@bobbyjac1 Hi, Thanks for the post. We are over here in the UK so we get all our stuff from Garden Railway shows and shops or sometimes online. Thanks for the nice comments about our garden railway and garden. We are very lucky to have such a nice garden and the time to play trains. Hope you keep watching!
@warriorgleek444 Hi, Thanks for the post. The Bachmann large scale Thomas series are really well made and will easily take the normal family use by little ones and us older ones as well. We always lock them safety away every time we run so they don't get left outside. We did leave Thomas and Percy out in the snow over night for our video 'Snow Fall' and they were fine. Hope this helps. Keep watching!
the camera angles in this is amazing!! i'm not a huge fan of the CGI faces but your garden and the models look like your really on the island of sodor!!
@KappaMikeyGuanofan12 Hi, Thanks for the post and the nice comment. We have great fun making these little videos. Our garden railway is loosely based on a North American mountain railway but it does for Sodor when we run our Thomas stock. We have just finished our video tribute to 'Back to the Future' so hope you keep looking out for it soon. Keep watching!
@54322prince Hi, Thanks for the post. We usually meet up most weeks in the summer and then decide what to film next. Our Bachmann large scale Thomas locos work fine outside in the garden so one thing usually leads to another. Hope you keep watching!
@byrnz35 Hi, Thanks for the great comment. We had fantastic fun making this video. It's very cold and icy on Pine Tree at the moment but I guess we shall be making more Thomas videos soon. Keep watching!
@djsreview Hi, Thanks for the nice comment and glad you enjoyed watching 'James in Trouble.' We haven't made any new Thomas videos for some time now. We don't meet up over the Winter months so hope you keep looking out for us in 2012 as I guess there will be some new videos soon.
@Percyfan1991 Hi, Thanks for the post. It's an ant but ants don't jump. The reason it looked like he jumped in the video was that we cut the video to make Percy move off quicker. Well done for spotting him. We only noticed after we uploaded it on the YouTube. There are always little mistakes or continuity errors in our videos that we only spot later. It's all part of the fun. Hope you keep watching!
No problem anyways i think i did check him out and he makes really good thomas stories. He sorta sonds like the narrater a little too (please mind my bad spelling lol)
@JaysizzoLOGE Hi, Glad you checked PJTT out. He makes great little videos and is a marvellous narrator. Our little ones love watching his videos. Don't worry about your spelling, we get what you are saying fine! Keep watching!
@JaysizzoLOGE Hi, Thanks for the post. Some folks have great indoor large scale railways. Check out PumpkinJunctionRR on YouTube for some great story videos with Thomas and his Friends and lots of other locos as well.
These are great. I'm collecting the HO Bachman engines, but I don't have a place to run them yet. My childhood HO railway is pretty junky and needs to be scrapped. One day I'll re-start from scratch
@Kooberz Hi, Thanks for the post. Model railways can become a lifelong hobby so always keep your early stuff. It's surprising how retired chaps, like us, still have our first model railway, even 60 years later. Glad you enjoyed watching our little videos which we have great fun making. We shall be uploading a special video on 25th December with some 'behind the scenes' stuff so hope you keep watching!
@ScienceFictionNerd Hi, Thanks for the post. I guess you are right but anything can happen on Pine Tree Junction and usually does. We are posting a special video on 25th December for our second birthday so hope you keep watching out!
@drewgabriel50 Hi, Thanks for the post and glad you like our garden railway. We started to clear the overgrown garden about three years ago but only started our YouTube channel in December 2009. It will be our second birthday on the 25th December when we shall be posting a special video. Hope you get chance to watch.
@viniciushx Hi, Thanks for the post. I agree you can do much more with your locos and trains indoors with HO and it doesn't rain, snow or get lots of leaves and apples on the line. However, it's nice in the Summer and you have a great time trying to make these videos. Hope you keep watching!
@CARSANDSTUFF1 Hi, Thanks for the post. It's no problem when it rains or snows as the trains still run. We have to clear all the leaves and apples from the track but things still work all year around. We are posting a special video on 25th December so hope you get chance to watch.
I've been trying to look for Troublesome Trucks G-Scale freight cars and cannot find them at any retail outlet. Did Bachman stop manufacturing the G-Scale Troublesome Trucks?
@rheneas1959 Hi, Thanks for the post and glad you really like the music. We use Apple's iMovie and Garage Band to make all the music tracks. They are all made up of Apple's music loops, sound effects and real sounds off the video track. They work really well for us so hope you keep watching - and listening!
Hi, Thanks for the post. Thomas and James are just about the same height, with James being just a touch higher. All three Bachmann large scale engines in the Thomas series look great together. We are all waiting for our Emily 4-2-2 to arrive with her very large single driving wheel and tall smokestack. We think she will look fantastic with her shiny dark green paintwork and impressive new green coaches chuffing around Pine Tree Junction. Hope you keep watching!
@honeymade Hi, Thanks for the post. We have made some changes to the Bachmann large scale locos. We have changed the couplers, some of the small bolts on the wheels and added a footplate to James. They are all great locos and run really well. Hope you keep watching!
@JesusBlack14 Hi, Thanks for the post.
@Richman97189 Hi, Thanks for the post. We have thought about adding dialogue to our videos but after some discussion, we have decided to continue with our 'stories without words' genre. Never say never, but these little videos don't take very long to make and fitting pictures to dialogue would take much longer. Our videos are only really made for family and friends but it's great when other folks like watching them as well. Hope you keep watching!
@brother1997 Hi Thanks for the post. There are lots of scales and sizes for model railways. The most popular scales are G gauge, Gauge 1, O gauge, S scale, HO gauge, in Britain OO, TT scale, and N scale. Check out some videos on YouTube as folks seem to run all sizes indoors, even the large scale like ours that run on 45mm track. The smaller the gauge, the more you can fit in to a limited space. OO and HO gauge are probably the most popular indoors. Hope this helps. Keep watching!
@brother1997 Hi, I guess that must have been the very small N scale. You can fit a lot into a small space but the locomotives and rolling stock are very small but can have fantastic detail. The smaller scale are cheaper as well but not that much. Check out things on the web. You can see what things costs. Hope this helps. Keep watching!
@roloboy97 Hi, Thanks for the post. All the Bachmann large scale locos are great little engines and run really well on our garden railway. Percy is 13 inches from coupler to coupler, Thomas is 13.5 inches and James is 23.5 inches from coupler to coupler. Hope this helps.
@fion75 Hi, Thanks for the post. We are over here in the UK but I know our supplier sends stuff overseas. You will need your locos to run on US power. I am sure you could get a supplier near your home. Check the Bachmann website for local suppliers. We buy from Back2Bay6 and Gscaleoline. Hope you get on OK.
@LittleTeddylove1 Hi, Thanks for the post. We think Bachmann are doing Emily next but it will be next year before she arrives. Hope you keep watching!
@LittleTeddylove1 Hi, Thanks for the post. We think Thomas and his Friends look great in large scale and make excellent subjects to film. We have a great time doing all this and do look out for our special birthday video on 25th December.
@LittleTeddylove1 Hi, Thanks for the post. I am sure we shall be getting any new engine that comes out in Bachmann Thomas collection. Not sure what will be next but hope you keep watching out!
@sherri1200 Hi, Thanks for the post. We get our Bachmann trains from a garden railway shop called Back2Bay6 which is a great little shop for all garden railway stuff and the owner Steve, is very helpful.
@lenxlover1 Hi, Thanks for the post and so glad you liked it. We have great fun making these little videos so it's so nice when folks tell us they like watching them. Hope you keep watching more from the Pine Tree Junction Team.
@RedNForcer Hi, Thanks for the post. The music is from Apple's iMovie software. I use Garage Band to edit all the music including adding sound effects. iMovie and Garage Band have lots of music and sound effect loops that you can add together to make up your video sound track. It's really great and very easy to use. Hope you keep watching!
@RedNForcer Hi, Thanks for getting back. No worries. I think Apple commissioned the London Symphony Orchestra for the iMovie music loops but no idea who the composer is. It may well be John Williams. Keep watching!
@thomasandfriends1000 Hi, Thanks for the post. I guess you are right. The Engine Driver should have realised that James would have had difficulty in pulling the overloaded trucks up Pine Tree BanK so should have asked for help. Strange things are always happening on Pine Tree Junction so you will have to look out for more adventures soon. Keep watching!
@PokeMaster134 Hi, Well spotted. Did you notice the ant jumped? Well, he didn't really, I just cut the film to move Percy off quicker. The Aristocraft train engineer radio control system we use to power the track has a two second delay when it reverses the locos. It's done to protect the motors. But when we are editing, I sometime shorten the shot so it looks like the train reverses straight away. There you go. You can't trust anything you see on Pine Tree Junction. Keep watching!
@thomasandfriends1000 Hi, Thanks for the post. I guess that the Pine Tree Junction sidings are full at the moment so we will have to see. Hope you keep watching!
@Digger318 Hi, Thanks for the post. Bachmann's large scale locomotives are all designed to work outside and we have found they work fine in the wet, rain and snow. Their motors are protected and work even after a big rain shower. We keep ours in a very secure brick built building so I don't know how they would get on if you left them outside all the time. The track is made by Peco and will last years. It's very strong and stands up to rain, snow and thick ice. Hope this helps. Keep watching!
@thomasandfriends1000 Hi, Thanks for the post. The green trucks are from Bachmann's large scale Thomas series. They are really good value and work really well. They go well with our live steam locos which are made by Roundhouse Engineering in Doncaster England. We have changed the couplers to fit in with all our other rolling stock. We got them from a great little shop called Back2Bay6. They are really helpful and good value for money. Check them out on the web. Hope this helps. Keep watching!
Hi can i ask how are your engines ran whilst they are outside? because i am thinking about making my own garden railway and i was wondering the best way to run the engines because they will be outside and because of the rain and if you could tell me i would really appreciate it Thank you
@rspike462 Hi, Our Bachmann large scale trains run on 45mm track that is powered by DC. Our track is just one large circuit so all our trains run together at the same time when they are on the track. Our Peco G45 track is powered by a Guagemaster AC/DC power supply unit with an Aristocraft Train Engineer radio control unit. They run in all weathers so no problem with being outside. Hope this helps.
@TheRobin53 Hi, Thanks for the post. We use Apple's Garage Band software to make all our music tracks. You can add sound effects and alter the sound. It's great and works really well. We use iMovie to edit the videos which is very simple to use and you get great results. We shall probably be getting more Thomas and Roundhouse live steam locomotives over the coming months so perhaps we shall have to make some more of our cartoon style buildings for them to visit. Hope you keep watching!
@TrainMaster24 Hi, Thanks for the post. The Bachmann large scale James the Red Engine works really well on our up and down mountain railroad. The Bachmann large scale Thomas series do come in starter sets so folks can run the trains inside or out in the garden. Most folks start with a small train set and then add more as they can. Garden railways are a great hobby and you don't need loads of space. Check things out on the net and see what can be done. Perhaps you will have one some day.
@OneTrueThomasFan Hi, Thanks for the post. Yes - Pine Tree Junction is our garden railway. Its taken us about three years to get to where are are now. We have great fun running our live steam locomotives and making these little videos. We make our Thomas videos for our younger viewers so hope you keep watching!
@trainsandtrek Hi, Thanks for the post. That sounds great. Not sure what Bachmann will do next with the large scale Thomas series. It probably will be 2012 before we see any new engines or trucks, Anyway, lots of new stories for James, Thomas and Percy this year so hope you keep watching Pine Tree junction!
@RobertMProductions Hi, Thanks for the post. It's great that so many folks like our videos and can visit Pine Tree Junction through YouTube. Hope you keep watching!
@MikeD57s Hi, Thanks for the post. Who's our favourite character? Well, I suppose it has to be Thomas. It will be a while before Bachmann release another large scale engine but it would be nice to have a Henry next. I guess we will have to wait until 2012 to see what comes out next. Hope you keep watching!
@Legoworks5 Hi, Thanks for a great comment! We always try to make these little stories as enjoyable for our viewers as we can. Folks seem to like to see really big close ups of the engines and rolling stock and then some fast action shots of the trains charging around the garden. It's great when folks send us comments and tell us what they like about our videos. Hope you keeping watching and commenting!
@65patbill Hi Bill, Good to hear from you. That's a very good way of thinking about our videos. 'Pine Tree Junction at Work.' We try to include big close ups of the locomotives and trucks as well as wide angle shots of the garden around the railway. Folks seem to like to see and hear our Roundhouse live steam engines working hard with their Summerlands chuffers. They also like the moving eyes with the Bachmann large scale Thomas series. Add in a nice little story or theme and there you go!
@SonicToadThomas Hi, Thanks for the comment. It is always great to get nice comments like yours. We have great fun making these little videos so we are very pleased when folks like watching!
hi you really inspired me so i built a 10 meter by 8 meter large scale layout i have a little river a shed and a small lake but it is indoors thanks for the inspiration!
@trainsandtrek Hi, Thanks for the post. It's really great that you have been inspired by our garden railway. Having a hobby is a great thing when you want to just chill out and have some fun. Many folks join a local model railway club like the 16mm Association or G Scale Society here in the UK. Making these little videos just adds to the enjoyment so keep up your channel and remember - it's only for fun!
@TheThomasandedward Hi, Thanks for the post. All four grey trucks have real sandstone in them so they are very heavy. The green trucks have little bags of flour so they aren't so heavy at all. Keep watching!
@zatchHBK85 Hi, Thanks for the post. Our live steam locomotives are powered by burning butane gas to boil water and make steam which then powers to cylinders and drives the wheels. Our Bachmann large scale locos are driven by low voltage electricity through the tracks. The power to the tracks is radio controlled so you can stop and start them from anywhere around the garden. We have fitted an on/off switch to Thomas, Percy and James so we can park them up and turn them off while we film.
@matt814211 Hi, Thanks for the post. Glad you liked the video. The track on Pine Tree Junction needs cleaning after the long winter we have had here in the UK. All our electric locos are track powered so both the wheels and the track needs to be clean. Sometime, the locos get stuck running over the switches but they usually sort themselves out in the end. As long as you keep the track clean and free of twigs and leaves they work really well.
@Zorran202 Hi, Thanks for the post. I guess James is never going to win on Pine Tree Junction. He thinks he should only be doing the nice work, like pulling coaches, but I guess he will have to stand in line with Thomas and Percy so hope you keep watching!
@TheTazzmo94 Hi, I guess all our regular viewers were expecting another crash or disaster. These things seem to happen all the time on Pine Tree Junction but there you go. Hope you keep watching!
@StabelyUnstable Hi, Just so. There's no shame in asking for help when you are in trouble. I guess James will be in lots of trouble over the next few videos so hope you keep watching!
@thehellmantrain Hi, Thanks for this. I see you and your Dad are members of Willow Creek RR. It looks a great little railroad. I guess you are both fans of anything to do with railways. The Bachmann large scale Thomas locos are great fun to have running around the garden. We shall be uploading some more Thomas videos soon so hope you keep watching!
@pennyf9 Hi, Thanks for the post. Yes - we now have all three Bachmann large scale locomotives in the Thomas range. I think Edward would be a good loco for Bachmann to make next. They could use Percy's motor and it he would work on 3 ft curves. Anyway, it wouldn't be for at least eighteen months so we will all have to wait and see. Keep watching!
@spyfox14 Hi, Thanks for the post. Glad you liked it. It is quite a challenge to tell a story in just pictures and music but the more videos we do, the more we learn. All the comments we get are fantastic as they help us in deciding what to do next and how to do it. Folks seem to like fast moving stories with some expectation and action. It's quite a challenge to get our locos to do as they are told but we can always do another take when it doesn't work out. Live TV would be impossible!
@JamesBondsSkyline Hi, Thanks for the great comment. Glad you liked the video. We meet most weeks but don't always do a video. Some videos are now taking us three weeks to do. Anyway, thanks for watching and commenting, it makes all the difference. Keep watching!
@penninefilms Hi, Yes. All the buildings are home/scratch made from treated pine wood, glued, screwed and with three coasts of exterior paint. Each roof is made from unglazed quarry tiles so they will stand up to all weathers, including hard frost. We like bright colours so we use red, green and Oxford blue paint. We like to think they are like 'cartoon' buildings, based loosely on North American mountain railroad buildings of the early 1900s. Not to everyone's taste, but there you go!
@thomasmodelmaster Hi, Thanks for this. All our wooden buildings are very simple to make. They are just wooden box constructions that are screwed and glued together. You could make them in any size so would be fine for OO/HO gauge. Start with a simple box station using some scrap wood. Use PVA glue and pin or screw it together. A few simple DIY tools will do and get someone to help you first. Everyone has to start somewhere but be careful when using a saw or hand drill. Safety first!!!!!!
@cactus190706 Hi, Thanks for the great comment. We really like it when our viewers enjoying watching our little stories. It's great fun coming up with the ideas and then going out in the garden to make them all work. We have to think if folks will get the story without any words, but it seems to work OK. Keep it simple - that's the trick. Hope you keep watching!
@howarth004 Hi, Thanks for the post. We filmed and edited this all in one day as the weather was nice and sunny yesterday. We have used the same music for the last three 'James' videos, but it seems to work - like a mini series. Having three locos in the large scale Thomas set gives us the chance to do lots more stories so hope you keep watching over the next few months!
@TheBlueE2 Hi, Thanks for the post. Good to hear from you! Glad you like our new story and some new camera angles around the garden. We are always trying to do new things for our YouTube audience. It's surprising how we keep finding new ways of looking at things. The shot at 2.05 was taken from the camera on the large tripod with the train going between the legs. We use a small tripod for some of the close up shots. The very low shots are taken from ground level. Hope you keep watching!
My grandson Adam (eighteen months) watched the video right through three times in a row, so I guess he liked it! Judging by his reaction James the Red Engine was his favourite, although Percy got a special smile, so I guess we'll have to wait until he talks to find out for sure who he likes best.
@BasicModelling Hi,Thanks for the post.I guess the motto for Pine Tree Junction would be - One Thing Always Leads to Another - The story line was down to Engineer Watkin, who is getting an expert on 3 minute garden railway stories without words. We now have a proper shooting script, with clear instructions on which points (switches) to open and close and when. We manage to stick to the script most of the time, unless the technical or health and safety officers intervene! Keep watching!
@Henryfan3 Hi, Thanks for the comment. Yes - I agree. I can see he is going to be a difficult engine so we will have to watch his behaviour. Thomas and Percy got on so well together, but the arrival of James has upset the Engine Shed. I am sure we shall see more problems ahead. Hope you keep watching!
@TrainzFanNumber1 Hi, Thanks for the post. The wheels really did spin as that part of the track is very steep. It took Thomas and Percy to 'bank' him up the hill which made for a good little story with lots going on. Hope you keep watching!
@thomas5070 Hi, Thanks for the comment. We think James is great as well and is a big hit with our younger YouTube viewers. Our last two James videos have been the fastest climbers yet so hope folks enjoy this one as well. Hope you keep watching!
@therailwayinspector3 Hi, Thanks for the post. The arrival of James the Red Engine on Pine Tree Junction has certainly made an impact. I guess he will be getting into lots of trouble with Thomas and Percy sorting him out in the end. He pulls well and looks great in his bright red paint. We have fitted an on/off button to each of the locos so they can park up and wait for each other to go by. James also has a reversing switch which is handy when they are all track powered. Keep watching!
where did you get the train set it is VERY neat !!!!!!! and it is beautiful in your back yard

@PinTreeJunction i love your vids but might i suggest adding dialouge
Richman97189 5 months ago
@Richman97189 Hi, Thanks for the post. We have thought about adding dialogue to our videos but after some discussion, we have decided to continue with our 'stories without words' genre. Never say never, but these little videos don't take very long to make and fitting pictures to dialogue would take much longer. Our videos are only really made for family and friends but it's great when other folks like watching them as well. Hope you keep watching!

what is the smallest train size? and what size do u suggest for inside use?
brother1997 5 months ago
@brother1997 Hi Thanks for the post. There are lots of scales and sizes for model railways. The most popular scales are G gauge, Gauge 1, O gauge, S scale, HO gauge, in Britain OO, TT scale, and N scale. Check out some videos on YouTube as folks seem to run all sizes indoors, even the large scale like ours that run on 45mm track. The smaller the gauge, the more you can fit in to a limited space. OO and HO gauge are probably the most popular indoors. Hope this helps. Keep watching!
PineTreeJunction 5 months ago
@PineTreeJunction ok thanks.I have seen sets on coffee tables, what scale size is that?
brother1997 5 months ago
@brother1997 Hi, I guess that must have been the very small N scale. You can fit a lot into a small space but the locomotives and rolling stock are very small but can have fantastic detail. The smaller scale are cheaper as well but not that much. Check out things on the web. You can see what things costs. Hope this helps. Keep watching!

how many inches long is thomas james and percy?
roloboy97 5 months ago
@roloboy97 Hi, Thanks for the post. All the Bachmann large scale locos are great little engines and run really well on our garden railway. Percy is 13 inches from coupler to coupler, Thomas is 13.5 inches and James is 23.5 inches from coupler to coupler. Hope this helps.

@PineTreeJunction thank you im try to decide to buy the smaller range of thomas and friends and the large scale

I would love to get the upscale train for my son..could you please let me know where I can get them. thank you
fion75 6 months ago
@fion75 Hi, Thanks for the post. We are over here in the UK but I know our supplier sends stuff overseas. You will need your locos to run on US power. I am sure you could get a supplier near your home. Check the Bachmann website for local suppliers. We buy from Back2Bay6 and Gscaleoline. Hope you get on OK.

@LittleTeddylove1 Hi, Thanks for the post. We think Thomas and his Friends look great in large scale and make excellent subjects to film. We have a great time doing all this and do look out for our special birthday video on 25th December.

I thought i heard that music from somewhere, but where?
RedNForcer 7 months ago
@RedNForcer Hi, Thanks for the post. The music is from Apple's iMovie software. I use Garage Band to edit all the music including adding sound effects. iMovie and Garage Band have lots of music and sound effect loops that you can add together to make up your video sound track. It's really great and very easy to use. Hope you keep watching!
PineTreeJunction 7 months ago
@PineTreeJunction Thanks, and forgive me,I thought it sounded like John Williams work,or someyhing you would hear out of childhood films.
RedNForcer 7 months ago
@RedNForcer Hi, Thanks for getting back. No worries. I think Apple commissioned the London Symphony Orchestra for the iMovie music loops but no idea who the composer is. It may well be John Williams. Keep watching!

question: do you think james could have had help from the start? then he wouldn't have struggled to pull the six fully loaded trucks
thomasandfriends1000 7 months ago
@thomasandfriends1000 Hi, Thanks for the post. I guess you are right. The Engine Driver should have realised that James would have had difficulty in pulling the overloaded trucks up Pine Tree BanK so should have asked for help. Strange things are always happening on Pine Tree Junction so you will have to look out for more adventures soon. Keep watching!

I saw ants at 0:20
PokeMaster134 8 months ago
@PokeMaster134 Hi, Well spotted. Did you notice the ant jumped? Well, he didn't really, I just cut the film to move Percy off quicker. The Aristocraft train engineer radio control system we use to power the track has a two second delay when it reverses the locos. It's done to protect the motors. But when we are editing, I sometime shorten the shot so it looks like the train reverses straight away. There you go. You can't trust anything you see on Pine Tree Junction. Keep watching!

what happens when it rains or snows? i mean the circuits or the motors?
Digger318 8 months ago
@Digger318 Hi, Thanks for the post. Bachmann's large scale locomotives are all designed to work outside and we have found they work fine in the wet, rain and snow. Their motors are protected and work even after a big rain shower. We keep ours in a very secure brick built building so I don't know how they would get on if you left them outside all the time. The track is made by Peco and will last years. It's very strong and stands up to rain, snow and thick ice. Hope this helps. Keep watching!
PineTreeJunction 8 months ago
where did you get those green trucks?
thomasandfriends1000 8 months ago
@thomasandfriends1000 Hi, Thanks for the post. The green trucks are from Bachmann's large scale Thomas series. They are really good value and work really well. They go well with our live steam locos which are made by Roundhouse Engineering in Doncaster England. We have changed the couplers to fit in with all our other rolling stock. We got them from a great little shop called Back2Bay6. They are really helpful and good value for money. Check them out on the web. Hope this helps. Keep watching!
PineTreeJunction 8 months ago
Hi can i ask how are your engines ran whilst they are outside? because i am thinking about making my own garden railway and i was wondering the best way to run the engines because they will be outside and because of the rain and if you could tell me i would really appreciate it Thank you
rspike462 8 months ago
@rspike462 Hi, Our Bachmann large scale trains run on 45mm track that is powered by DC. Our track is just one large circuit so all our trains run together at the same time when they are on the track. Our Peco G45 track is powered by a Guagemaster AC/DC power supply unit with an Aristocraft Train Engineer radio control unit. They run in all weathers so no problem with being outside. Hope this helps.

You should probably expand your railway into a designated "Thomas" area as there become more Thomas models. Also, beautiful music, who makes it?
TheRobin53 10 months ago
@TheRobin53 Hi, Thanks for the post. We use Apple's Garage Band software to make all our music tracks. You can add sound effects and alter the sound. It's great and works really well. We use iMovie to edit the videos which is very simple to use and you get great results. We shall probably be getting more Thomas and Roundhouse live steam locomotives over the coming months so perhaps we shall have to make some more of our cartoon style buildings for them to visit. Hope you keep watching!

wow! James looks very nice in G! Too bad I havent room for a G gauge layout!
TrainMaster24 10 months ago
@TrainMaster24 Hi, Thanks for the post. The Bachmann large scale James the Red Engine works really well on our up and down mountain railroad. The Bachmann large scale Thomas series do come in starter sets so folks can run the trains inside or out in the garden. Most folks start with a small train set and then add more as they can. Garden railways are a great hobby and you don't need loads of space. Check things out on the net and see what can be done. Perhaps you will have one some day.

@MikeD57s Hi, Thanks for the post. Who's our favourite character? Well, I suppose it has to be Thomas. @Legoworks5 Hi, Thanks for a great comment! We always try to make these little stories as enjoyable for our viewers as we can. 65patbill 11 months ago

@PineTreeJunction ?
How do u power these trains and where do u get them
zatchHBK85 11 months ago
@zatchHBK85 Hi, Thanks for the post. Our live steam locomotives are powered by burning butane gas to boil water and make steam which then powers to cylinders and drives the wheels. Our Bachmann large scale locos are driven by low voltage electricity through the tracks. The power to the tracks is radio controlled so you can stop and start them from anywhere around the garden. We have fitted an on/off switch to Thomas, Percy and James so we can park them up and turn them off while we film.

Very nice job, another great video. Just one observation I found that Thomas is a bit jerky when he is coupling to his coaches in 0:32.
matt814211 11 months ago
@matt814211 Hi, Thanks for the post. Glad you liked the video. The track on Pine Tree Junction needs cleaning after the long winter we have had here in the UK. All our electric locos are track powered so both the wheels and the track needs to be clean. Sometime, the locos get stuck running over the switches but they usually sort themselves out in the end. As long as you keep the track clean and free of twigs and leaves they work really well.
Hope you keep watching!

PineTreeJunction 11 months ago
outstanding! love it man! You got all 3 engines! Question, who do you think Bachmann should make next in G scale?
pennyf9 11 months ago
@pennyf9 Hi, Thanks for the post. Yes - we now have all three Bachmann large scale locomotives in the Thomas range. I think Edward would be a good loco for Bachmann to make next. They could use Percy's motor and it he would work on 3 ft curves. Anyway, it wouldn't be for at least eighteen months so we will all have to wait and see. Keep watching!
PineTreeJunction 11 months ago
Very well done!!
The thing I like about this is there is no need for a narrator, just alot of good music! :D
spyfox14 11 months ago
@spyfox14 Hi, Thanks for the post. Glad you liked it. It is quite a challenge to tell a story in just pictures and music but the more videos we do, the more we learn. All the comments we get are fantastic as they help us in deciding what to do next and how to do it. Folks seem to like fast moving stories with some expectation and action. It's quite a challenge to get our locos to do as they are told but we can always do another take when it doesn't work out. Live TV would be impossible!

Do you make all the buildings from scratch ?
penninefilms 11 months ago
@penninefilms Hi, Yes. All the buildings are home/scratch made from treated pine wood, glued, screwed and with three coasts of exterior paint. Each roof is made from unglazed quarry tiles so they will stand up to all weathers, including hard frost. We like bright colours so we use red, green and Oxford blue paint. We like to think they are like 'cartoon' buildings, based loosely on North American mountain railroad buildings of the early 1900s. Not to everyone's taste, but there you go!
PineTreeJunction 11 months ago
@PineTreeJunction Please tell me how you made them I don't have Large but I can build it in ho. Will it work?
thomasmodelmaster 11 months ago
@thomasmodelmaster Hi, Thanks for this. All our wooden buildings are very simple to make. They are just wooden box constructions that are screwed and glued together. You could make them in any size so would be fine for OO/HO gauge. Start with a simple box station using some scrap wood. Use PVA glue and pin or screw it together. A few simple DIY tools will do and get someone to help you first. Everyone has to start somewhere but be careful when using a saw or hand drill. Safety first!!!!!!

BasicModelling 11 months ago
@BasicModelling Hi,Thanks for the post.I guess the motto for Pine Tree Junction would be - One Thing Always Leads to Another - The story line was down to Engineer Watkin, who is getting an expert on 3 minute garden railway stories without words. We now have a proper shooting script, with clear instructions on which points (switches) to open and close and when. We manage to stick to the script most of the time, unless the technical or health and safety officers intervene! Keep watching!
