But i have to agree with you, i seriously doubt they will bring back the RPG mechanics of ME1, i expect it to be even more of a shooter than ME2, but thats what you get when your favorite games go mainstream..

But most critics will agree, ME2 was more fun. It'd rather have a fun shooter then a less-fun RPG.

@PissingPeopleOff1 Well, fun is a matter of taste. I'm an old RPG hound, and while i really enjoyed the shooter elements in ME1 my first choice is always more RPG and less shooter, but hey - to each his own.

I'm so invested in the ME series by now, that even if they somehow make it into an RTS i would still buy, play and finish it no matter what.

@insight1337 Lol, I'd say the opposite is more likely. The fan audience is more likely to be against a movie version. It wouldn't be hard to take the Mass Effect storyline and make a movie series. Though it would have tob e reinvented with a lot of the missions re-worked or completely rewritten or scrapped.

this was the best in game i have ever played. I finishd the game 5 times. It was epic the story was great. I realy liked the sequal, but i was extremly frustrated that ashely or kaiden, wrex and liara did not play a greater role in the game. Furthermor, replacing the importence of the citadel with Omega, dont get me wrong omega was great but i truly missed the citadel. Also at the end of the ME1, it leaves you expecting the conseil playing a greater role in the sequal.

@twiztedreverb I don't know, I liked the 'boring' side quests. A lot of games just throw you into the action, no exposition or story. And developers are always afraid of going five minutes without plot advancement or explosions. But with the mundane parts of Mass Effect, you got a better feel for what life was like in their universe. Without the constant action and story advancement, it felt more like living in the Mass Effect world instead of just playing through it.

Snizo I agree with you 100%. Its by far my favorite videogame of all time. period. It is almost as though you are reading a book. You know what it reminds me of? It reminds of reading those "choose your own adventure" books when i was a kid. The intense scenes and the important decisions i had to make stayed with me long after I stopped playing it. Halo has been around for almost a decade, the canon runs very deep with hundreds of mysteries regarding things like the Forerunners, Precursors etc. Mass Effect is that, but with a greater attention to detail put into the games (as Halo uses the books for canonical expansion).

Overall, I love both games equal. To me they've both conquered the sci-fi genre.
