  • @Kaligur yes he is

  • I hope our two great countries will forever support one another!!God bless France and America

    hello from france

  • " Lafayette we are here ! " Colonel Charles Stanton US army, on Lafayette's tomb the 4 of july 1917.

  • Americans who hate France are those who would rather be under the English crown

  • @daftpara28 Fuck the Crown from a american. I see France as our true mother country!

  • Amerian would never be a country with out France and France would never be a country with out America (world war two)

  • So much love, makes me want to ride a pony into the sunset :3

  • Disgusting. American always speak about how we should thanks them to freed us. We did. You can't count the number of american flags, american cemeteries, in France.

However, when it come to the very birth of US, not a single prop is given to Lafayette and other.

  • @MrStaxxy actually in all our history classes in america and books on the revolution they teach on how american would of never been formed if it wasnt for france lending us money and troops ect ect and i love france for helping us

  • I usually check around youtube comments when i'm high, and it makes me trip out to see trolls jerking off their hatred on every video. But I must say, sometimes, seein' some international lovin' ain't that bad. No homo, but carry on loving. French people and Americans together for the worst and the best, and I swear I'm not crying, it's the smoking getting into my eyes.

  • Considering how poorly the continental army fought early on France being involved benefited the USA more then did France itself. So if any right winger said the continental army could stand on two legs I would tell them do research and then think to yourself what a stupid statement you've made.

  • the reason for the participation of the french army in the american independance is : we hate britains !!!!

  • Great video. I'm English but my ancestor - Captain William Ludwig von Sonntag - was one of the 10,000 troops under the command of Rochambeau. My ancestor was German and he was born in Pforzheim in modern day South West Germany - that was part of King Louis' French Empire at the time of the American Revolutionary War.

  • @RedGoblinus That's awesome many glad he fought for freedom. And glad the US a Baritain became buddies in the end.

  • Let's not let this stupid Irak argument spoil a 200 years friendship !!!

  • the France have saved america !!!!

  • the us flag at De Lafayette's grave was not disturbed by the germans you think they feared something

  • Awesome fuckin video!!!!!!

  • Tres bel Homage a nos Mes Pays..... Merci MON FRERE AMERIQUE

( France is watered with US blood

.USA is watered with french blood.)

" We have two countries : USA and France" ( Thomas Jefferson).

  • This video deserves more views...

  • @France731000 i agree! France and America are Family!

  • Une très belle vidéo qui résume très bien la guerre / A beautiful movie which perfectly summarize the war.

  • US & France : best country alliance ?

  • @imDeeZr I'd say do.

  • thank you !!

  • France <3 América

  • @Maxouest Amerique <3 France

  • @Maxouest haahha tu lui as mis les boules apparament:D

  • God bless America & France!

    Long live their friendship!

  • Vive la France et les Etats-Unis, americans are our friends and ally forever .

  • @XNapoleon1804X VIVE LA FRANCE! DE l'AMERIQUE!. WE ARE FAMILY! VIVE l'EMPEREUR Napoleon!!!

  • I hope you guys know that in US, you went 1 vote away from having french as official language :)

  • Oui! Vive La France! Thank you old freind and ally! An American.

  • France and the United States, FUCK ENGLAND Rosbeef !!

  • @Smibil67 Oui, et Vive la France! De l'Amerique :)

  • @Smibil67 It's what family does :o)

  • USA AA+; France AAA, ahahahah... do you know finance... LOL

  • The Spanish also helped you too ;)

and the Dutch were on the fence trying to make the most money for themselves

  • and we give us the statue of liberty. We are so generous !! =)

  • @samuel90100 Yes Thank you :o)

  • I've never understood anti-americanism in France and anti-french sentiments in America. USA & France are amongst best friends in the international community (despite some differences). It should be celebrated! Both countries owe to one another, as they've both paid the other's freedom with blood.

Oh, and we love you too, United Kingdom ;)

  • @NScott45 because French think equality is more important and USA think it's liberty it's that simple...

  • @NScott45 DEATH TO ANGLO-BARBARIANS

  • @NScott45 26 personne qui sont dans le pays de bisounours!!!

  • merci au Cajun !!! :)

  • LaFayette is still honored today. My county is named after HIM.Their were many other foreigners that helped the US for freedom that are now forgotten.Like Count Casimir Polaski of Poland. He led the Siege of Savannah, Georgia (the state I live in) and was killed. He died for another man's country.Baron Van Steuben trained the Continental Army's cannon regiments for better accuracy.

  • Americans who say France is a weak country are just stupid.

  • long live freedom

  • Americans who say France is a weak country are blinded by a stupid patriotism. In whole military history, France played many times the teacher and USA the student than the opposite. And still today, in therms of military aircraft, there are many coproject between France and the US and believe me, US Army learn every day more on the French technologies like Rafale plane. France also learns on American technology.

  • @91OCB Don't worry, the Americans who hate France or deem France to be a weak country are mainly the uneducated and misinformed. As a whole Americans respect France; though you might contend they little understand how much the USA has been influenced by France. There are however, many of us who realise how important it is to maintain a close relationship with one of the largest and most influencial countries in Europe.

  • "Every man has two countries, his own and France". Isn't that just beautifull?

  • France is the oldest friend of USA in the history. Also dont forget Corsican Constitution was the first codified constitutions of an independent republic in the modern age, Pasquale Paoli wrote the Constitution of the first democratic republic long before USA, many philosophers (including JJRousseau) copied out these documents to show them all over the world including the USA where "the sons of liberty" were inspired by Paoli..US constitution resembles strangely Corsican constitution. Peace<3

  • I am French , and I think that all this blah blah anti French or anti American thing was build up by the medias feeded with urban myths , such as ; American are egocentric , French are unpolite , Americans are obese , French dont shower etc etc...It's boring in the end...There are good and bad everywhere , only stupid people believe in clichés.

  • to the americans who continue to SPIT in the face of the french's and HATE them, history will always be there to remind you what the french's have done to help you gain your independence no matter what. GOD BLESS FRANCE AND GOD BLESS THE USA.

  • @tk291100 Vive la France! De l'Amerique ;o)

  • I hope the USA will always be by the side of FRANCE in all wars, the US owe France an ETERNAL thanks, because France was with her and help her at the very first day of her birth as a nation. the americans can always SPIT on the face of FRANCE but HISTORY will always be there to REMIND that great nation(USA) WITHOUT the french you will be singing GOD SAVE THE QUEEN and DRIVING at the WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD(left side) and having POUND for money. GOD BLESS FRANCE AND GOD BLESS THE USA

  • Longue vie aux états unis d’Amérique !

Longue vie à la France !

Longue vie aux deux prestigieuse républiques !

  • this bad that after the US independance war the frenchs never try to retake the Canada... with his french population (now Quebec) !!!! VIVE LA FRANCE ET VIVE LES ÉTATS-UNIS D'AMÉRIQUE !!!!!

  • this bad that after the US independance war the frenchs never try to retake the Canada... with his french population (now Quebec) !!!! VIVE LA FRANCE ET VIVE LES ÉTATS-UNIS D'AMÉRIQUE !!!!!

  • France is to america what the British is to canada

  • @1988scottcarey not all the Canada.... France is for Quebec ;)

  • @1988scottcarey

Well, the French made Canada from the ground up, as well. The only thing England did, is slaughtering the French and Dutch settlers to take their lands.

  • @1988scottcarey why would you say that?

  • my city was a french colony =p (New Orleans).

  • France Is USA's older brother, sometimes they bicker but they watch out for each other :)

  • I wish current politics and people today realized this point more, France was USA's first ally and friend against the oppression of Britain at that time. I only wish France and USA stayed close friends like this throughout history (Well we have, but not as much as I feel should be explicit).

Just some thoughts from me, thank you for the great video.

  • These jokes about the French being cowards are getting old. Yes France lost in 39 and never truly recovered from the humiliation. But the French kept their ground against Germany in 14-18 in horrendous conditions, kept Indochine longer than the US managed to keep Vietnam, and still control "friendly" African nations better than the US try to control Irak. France just refused to suck Bush circumcized dick and was so right, so get over it.

    And I'm not French.

  • @metalrocks I think American people see France as weak country and they look down us, since our veto in UN against the war in Iraq the ''French Bashing" became more strong in the USA. I remember the US secretary of State Mrs Rice said "we must punish France, ignore Germany and forgive Russia"

many influent senator such as J. Mcain and lot of politicians spit and insult France in their media. they did a strong propaganda against French during the Bush administration. but we don't care....:)

  • @metalrocks21rapsucks seeing from where you come my friend, this is very respectfull and wise from you ! my respects, merci beaucoup! your french neighboor!

  • @metalrocks21rapsucks thank friend :)

  • Half of the colonial army were made of French Calvinists and the other was Scottish Presbyterians.

  • Hey alls , im frenchy and i said Rochambeau and this 10 000 men save usa independance!

BUT the bravoure of the americans militians and soldiers was fantastic.

the americans are arrogants but thy are braves !!us civil war is the fact!

France like us but not Bush !

    Laters alls!

  • At the end of the movie, when Mel Gibson and the French general walk to the top of the hill overlooking the sea, Mel says, "George Washington escaped from the North undetected and surrounded General Cornwallis, who could not retreat to the seas... It was blocked off by our long lost friends, who had finally arrived (France)." Sometimes we forget how important France was to America's freedom. Thank you France, I am eternally grateful. We will remain allies until the end of time. Vive La France!

  • The United States has fought wars against Turkey,Russia,Serbia,Kosovo,Finland,Spain,Italy,Great Briatian and Germany...but NEVER France. You are the oldest friend of the USA and will be the last friend of the USA.

  • @level242 It's not really true, but almost. There is one undeclared war between France and USA, just after the US independance, called the "Quasi-War" from 1798 to 1800. Check it in Wikipedia :)

  • @Baelog Yes, but they was corsair not from the regular French army that why it was call "quasi-war" it's in fact on wikipedia

  • @level242 and i hope forever,

  • @level242

    Well said

  • You frenchies are alright in my book! :D

  • @HeLovesCulture

No need to master the French language to schedule a trip to France, we do it every summer with my daughter (she was born here in the US) and needless to say that we love it very much.

  • @HeLovesCulture

not to worry, I am French living in the US, and I can assure you that the facts of history are still real and on occasion when someone makes an inaccurate statement about the French Army it is because of lack of knowledge and lack of education nothing else. Long live France and the USA.

  • You thats funny b/c France spend more money on the american revolution war than in the 7 years Canadian war.

for instance France send a maximum of 6 000 soldiers to defend Canada.(for a big land)

But for US at that time(a smaller land at that time)France brought a surplus(us had already some soldier at war) of 10 000 soldiers , excluding the fact that the french gave loans, gave guns, and brought more ships to defend US.

They fought harder for a country that was not theres.

  • It make me remember a scene in "the patriot" when mel gibson says "vive la france" and the other "vive la liberté". Une scène très émouvante !

It was a revenge for french who have lost the 7years war.

  • Brittan would not have been able to sustain a long drawn out conflict of guerrilla warfare such as they were facing. You will never be able to win that kind of war no matter how much force you have. France ended the war for America much faster as they put America on a level playing field with the enemy. It was the most beautiful relationship to ever culminate in history at the time. Freedom was a unifying cause for the whole world... God Bless Both Nations for their sacrifices.

  • @HeLovesCulture "the French and the U.S. really have THE MOST in common with all European nations" --> just for one fact, France is the only european country that USA never fought in a war. I think USA have more in common with France than UK. But as a French, I'm often disappointed by the unculture and the stupidity of many Americans, and we rarely hear the bright ones....

  • Well done sir.

  • Vive Le France

  • without France, england would have won. no question

  • @mastercross1 je suis français et I LOVE ENGLAND AND I LOVE FRANCE !!!! vive L UNION !!

  • Keep that patrism alive.

  • French contribution was surely the most important, but don´t forget the spanish contribution! The spanish fought the english in Florida, Georgia and Minorca.

  • The oldest friends of American people are the french. Thanks to all those who helped Americans to get freedom.

  • What a beautiful video. When I was in the US Navy, I visited France many times. I fell in love with the Country and its people. Alas, that was more than 50 years ago, and I have not been back to France. When I was there, there was still a lot of bomb damage fron the war, so I probably would not recognize it today. God, how time flies.

    God Bless You,

    John

  • @tailspin37 May God bless you John. You and our glorious countries!

  • @tailspin37 Thank you for yours words of kindness.

  • Dieu et mon droit. (England colony of France)

  • @ManOWar2Red

  • Keep in mind some of you

Without the French support and aid provided the Americas would very -very- likely not of defeated the British Army forces there, History would of gone a whole different route

At the same time fighting this war and financing it bankrupted France and helped play a huge part in the dissolution and bloody revolution in France against the monarchy, Leading to a whole new set of wars .. And On And On And On . .

    :)

  • Many Americans talk about France and say we are even for WW2. This is ignorance and stubbornness. But many Americans understand history and consider France a great friend. I know that when the time comes we as citizens of our respective nations will fight together and defeat tyranny. Forget what our leaders say or do. We as the people know who our friends are. "Liberty will reign in America!"~John Adams

  • @keepingcommandments

Americans aren't just of English ancestry! Even in the early days your ancestry was fairly MIXED! No one thinks you should hate UK now, but why do you insist that your only friends in Europe are Britsih?

  • @keepingcommandments

So, you haven't learn anything from this video?

  • Eventhough our governments can sometime argue and disagree, governments pass by and vanish in the corridors of time. The people remains.

USA and France are sister nations, the bond is sealed by the blood of those who fell for our common ideals at different stages in time.

    Un Français.

  • J'aime France!!

    Vive la France

  • It is true, our victory was only possilbe with French support, we owe them a debt of gratitude

  • the contribution of the French in the American war of independence= ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING

  • God bless America!

    God bless French Kingdom!

  • TRES BON!

  • I'm so glad there's video like that to show some sensible comments because onYouTube , French and Americans are ALWAYS bashing each other which is excessively irritating. French people are exceedingly chauvinistic and for Americans it's always : we saved your a** in WWII.

Thank God, some French and Americans have brains.

    Chill !

  • We Americans must never forget the debt we owe to France. If it wasn't for the French, we wouldn't have a country.

  • i am from usa and All that anti france stuff started here in usa with bush. F**k bush. God bless christian france.

  • @behathorn jalousy

  • @behathorn Thanks dude!

    Marc Paris

  • @behathorn

thank i am french and I appreciate that an American speak well of France

  • @behathorn Not only Christian France, all of France ;)

  • @etbadaboum Yep France is a laic state, we don't have god written on our money :p

  • @CH13Fpilot The word "laïc" is secular in english mon ami :P

  • @mikaleon nope. "laicité" is one those several french word you cannot really translate in english. Secularisation is only a small part of "laicité". Even the english wikipedia have an entry call "Laïcité".

  • @behathorn This is fucking true, bro' ! Long live to the United States and vive la France !

  • @behathorn

Its good to see there is few americans who dont piss on our flag behind her keyboard.

  • Many Founding Fathers had French Protestant (Huguenot) and Norman French ancestry by way of Britain. President Washington's first immigrant ancestor to Virginia was a French Huguenot, who purchased and owned the land that became Yorktown.

+ God Save Christian France & The Christian USA! :)

  • follow this debate on theworlddebating com international debate website. tell me what you think

  • i do not understand the hostility between french and americans, not saying everyone is but i see it a lot.

  • @OlderG0ds In fact we french, do not have any hostility against usa but since 2003 and bush governement there are lot of rumors saying that french are coward that they never won a war in history that we hate usa etc...wich is totally wrong of course. Now you can't see a video that deals about france or french without comment like "french= fag or coward" here is the problem and it doesn't come from our side

  • I’m French and have been living in America for more than 5 years now, and I DON’T REGRET IT ONE MOMENT. God bless the USA and France!

Peace and love for these two old friends!!!!

  • ''Landed with 10 000 soldiers''

just that alone is enough. Back then this ammount of soldiers was huge in North America. Without theses soldiers, UK troops stationned in Canada near Québec city and Montréal could have had moved on and invade again instead of staying back on theirs position.

USA existence was possible, because of France.

Alone they would have been invaded by an armada of British ships...

  • USA owes more to France in this time period then most Americans today like to admit... As always when France and Britian are at war both nations fought hard and fought well, so many of each countries finest military history has the other as a participant. Have to say I prefer getting along these days though :)

  • Detroit city is really spose to really sound like

    de-tw-ha

  • @captinseperoth And Chicago is said with a french pronounciation.

  • @keepingcommandments england is your mother, France is your father

  • Viva le France!

Do not forget the Statue of Liberty, a gift to the USA from France.

  • yup, France were the very first allies of the USA. they're like friends that have known each other since birth... except that France is much older XD

  • Beau document et montage!

  • The Revolutionary War is presented as an opportunity to erase the disgrace of his defeat in the Indian wars and the loss of its colonies in North America . Britain did not capitulate just because of the defeat at Yorktown. France had done everything to force him to disperse his forces . She attacked the British in India, it was valuable colony , the source of the wealth of Pitt

  • It had also attacked Malta , Menorca won (which was the great British naval base in the Mediterranean, Malta before ) , besieging Gibraltar was on the verge of falling . The France encircled the British West Indies , and maneuvered for months 60,000 men in Britain, ready to land in Britain virtually emptied of troops . The French ships were cruising , flags flying , off Southampton , causing panic on the London Stock

  • @keepingcommandments "France just try to make the US look like un educated fools" - it's quite easy, we dont have to work hard for that. And as for the UK, you're right, they are good at licking USA's arse. They do it professionaly. Keep your puppet, we keep our pride, honour and glory. If we ever need clowns, we'll call you. Promise :D

  • @keepingcommandments

CRETIN,,,Dieu et mon droit,,,,Honni soit qui mal y pense,,,french words for great britain,,,,why?,,Because reat britain was a french colony,,,,it's true it's your history stupid boy

  • France and The United States were, are, and will always be friends.

  • @SETA25, I couldn't agree with you more, my man.

  • Beautiful

  • Did you any of you know that George Washington was the direct descendant of Nicolas Martiau, a Frenchman in the 17th century. That is quite amazing news. I just wonder how French haters will react when they hear that one of their founding fathers has French heritage in him.

  • @expertstrategy

I heard that Obama has a french ancestor too.

  • @expertstrategy

They will probably react as they always do: with bad faith. I wonder how do you know this fact! I had forgotten it myself...
