When I took Calculus I back in 1976 I heard and learned just what this professor is saying now. It is not a conspiracy nor is it the government's fault. It is simple math, the amount of time that humans will last on the earth is limited. The unfortunate part is that modern day Republicans and Tea Party members are opposed to education since that often, not always, leads to critical thinking. And as the Catholic Church learned in the knowledge is power or ignorance is bliss.

@Apostle0fLove They said the exact same thing in the 1960. They thought the world would get colder and they thought now we are fucked! JUST LIKE EVERY HUMAN GENERATION! I'm not saying that this is not a problem but ffs it's not amagedon. It's really hard to predict the future it's insane. If people in the year 1900 would have to predict the future with the same computers we use today. They wouldn't be able to predict a shit. Like ww1, ww2, the tecnical advancement etc etc etc.

Department of energy needs to get real! But the need for economic growth is too deeply embedded within the U.S. economy for the DOE to do anything. Bottom line= no alternative energy solutions will allow us to continue econ. growth. We absolutely need clean energy, but we also need a change in our economic growth imperatives and lifestyles too. Even if it means no iphones!!!
