Hahaha, me and a mate ride them together around Geelong, looking for some more crew with Posties! Love finding little nooks and shortcuts and scraping the pegs!
@edge24x Yep. From Manheim. If you get a good one, you dont need to do anything to pass the rwc. Check the tyres (plenty of tread), frame (no rust), sprocket and chain, and brakes. To be honest, its pretty hard to fail the RWC with one of these bikes, just make sure you go to a small garage that does motorbike RWC so they dont look too closely.

I'm a CT110 rider in Melb too. Postie bikes are awesome, here's why:
'Cheap': great because there is no-other bike (that will do 80kmph) that can be had for so little. Petrol, spare parts, servicing & yearly rego, everything is CHEAP.
'Casual' means no leathers, just jump on & go. Go to the shop, round to the mates place. Bolt a milk crate on the back & go!
'Fun' because you'll have to try hard to kill yourself on this little bike. When you cant go fast, you relax & enjoy the slower pace...
I'm gettin a postie soon just to get from school to work and home.....any of you guys go on the annual postie run, i have heard it is rediculously expensive? long live the postie!!!
I can see what you mean. I take some of those roads on the way to work on a bigger bike but your ripper 110 is the way to go. Unfortunately I can't really do the multiple bike thing yet. Enjoy!
hello from the USA, hopefully will be getting a ct90 here soon. you aussies and kiwis are pretty hardcore when it comes to posties, lots of good info from you guys! keep it cool blokes!
I know the street in which you started (infact, I'm pretty sure the white merc on your left as you start off belongs to a guy I used to drink with from time to time) an I'm just wondering, was the exceedingly backward way of getting to the Toorak Safeway Liquor, ie going via the backstreets and the boatshed roundabout, solely for the benefit of the video? Could you not have just zipped straight down Toorak Road?
God that looks fun...just bought myself a 1980. It needs some love before I can ride it, but videos like this make me want to tool around Seattle now!
yeah mate, got flogged on the 3rd try at it. little bastards. got new one on insurance. new one is a bit more powerful but. Dude we are riding from steep point wa to byron bay nsw next year if you want to come. We think first or second term holidays? across the desert. you, me brendan oakley, alex wilson, my mate oli and a few more. think about it eh

What's the advantage/difference of a postie bike over any other ordinary bike besides the cost?
Also, would it take me (~60kg's + ~5-10kg's of luggage) to 100km/h to cruise on the freeway safely?
I'm thinking about getting a bike for the uni commute - I don't have a bike licence yet.
