How effective is this approach to treating personality disorders? It doesn't seem like it would work very well? What would Ellis do when he encountered a client with really poor interpersonal relationships...or, more specifically - a personality disorder.

No, but there are multiple videos that go under the name "Albert Ellis Live." That is a live Internet event where users pose questions of Ellis of various topics, although it is not therapy. Also, look for my 3-part YouTube where I individually interview Ellis on topics (e.g., Albert Ellis interview by Jeffrey Guterman), but again, not therapy.
