What i did with mine for having to push the clutch to start is if u look at the bottom youll see a little button and that gets pressed when u press the clutch so what u do is there is a plug connected to that button its usally behind the engine and all u gotta do is take that plug out and ur good
i have one question, if you install a gas pedal on a tractor with a clutch, do you still need the clutch so you can shift into gear? Or is it just shift, press pedal and it goes?
Love it man, one day were going to race! Lol I got a 29 hp water cooled v twin in my rideon and a gaspedal thats not govenored aswell as a 3.5 on the engine and a 2.5 inch pulley on the tranny, is yours 5 or 6 speed?
my craftsman has the same throttle piece with that plastic thing. How did you attach the brake cable? Did you anchor it to one of the holes? Soldering? Tying?
@Awesome25ification I had to drill the hole a little bigger so the cable would fit and just got a small bolt with a hole in it and clapped it at the end of the cable.
Un-plug the wire coming from under the flywheel, when the motor is running, take a voltmeter and put the postive on the wire, and the negative to a good ground. You should have 12V coming off the motor. If that works when the motor is running, disconnect the battery, see if your getting 12v to the cables with your meter, if not just track down the short, or a bad ground. You can always run a fresh wire from the lead coming from under the fly wheel, to the battery side of your solenoid

@arild365 lol well ima give u tips lock your diff put a 15inch pully on the engine and a 3'' or smaller and youll FLY and un hook the brake and rerout it to another pedal ans there u go u can shift on the go with out stopping and youll still have your brakes
@dragata1 nope, got it fully checked out and it was totaly fine and just too be sure i threw in a battery that i knew worked from another tractor and still no luck!
for that choke find an old agway or mtd tractor fom like 1993 the throttle and choke are differnt controls loose that metal choke inkage it goes right to plastic choke plate and drill a hole in dash thats ow my old tractor was
@wings454513 actually not...retard ive checked it with a multimeter. Lets see your sweet lawn tractor...what?...oh you DONT HAVE ONE! i think i smell a bit of jelousy!
The battery problem sounds like the stator is bad, to test it un hook the wires going to it and if you have a volt test meter hook that up to it and then start it and see if you got a little over 12volts, if not then the stator is bad.
yah i know what you mean. Its really hard on the tractor. I also saw people attaching it to the butterfly on the carb andd that will eventually blow your motor cause the engines arnt meant to be reved so high! It may go faster but it wont last long.
The thing that nobody understands is, a gas pedal controls the speed of the wheels, not the engine, its really not good for the engine to rev it like a car. the only true gas pedel would hook up to the trany, not the engine, like replaceing the "shifter" with a pedel and geting rid of the shifter.
on the video, that is not a true gas pedel, a true gas pedel would hook up to the trany and replace the shifter. it ruins engines like that, to rev it like a car.
No, it doesn't hurt the motor, only if you rev it to high. Have ever worked on a car? I'm not tring to be mean, but do you really think a gas pedal goes to the tranny?
Yes, i have worked on many cars and trucks. And no, the gas pedal, on a car, goes to the motor, but on a tractor, to make it the most realistic, what you would do is hook up the "gas pedal" to the trany, like my craftsman pgt 9000 riding mower. But to make it just like a car, you would have to make a real transmission. on a car as the engine runs, the trany shifts into first, and the car starts to go, then as the engine RPM's get higher, that faster the car goes, then eventually the trany shifts
into the next gear, and so on and so forth, with an automatic trany. but on a tractor with a "gas pedal" set up like the one on this video, you have to work the throttle, or "gas pedal" to control the engines RPM's, while also having to work the shifter handle. so its not a true "gas pedal" compared to a car. there i know way more than u think. dont make assumtions.
Ok I think I get what you saying.. I was thinking more like it's a 5 speed with separate clutch and gas pedals. And you would rev it up in each gear to accelerate then shift, and accelerate and so on...
you could put an auto clutch on and it would be like driving a standard with no clutch

it lets more air in

@arild365 what did you hook the spring to on the carb?

no pulley mods yet. I am planning on swaping the pulleys this week end and il post a video of it. Thanks for the advice.

arild365 2 years ago
@arild365 About 4500RPMs instead of the 3600RPMs stock will not hurt it, just know when to stop. :P
It will rev quicker too, but if you really want a lot of quick revs then you'll need to start doing cam mods and carb mods.
