@umagrappler the only thing hes taught regularly in the last 10 yrs is a few seminars last year in usa and brazil and some privates.Henry akins and shane rice did most of the teaching at his so called academy and kron when old enough.He actually said some of his own black belts were doing fundamentals wrong,if so then thats his fault.Theyre taking his name off the academy as he never teaches there anymore,its the kron gracie academy now.
Yeah. I train with Craig kukuk The first ever american bjj black belt. He lived in brazil while he was getting his black belt. He said that rickson was bar none the most skilled. He said rickson destroyed everyone at will effortlessly, in fact his exact words were " on a whole different level." And that was a response to my question a few months back when I ask him who the best Gracie was.
Why is there so many videos of rickson on youtube, beating up guys that dont even look like they have a blue belt, and hes wearing a gi, and they arent half the time, and the videos are all from 1985? I wanna see a video of legit black belts rolling with rickson, in the gi, and without, from 2000 or more recent.
@matwizard Rickson is cool enough to roll with everyone that attends his seminars thats why. This was before Gracie Jiu Jitsu was widely known. Alot of those guys in this video are brown and black belts today. Rickson used to go up to the Olympic Wrestling training center in Colorado and destroy everyone there. Do your research. Hes never been tapped by anyone. EVER. I think most black belts recognize him as the best ever.
@neselul Ill be rolling with Fabio Santos tomorrow. Im pretty sure he outranks your instructor and knows more about Jiu Jitsu. Hes one of five red and black belts in the world
@neselul everyone has been tapped sometime even rickson,hes never been tapped in competition though since black belt but did stop competing 23 years ago in grappling though so never faced the best guys
@rctrue i guarantee you he never set foot in the olympic training centre wrestling room,theres no way he would be allowed spar with them in a completely diiferent ruleset when hes not even a wrestler.He hasnt taught in nearly decade apart from some overpriced seminars in which he sparred with nobody.He was the best grappler in his prime though,he doesnt seem too interested anymore though even in teaching.

Rickson is the best grappler...only comparable grapplers I'd say would be Roger Gracie, Marcelo Garcia, Terere, perhaps even Gokor Chivichyan.
but who knows, maybe I'm dead wrong and Rickson would defeat the top ADCC guys with relative ease.
