Superb ! I'm a design student and doing a summer project on the iconic film 'Cabinet of Dr Caligari'. I've been struggling to get into the project, but watching this has given me much inspirtation ! Thank you.
I created a blog a few days ago and I was expecting to create a space in which people could express their feelings and opinions about "books".The blog link is enrugados.blogspot.com and I would expect the passioned book readers to join my blog and there express our gratitute to some of the books which made us what we are today. You can translate the blog if you want and in order for you to do that I am telling you that it is written in the portuguese language.
Powerful. One of the things that makes Kafka very difficult to film, is how much takes place in the character's thoughts... and so many end up trivializing the whole thing by focusing too much on the guy being a bug, instead of his existential horror or the metaphor it invokes... the helplessness he felt and the process of letting go. THAT is the difference between "The Metamorphosis" and... say... the movie "The Fly".
Will someone who knows all about Kafka please answer this! My teacher told me of some music that Franz Kafka wrote. It has a pretty long name. And it is supposed to be really twisted and odd. Franz Kafka was quoted saying read In The Penal Colony while listening to this music. Thanks for any answers.
Frank Kafka is a haunted, tormented, great soul. His words, his vision will forever haunt us, jar us, put our vision in black and white, mute our auditory perceptions, to show us the existential bleakness of humanity that is us, in us, and all around us.
I've made a tribute song for Kafka, and for all the other great troubled artists from the classical to modern.
i see a lot of 17s. i am as well. and also into kafka mostly because i can emphasize with the sense of detatchment from this world. almost everyone would- with different reason in different degree.
Wow, this is great. What a haunting adaptation of an amazing story. The feelings of isolation and sadness you managed to evoke seriously overwhelmed me.
I think this is one of the scariest text I have ever read! I began today, and cried. Disassociative disorders, anxiety, rejection, and isolation... who are you when you look in a mirror and you no longer know? Or when your family refuses to see you for are, even though you are right in front of them.
You did an excellent job of portraying how G.S. may have been viewing his world...
i love franz kafka though i am 16-17 is that strange?Very well made video!!!''kafkiki atmosfaira'' therei is a terma in greek you said euxaristw are you greek?
@crosti I also wanted to add that what's really brilliant is that you get across the feelings of the story, and Gregor's internal thoughts, without ever showing his form. Gods, now I want to see this as a full length film.
