  • im pretty sure its a taylor guitar

  • @666cynicaldragon666 His dad made him that guitar.

  • @ForTheBurden: wrong. its an Andrew White model E. check out a link to Robert's Myspace page for the full pic. check out the link to Andrew White (the luthier) myspace page for complete guitar pictures. Taylor doesn't make radical designs like this and Greenfield has fanned frets but the design isn't his. check the headstock shape on the links I provided.

  • What guitar is that?? Sounds great

  • almost positive its a hand made Andrew White guitar he won in the Canadian fingerstyle championships.

  • It is an Andrew White, but not the one he won - it's a fan-fret custom he had made afterward.

  • sensational!!!

  • the tuning is (100% certain)

    DADGAD

    (have tabs :))

  • Gah, open tunings. The kill me. I can't understand them. Ha, I've been up for close to 48 hours trying to dissect DADGAD...

  • whats an open tuning? as opposed to a closed tuning?

  • Well brother, an open tuning is when you tune your guitar to another tuning other than standard, and that other tuning, when played with no fingers fretting any strings, produces a chord. For example...if you tune your guitar DADGAD as opposed to EADGBE, and you played DADGAD tuning without fretting any strings, you'd be playing a Dsus4 chord. Put simply, an open tuning is a tuning that allows you to strike the strings without fretting any one of them and produces a chord.

  • ah thank you very much : )

  • so everyone is saying how much of a pain in the ass open tunings are...why is that?

  • Well that's because when you're playing in an open tuning, the chords you would normally play in standard tuning, you can't play in the open tuning. So, I mean, it's hard to explain, it's pretty much like trying to relearn the guitar.

  • yeah but at the same time open tunings are alot of fun, trying to figure out how to make something sound cool, i find its more fun in an open tuning than in standard for myself.

  • It's also a lot more fun to do finger picking stuff.

  • send me the tabs for this and ill send you some of mine i have many candyrat ones!!!

  • Anybody knows what guitar he is playing? a Ryan? (sounds like one...)

  • This guitar is called "Alejandra"

    From his site:

This is now my main stage guitar. I contacted Andrew to let him know of my gratitude for the C241, I also let him know of my interest in another acoustic that had been a dream I was pondering for some time. A fanned fretter with German spruce top and cocobolo back and sides. Andrew was new to the concept of fanned frets but 6 months later he proved to be a master, when my dream guitar became a reality. It is simply amazing!

  • ohw this is awesome! (Love to be the first commentor :), it really is!
