Congrats WGI, i had no idea that your shows really packed out like this. i remember after aging out of DCI , that the indoor scene was just really starting to take shape nationally. When I figured out that WGI was the perfect winter venue for training, I was already too old for the system, and was already in the work force as a drummer. It seems to me that evolution may have switched the roles of DCI and WGI, with the drummers doing DCI to stay in shape between WGI seasons. congrats...

Someone at my school said this to me which was a big realization of what we have in guard. They said" man you guys are so dedicated I would have quite a long time ago" they were referring to our practice scheduele. It made me realize the reason we endure such long practice hours, the yelling, the injuries, the time consumption, it's all for those 4 minutes of glory on that floor wether you win or lose, drop or catch. That is what we work for.

This is going to be my first year competting at Dayton. I finally made into my upper guard and I can't wait to perform. Guard is my everything, I live, breath, eat, and sleep guard. That's all I ever talk about. I'm so fortunate that my guard program is growing to the point where I will be able to still compete after I graduate and keep my same instructors and friends. It's unexplainable the rush of emotions you feel out on the floor when you perform your heart out for something you love so much

My high school winter line is probably going to be getting into WGI pretty soon. I’m so excited even though it won’t be within my high school career. Ever since we got our percussion director who was center snare in the Cavaliers for two years our line has been untouchable (by other high schools). Can’t wait until we get to compete with lines like this =D

WGI was one of the greatest experiences of my life. As i watch this video i can reflect on this and remember being on the stage in Dayton ohio. As my show ended, this music was playing in my head. Before the competition my instructor showed us this video and we were all compelled with it greatness. Even though that year we did not make finals, i grew closer to everyone in the guard and became a stronger performer. As i finish this comment, my eyes begin to water, because i miss it so much.

'm thinking about trying to start WGI in my school (not a top level competition school, just to boost membership in the guard and to improve skills for marching band). How much do these tarps cost, where could I get them, and how large of a tarp should I get for a 8-12 person guard?

I can rember all the countless hours, day-in and day-out, be it early in the morning or till late at night. Spining a rifle till I could no longer tell if my hands would work the next day and my arms felt like they would fall off. If it was not for Lee Carlson and my friends at I.H.S. I think my life would be truly diffrent. To all that are part of WGI stay with it and keep up the good work.

I've been a winterguard member for 4 years and I'm entering my high school freshman year and I have to say that I would not be who I am today without guard. It makes up who I am and I'm sure any other member could relate to this insanely amazing feeling that you get for that 4 minutes in the floor.
