i have the same radar..but geez yours seems to detect a band from a long distance..mine cant seem to detect anything from far range :/ dissapointing

my x50 doesn't say x50 when u first start it, it only says 8500, can anyone tell me whats wrong.

How do you keep your Escort secure on the windshield? Mine seems to shake and rattle against it, it is very irritating.

@awesomepenguin95 it's kind of hard to find the sweet spot, but you have to play around with the mount. Or your car needs a good tire balance! ;)

Radar detectors are a waste of money these days with the new instant on radar cops use on freeways. That means they turn on their radar when your in view and get your speed.. Your detector will go off but it's too late the cop got ya! Kinda sucks cause if your speeding on freeway these days good chance of getting caught no matter what.

hey ii have the same radar and i was nxt to a cop and it wouldnt beep for shit

all my bands were off but then i changed the settings and toke off Xband and now it reads k all the time idk if that matters? can u help me on what settings it should be in? i live in californa los angeles

Just leave X band off, it's hardly used anymore. You'll get k alerts from automatic doors sometimes. Ka alerts are cops for sure, and of course laser too.

@300zx93nismo1 it might need calibration, send it to Escort. You're good with K band only, X band is not used anymore, I have it off.

I'm guessing there is no rear antenna on that model.. because right as you are done passing.. there is like no signal.. waste of money..... but the front does have good range it seems

Of course there's a rear antenna! That's why the radar still beepeing for more than 15 seconds AFTER I passed the cruiser.

Considering that he was facing the OPPOSITE way, the rear antenna did its job more than good. Besides, when they clock you on the highways (speedtraps) they clock you from the front not from behind!

So not a waste of money by any means. In fact, it has saved me so many times that I had my money back several times!

Remember this is a Passport x50, not a Cobra!

The beeping, it seems to get intense way before you're next to the cop, do u find it annoying as a driver? Or does it not bother you since it helps you avoid tickets lol

I'm used to. The beep gets faster depending on the signal strenth , that's the way you manage your speed.
