  • this is ssf2, not turbo.

  • Genesis music is better to me. So, many memories.

  • Damn she got some nice street fighter titties >>>

  • Cammy Sexy

  • Kylie Minoge?

  • Was this song meant to sound a bit like Zangief's theme?

  • God the genesis music is so badddd.

  • @Th3Freak55 Not at all it's just a different sound chip from what you're used to. The Genesis emulates the late 80's arcade games as it was released in 1988, 89 stateside. It has a very wide range where as the SNES has a narrow range with more emphasis on clarity. Many people back then got a Genesis because it sounded and felt more like the arcade and that's what they wanted. All of it's arcade ports are near identical to the originals.

  • @Luigi84289 A different sound chip from what I'm used to? I've been playing video games since the NES days. i know bad video game music when i hear it. The SNES came out only a year after the genesis and it has a far superior sound chip. The Genesis had a unique sound and it took a lot of skill to make it sound good in games like sonic. I mean go listen to the xmen game theme on genesis or sonic spinball options music. That metallic sound is like an electric guitar scraping against a chalkboard.

  • @Th3Freak55 No man the Genesis was released 2 years before the supernes in Japan as well as North America. The Genesis was made to be a home arcade machine. It had a very wide range and put emphasis on the synchopated beats and percussion like arcade machines to pull you into the game. The SNES had a much narrower range but was able to reach a level of clarity the Genesis couldn't. Listen to a comparison.

  • @Th3Freak55 And it was not hard to code for the Genesis it was actually easier because you had a four channel programmable sound generator working in conjunction with the Yamaha 5 channel YM2612. As I stated you are not used to that type of sound. It's like calling the Konami chip made famous with TMNT turtles in time which was currently emulated for the new Castlevania Adventure bad.

  • @Luigi84289 Shut the hell up dumbass. Suck a dick

  • @Th3Freak55 Fuck off troll. You call me a dumbass yet replied just so you could troll me upon my response. Fuckin' Loser.

  • @Luigi84289 It's not trolling if i'm right you idiot. I've been playing video games since before you were born so don't try to teach me about the music. Get those dicks out of your ears and maybe you will be able to hear better

  • Cammy is so hot

  • Yup, cause there's nothing hotter than a blonde Russian female trying to kick your ass in a leotard.

  • I don't usually say this.... but the SNES version is better.

  • This takes me back to the 90s forever.

  • That sexy, 'Streets of Rage' feeling just flowed through the tips of my gamer hands.

    Mesmerized.

  • Super street fighter turbo did come out on the sega I have the game and a old school saga

  • lol cammy was never is street fighter 2 turbo cammy was a new player in street fighter 3

  • @david2draw Turbo version for genesis or SNES never existed, it was "The new challengers" (also known as plain Super Street Fighter 2)

  • I like the Genesis version music better, but the SNES had more buttons, so I liked fighting on that better.

  • @Mcheetah There is a 6-button controller for Genesis.

  • I miss this so much.

  • It was on the Collection

  • Chun Li is overrated. Cammy it's so goddamn sexy.

  • I thought Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo never came out on the Genesis or SNES ?

  • @amacfantaasy You might be mistaken then. I know for a fact it came out on Genesis, played the hell out of that game.

  • @david2draw Only Super Street Fighter. SSF2 Turbo DID NOT COME OUT FOR ANY OF THE 16 BIT CONSOLES!

  • @david2draw As someone else has mentioned, Super Turbo wasn't released on neither the Genesis, or the SNES. The farthest they got on those systems were Super.

  • @david2draw That was Super Street Fighter II, not SSF2 Turbo. SSF2T didn't have SNES or Genesis ports, just ports for the 3DO, PS1, etc.

  • @david2draw He might mean SSF2: TNC, right?

  • @david2draw turbo only came out for the 3do at that time thats a fact

  • @david2draw

Common misconception. Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo (Japan Title: Super Street Fighter 2 X - Grand Master Challenge) was never released for Genesis/SNES. The Game you're talking about is "Super Street Fighter 2 - The new Challengers". (no Turbo in the Title)

If you don't believe me, check gamefaqs.com ;-)

  • @david2draw Street Fighter II': Special Champion Edition and Super Street Fighter II were both released for the Genesis. Super Street Fighter II Turbo, however, was not. You probably just got Super mixed up with Super Turbo.

  • @amacfantaasy I had it on Genesis, but it would always go to a completely orange screen, it pissed me the hell off.

  • @enigma2488 thats why i switched to computer and xbox

  • @DarkArmos it did that to you too?

  • @enigma2488 yh, i was pretty pissed too... i hadnt played street fighter in a while, and i realy was looking forward to it.

  • @amacfantaasy You could be thinking of Street Fighter II Turbo which was only called Turbo on the SNES because of a contract with Capcom and Nintendo. They had to call the Genesis version of that game "Special Champion Edition". On both systems though, it was Super Street Fighter II

  • @amacfantaasy Nope it came out for both in 1995. The Genesis version is the superior one as the Genesis was made for Arcade ports. It sounds and looks the closest to the arcade experience.

  • Better than the Super Nintendo version.

  • Neither the SNES nor Megadrive themes could light a candle to the arcade original, but they were still good renderings considering their hardware.

Thing to remember is that both machines produced different sounds: The Megadrive had more sharp and metallic sounds, whilst the SNES was very...trumpet and...organ. It can come down to the listener as to which was better. Personally, I say look far and wide into both game libraries and you will be pleasantly surprised.

  • @SamusDrake thank you, finally the voice of reason.

  • @david2draw

You are most welcome, my friend.

  • @SamusDrake well said my friend. that comment about the snes/genny soundchips and the sounds they produced was right on the money.

too bad not enough composers were able to make use of the Mega Drive's ability to produce nice bass effects. Yuzo Koshiro showed that the Genesis was capable of doing some really great club tunes.

  • @tichassbitty

I'm not sure if its true, but apparently Koshiro is a DJ in night clubs. Always remember the first time I heard the boss tune from Streets of Rage 1. I wish they would play that in night clubs! O_O

  • @SamusDrake

For this particular game, the SNES is pretty close in quality to the arcade CPS2 (obviously different), and I like T.Hawks theme better on SNES than arcade, (percussion is better IMO).

The CPS1 based SF2 theme had the edge on the Genesis, and ESPECIALLY the Genesis BETA.

  • @diegoaccord

If you're happy with it then that's cool beans. ^_^

  • @SamusDrake Actually, I'm surprised how good Fei Long's theme (and ONLY Fei Long) is on the SNES.

For some reason, they did a fantastic job on the SNES with that theme and that theme alone.

  • the cat

  • How come the genesis themes are so much quieter than the SNES themes?

  • @angrytrifrocenerd1

Because the genesis had like ZERO soundchip power.

  • Genesis sucks at music

  • @salozmen29 I strongly disagree.

  • @salozmen29 The Sonic games, Comix Zone, Alisia Dragoon, Streets of Rage 1,2, & 3, Castlevania Bloodlines. There are so many games on the Genesis that have great music. So I call BS on that claim you made.

  • Turbo wasn't on Mega Drive. Just regular Super

  • Hey, I was wondering if you could post up Ken's Sega Genesis theme.

  • @Ellisthemechanic

Its already on just type in

"Ken's megadrive genesis theme". It should come up.

  • Snes wins this time sound wise but Mega Drive version of Super Streetfighter 2 plays beter.

  • They need to remake this game . Same Graphics , characters, same stages just add an online multi-player option.

  • @MrEddybunz There's already a remake. You can use the old sprites, but not the old backgrounds. It's really good, though.

  • @MrEddybunz ....No....

  • my very 1st cammy theme : )

  • this sounds pretty cool capcom did a not bad job on the megadrive version.

  • Saddest part about this is, that this is probably the best song on the Genesis version.

  • I'm always the first to defend the Megadrive/Genesis when it comes to sound, but even I've got to say that this is... Pretty weak.

  • Alas this version suffered technically compared to the snes. But it played exactly the same. And it did have a few advantages. It was a lot faster than the SNES version.

  • @stufaman the warm strings melody that starts at :30 seconds is completely unrivaled...

  • @MrSmellybutt Now that you point it out, it makes me cry.

  • love it

  • sega had way better sound if you asctually listend too it, snes had good quality not gonna lie, but it depended on the game you were playing on sega, that you could determine whether their was good sound or not... need i remind yall of sonic 2 and 3?

  • Fighting Cammy had a strange castle in the background, on some kinda fairytale bridge, with rainbow sparkles in the sky....

...If that's what they thought England is like, they are in for a surprise! ^^

  • @TheBambiniGiant Erm That was Warwick castle!

Did you even play the game!?

  • @1MagicAndMayhem1 I thought it was Warwick castle, despite it looking much more exiting than the real one! I did play the game but alas, it's been a LONG time. My memory was off abit.

  • @TheBambiniGiant I still think the Cammy stage sucked too though

  • @1MagicAndMayhem1 I like it, it;s just abit too Japanese to be England that's all.

  • This is from Street Fighter II: The New Challengers on Sega Genesis, Not Hyper Street fighter,

  • Sega has worse sound, but it has a lot of charm. We're a better world for having it.

  • Everyone says SNES had the best sound...yeah, I agree, but MD's versions of the songs are simpler but better. XD

  • the SNES version had better music. The Genesis version had better game play and a better controller, in other words, the things that count.

  • @brtshstel No way man! The Genesis's version was butchered.

  • @Jutrzen seriously, the Genesis version had inferior graphics and sound, but the controls were just a little more responsive. play both versions on the original hardware and see for yourself. I'm not knocking the SNES, I just like playing the Genesis version better.

  • @brtshstel Especially with the 3 button controller:) Seriously ask some of the hardcore street fighter players, for example on the shoryuken website. They all say the same - the snes port was more faithful to the original as long as the gameplay (this includes controls) goes. Buf of course you have the right to your opinion.

  • @Jutrzen no im talking about the six-button version. i thought that was a given

  • @brtshstel I know, thats why I put a smiley there. The snes is still more faithful though.

  • @Jutrzen sega released a 6 button controller by the time this game came out ya fuckin nub

  • @MrSmellybutt So everybody who bought their consoles earlier had to buy a new controller just to play a game? Just wow. Go fuck your mother - see I'm talking on your level now?

  • @MrSmellybutt

And nobody i knew had it...and my friends where sf fanatics.

IMO the snes won out on the initial SF releases.

Then...Dream cast owned with some capcom stuff i the late 90s/early00s, so its all balanced.

Dont know about gameplay and doing it with 3 buttons, or without that sexy snes controller but To me this sounds like ass compared to the other versions, im not gonna lie lol.

just my opinion :) take it easy

  • Yeesh, SNES had way better audio quality than MD/Genesis

  • ahh the memories.

  • i never heard this version thught the snes version was better but i like this one too

  • you're not allowed to like both.

That's far too mature and reasonable.

This is the internet. Please respect the rules.

    eheheh. ;)

  • @Karmoon7 lmao epic lol

  • @Karmoon7 That sounds like exactly something I might say.

  • @xonrb I like this one better. I grew up on Sega. Some on SNES too.

  • Despite the Megadrive's limited sound chip as compared to the SNES, I really liked this version. Perhaps it's because I grew up playing the Megadrive version of Super Street Fighter 2. In any case, Cammy's theme is one of my personal favorite video game music pieces of all time, right up there with Tetris theme A. Thanks for the upload!

  • Theres no saying because both the MD and SNES had better sound chips than the CPS2 hardware.

However, all the tracks in both MD games were done well.

  • i loved the sega version of street fighters 2 the new challengers.
