the LEGENDARY material they recorded eariler, why bother with any of this stuff imo.
I don't understand people who love Sonic Youth and can't apperciate the beauty of Murray Street or acknowledge the greatness of a few songs on The Eternal. Malibu Gas Station rocks just as hard as Teenage Riot imo.
"...derivative of the grateful dead and gybe."
I don't know man that sounds as silly as someone saying they were derivative of The Velvet Underground.
Orgasmic song.

This song, Sacred Trickster, and No Way are the best on the Eternal.

@TightboneMaster No! Then it would be utterly destroyed! I think good songs are the ones that remain untouched from any mainstream tornado.

@MyScarletFall I see yout point, as this would be probably be remixed with some shite nowadays!!!

Woot Reppin' SYR 1. That record is pretty fucking awesome. SYR 2 rules as well. I kinda forget what SYR 3 sounded like though.
Also did they do The Ineffable Me first then make the first track of SYR 2 or was it the other way around?

I disagree. Their new stuff is equally good as compared to the old; it's just different.
