good lyrics, great concept for a song.. but im a little confused.. tooth and nail's overall recording quality has improved LOTS over the past few years (just listen to the new TFK or Sent by Ravens songs) but for some reason this song doesn't sound polished.. she's a hair flat or sharp in places that should be tweaked in the studio.. did they change producers? I'm just curious because especially on their unbreakable album, they sounded pretty darn perfect.. oh well, regardless it's still good

In terms of their skill, I really don't care if they are Christian. They don't deserve to be hampered by the negative stereotypes attached to that label. Actually, Red, Fireflight, and Theocracy deserve more recognition. This is coming from an agnostic, who is a huge fan of bands like Nightwish, Within Temptation, Epica, Delain, Evanescence, Kamelot, etc.

@Robo121694 Not necessary, I believe this relates to the believer`s experience. At times we feel that God has forsaken us cause we don`t feel Him, but we can`t go by feelings but by revelations. This song expresses how many people feel when they are going through tribulations.

I think the line "How can you turn your back on me..." is referring to how we feel sometimes. Even the greatest "pillars of faith" like Spurgeon, Lewis, Graham, etc... have felt times where they've wondered if God is really there. We all have a little bit of doubt. It'll never leave till we hit heaven.
