why is music made for a 5 second combat sequence a minute and a half long? I mean this is awesome, but wasn't there another place to fit in this epicness?
To be honest, I found both Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn to not only have some of the best soundtracks I have heard in a video game, but I also found the dialogue to be far more compellingly written than quite a number of other traditional JRPGs. Just when I thought games of this degree of excellence had been lost to the sands of time, I was blown away in the most pleasant way possible.
@Harkz0r Yeah, Fire Emblem and Legend of Zelda will probably always be the best now. Games these days are just too... I can't even describe it. I mean, I like Call of Duty, but seriously? It should be less than half as popular as it is.
I think everyone usually scrolled through the battle conversations just to listen to the music. I'm probably one of the few that actually read the conversations. I always hoped there might have been valuable information...sometimes there was, sometimes there wasn't.
PoR has the best music, I think. I know it's my favorite music off of any game, and I've played a lot of 'em. XD
Really? Holy crap, same here! Wow! That's different! Though my Ike never died...he was always leveled up too high for the enemy to have any hope of takign him down. ~smirk~
Go Ike! Kick the enemies ass!
XD
Yeah, sometimes the boss says interesting things, sometimes they don't.
But what about in other FE's like FE7? that ones kinda mean, the big bad sage boss in a later level has a conversation with a level 5 mage that you get the chapter before. Its an interesting conversation...but it can also be suicidal.
Scroll through the boss conversations!?!? Why would anyone want to do that? Doesn't matter if the info is of no importance. Fire emblem has some of the best battle/death quotes I've ever seen. It's like reading a good book (emphasis on 'good'). I read every and all conversations even on my 'n'th playthrough!
Path of Radiance's soundtrack really impressed me. This one was one of my favorites. Has anyone else deliberately not scrolled through battle conversations right away just so you could hear more of the song?

This is something that happened to me in the chapter with Jill's father:
*A random wyvern rider flies up to Jill*
*This plays*
Wyvern rider: Traitor!
Jill:...
*Wyvern rider kills Jill*

You're not really risking much when you consider that Ike tanks through everyone in the game.
