@weracjusz it's called 4 mains because it was written for 2 people. it is virtually impossible to play this with less than 4 hands.

@Lettevos However, the right party, so the person that plays the melody, does the same with both hands. So technically, it is possible to play one hand of the right hand and one hand (bass) of the left hand. It is however very hard and much less beautiful because of the loss of notes

Well, there are none. And even if there were, 4 mains was in the album "Cave Musician" of 1998, while Slaget Vid Blodsälv was released in the album Jaktens Tid, in 2001. This music couldn't be a ripoff of Slaget Vid Blodsälv, if that's what you're claiming.

Wim Mertens is one of my favourite composers since the 1980´s. The belly of an architect was a movie from Peter Greenaway that made me aware of him. There is a soundtrack available.
