Anthony Dexter came close but he was to one dimensional. The '77 probably would have really pissed Rudy off, with it's gay theme (and Rudy fought, actually got into a fight when it was implied he was gay, risking his health and looks) and this, what is this? This guy is nothing like Rudy. Find somebody that is tough and sensitive, good looking enough and a Great actor & dancer and use some makeup to recreate the look. You got to capture the essence of Rudy, that is the difference
@Kathylouu I agree with everything you said. As for today's crop of actors, Jason Lee comes to mind. He looks like Valentino, although taller, not as athletic and now more than 10 years older than Valentino was when he died. He does have the tough/sensitive thing, though.
I just saw the short film and it is very good. Bellerini does a great job. I also really liked "Daydreams of Rudolph Valentino" but it is very different. I'm just glad that people are trying to keep the memory of Rudy alive.
That guy isn't handsome or dark enough to play Valentino. Not to mention his eyes don't have that lovely soul of his looking out. Personality also would have to be a large factor to portray RV. I don't know of anyone that could pull it off.

James De Bello? Really? This guy resembles Valentino more than anyone out there now. I think its pretty close.

What idiot thought this ferret-face looked like Rudy?! What a farce.

The idea of a smirking Mencken narrating such a story is lame.
The use of Mencken as a movie character offered much more potential and interesting possibilities than this.
Hollywood,par for the course,blew it.

At least they're trying.

There is no other man ever created that could be Valentino. He was and is unequaled to this day.

I agree. This guy is nowhere near close.
A closer, but still a long ways away from Valentino, would be James De Bello.
