Because TKD is the "McDonalds of Martial Arts". In that it was purposely developed in the 50's to spread Korean nationalism and to be their own unique voice in the Olympics and to be marketed throughout the world. (Nevermind they had Hapkido for decades upon decades prior anyway). Thats why everywhere you go there's a crappy TKD school in every suburb being taught to middle class whites.

I agree there are some DoJangs that are finance orientated, however there are some that train in the original style, the cost of my training is around £1.50 per session which is peanuts compared to other martial arts and boxing, doesn't every sport inclusive athletics, olympics cost?
my fitness level, concentration and attitude have all changed thanks to taekwondo ( it may have been the same if i chose a different martial art )

Korea animation team should just make a Mazinger Z movie then because its the original and not a fake. Especially since it wouldnt be the first time a Korean animation team was hired for a Japanese or American project.

Taekwon's designs are blatant rip off of Mazinger Z.
From the base where he emerges from, to the actual design of the robot, the fact the main character has a pesky little brother and a bossy girlfriend; a scientist father who invented the robot (Dr Kim), evil "Dr. Cops" villain (like Dr. Hell) and his blond android assistant that looks like Gamia Q.

nevermind the fact that during this time, besides Taekwon V, Korea had:
Taekwon Boy (Fake Gatchaman)
Space Black Knight, Astroboy Curi, Space Gundam V, Fake Galaxy Express 999, Fake Yamato, Phoenix King (fake Inferno from Transformers), fake Grandizer. All using actual models from Japanese anime. Mostly because of the Anti Japanese ban that was lifted in 98'.

Because of the ban, many of the Japanese shows that were first popular in Korea were taken off the air, but their toys still made in into Korea, so the Korean distributors could not obtain the TV show licenses to go along with the toys. So they repackaged the toys, and made the Korean studios make new shows based off the real shows of the toys to market to Koreans. Basically a plageristic fuck you to Japan. Thats why there rip offs.

Getter Robo is not made by Go Nagai. He only thought of the combining part. It's made by Ken Ishikawa and Nagai even said so himself.
And I don't see why you should concern yourself with "this stupid fake ass robot" if you think it's so lame. If you don't like it, then don't look at it and don't talk about it. There's no need to harass other people.

2nd, the creator is a rip off artist. Space Gundam V? Try doing something like that in the U.S. or EU. You'll get sued. Oh and he used Macross Valkyrie as designs.
And Go Nagai may have had help designing Getter Robo, but thats like Toriyama citing his publisher for help with Dragon Ball (because he did give him plenty of ideas).

Second, so what if the creator is a rip off artist? What happened happened. It all happened a long time ago and the past doesn't matter as much as the present. 1st of all, the past isn't the past. Taekwon V is getting a live action movie as this clip entails.
2nd, just recently Korea made an anti Japanese sentiment commercial about the Dohko islands featuring Taekwon V using racist stereotypes to depict the Japanese. That Island thing is a political struggle and disagreement and the use of a cartoon for political reasons is old hat & wrong imo. We (U.S.) stopped doing that in the 40's.

I agree that we should not use racist cartoons for political matters, and that commercial should not have been made, but since you all Anti-Korean people think we're brainless and all we can do is copy Japs, I guess we don't have the brains to distinguish what is right and wrong.

You realize why they used Taekwon V right? That show had a lot of anti Japanese sentiment in it and typically showed Japanese in a racist manner.
I dont recall Mazinger or any of Go Nagai's creations doing that.
And I'm not 'anti-Korean' or anything. I'm anti-rip off. Be original. The whole concept of having Taekwon V as a symbol of Korean national pride and anti Japanese sentiment meanwhile its a rip off of Mazinger, a Japanese creation, is such a sad joke. I mean really. C'mon.

Then I apologize for assuming you were anti-Korean. The creator of Taekwon V, along with many other Koreans, was a big fan of Mazinger Z and that is why he created Taekwon V. He wasn't trying to mock the Japanese or anything, though I guess he could have been more original. But Taekwon V was also based off Yi Sun-Shin who is a Korean hero. Perhaps that's why some people see it as national pride.
At least we don't copy Japanese anime nowadays.

You must not know much about the show because its not just the design he copied; he copied a lot of the characters and plot points too like Gamia Q the female blonde android with the red cape. He has the exact same character and plot wist in his show. Oh and dont forget the anti Japanese sentiment which was shown in the show a lot. Then use of the anime mecha Xabungle for the sequel
Also the inexcusable use of the word Gundam in his other show Space Gundam V, and use of Macross Valkyrie.

It's been a long time since I've seen the show, so I don't remember too much, but I do know the anti Japanese sentiment and a bossy girlfriend like Sayaka.
I think we can both agree that the Korean government at the time was to blame for Space Gundam V and Super Mazinger and those stuff. Like all the good banning is going to do. But still.....we shouldn't have just copied something illegally.

My point is most other countries dont promote plagerism and anti sentiment in their kids shows except what it seems to be north and south Korea. Kids shows and politics should remain separate. What they did here is stealing, not simple "imitation as a sincere form of flattery'.
Its like the difference in USA with Voltron, Mighty Orbots, Transformers, Robotech in that the Japanese companies still got paid for outsourcing their material, ie it wasnt stolen.

what was stolen? the concept? there are 2 different storylines and 2 different robots with different abilities. they just look alike and the characters are similar. the creator of taekwon wanted also a robot hero like in japan for the kids so he took the similar appearance cuz it was a big hit in japan

Robot designs were stolen, key characters were stolen, the base where the robot is stored was stolen, basic plot was stolen. Gamia Q, a blond female android assassin wearing a red cowl, has the exact same counterpart in Taekwon V, wearing almost the exact outfit and the same plot points.
Nevermind the same author went on to use the term "GUNDAM" in his Space Gundam V show! Using Gundam designs & then using Brave Raideen's design as the bad guy & just painting him red. How is that not stealing?

Because TKD is the "McDonalds of Martial Arts". In that it was purposely developed in the 50's to spread Korean nationalism and to be their own unique voice in the Olympics and to be marketed throughout the world. (Nevermind they had Hapkido for decades upon decades prior anyway). Thats why everywhere you go there's a crappy TKD school in every suburb being taught to middle class whites.

of course they would teach it to their military; its part of their nationlistic pride. Just like Israel teaches Krav Maga to its soldiers. Just like long ago in Korea before TKD was even a word, the art of Taekkyon was taught to its military only (after the King banned it from civilians and deemed it so due to the heavy gambling that was going on it its matches among civilians). Also older Taekkyon being a more well rounded art than TKD until they later changed it to mostly kicking (like TKD)

taekwondo was inaugarated by Major Genral Choi Hong Hi 9th Dan, in 1952 as a warrior art, taught to the Korean Military.
It has very real Self defence techniques and sport techniques.

Taekwondo is practised by over 60 million people in 168 countries, by all classes, races and ages.
all martial arts have their purpose and are effective.

lol no thanks. TKD being taught to the military is like Krav Maga being taught to the Israelis. Its just part of their National Pride. Its not like they're going to learn American Freestyle wrestling for the Korean military use some common sense. And TKD is heavily commercialized and there's tons of Mcdojo's around the world because of thats why
Korea holds fake style vs TKD matches where they pair up fighters that are 'supposed' to be from other countries fighting in their style, when its not

I agree there are some DoJangs that are finance orientated, however there are some that train in the original style, the cost of my training is around £1.50 per session which is peanuts compared to other martial arts and boxing, doesn't every sport inclusive athletics, olympics cost?
my fitness level, concentration and attitude have all changed thanks to taekwondo ( it may have been the same if i chose a different martial art )
there are also moves similar to wrestling, judo, karate + more
