  • Yes is the 1st band that comes to mind when I hear someone talking about progressive rock. They paved the way for many bands.

  • This stuff from Relayer is some of the craziest, most adventurous material ever created in the history of rock. I doubt we'll ever hear anything like this again in today's dumbed down musical world. Sadly, Yes in the 1970s was a one-time event in the history of music.

  • Without a doubt the keyboard solo by Mr.Moraz is the top 5 key solos of all time! Just unhinged brilliance. Bold sound, jazz rock at it's best and truly progressive. All keyboardists should study this and anything Wakeman has ever done and be better for it!! Top five masterpieces in Prog Rock, 5.

  • yes.....sound chaser.....live.....does not-cannot-get any better than this!

  • I love the weird piccolo right before the first fast riff..

  • good music, bad mix and poor quality. I remember learning this one on bass, almost got it down, but not quite, lol.

  • terrible quality. see it perfect quality search for: yes QPR sound chaser

  • CHA CHA CHA ... CHA CHA Sheer controlled beautiful maddening insane bliss!

I'll never forget listening to Relayer for the first time back when music used to mean something. These days creativity as this is nearly nonexistent. What a mind blowing experience. Somewhere in that music is the unspoken answer to the riddle of the Universe. Bravo! And guess what? I'm not being pretentious.

  • the bass line reminds me of DOOM sound track...

  • This is one of the songs that yes does that gives me chills every time I listen to it. There are parts of many other songs that do it once in a while, but this one consistently does it. Fantastic song from their best album.

  • The individual parts to this song would seem to be very difficult to play. How they can blend it all together as a group is nothing short of amazing! Thanks for posting from a long time Yes fan.

  • Minimoog and so on.... Just a look at it...and it's already Not In Tune...

  • Patrick Moraz was the best keyboardist Yes ever had. He brought madness to Yes!

  • @Chriskkboongg -- interesting comment -- because moraz's "solo" efforts are pretty mainstream-ish. his keyboard solos are creative therein. but in 'Relayer', i believe he was playing following the direction of jon anderson; and doing a fantastic job doing so. that wakeman guy was pretty good too -- check the organ solo in 'CttE'.

  • @quirkasaurus I agree. Even more interesting the fact Relayer being a keyboard player's dream album. Let's just say his playing style fitted perfectly for the sound the band wanted in this project, which is also a huge compliment.

  • sounds a lot like the CRIMSON KING!!!

  • @Interst890 ??!!

  • Such a beautiful song.. Relayer is my favorite album

  • Man... the live energy... the lack of produced "perfection"... Wish I had been alive...

  • Really one of the best musics, EVER!

  • Thank you for this exceptionnal document. This is the show I missed because some stole me money for the tickets. A really difficult piece to play. Hearing Steve's solo I know now that was a written one.

  • Moraz is a very fine keyboardist, and was great on this album. However, just like those who wrongly think that Trevor Rabin is superior to Steve Howe in any way, so too anyone who thinks that Moraz is superior to Wakeman just hasn't listened very carefully to Wakeman or heard most of his music. While Moraz was good for a time with Yes, he sucked for the Moody Blues as far as I'm concerned.

  • lol, i guess the only problem with yes were the recording and some production in the live records.

  • BEST BAND in the Universe!!

  • BEST BAND EVER!

  • its gets boring at 9:47

  • @KillingLies1 HAHA

  • "The And You and I crowd must have been "What the Fuck"..."

And alas most still are. No disrespect to Mr. Wakeman or his contributions, but I agree this was Yes' peak musically*. The jazz aspect I guess is just too inaccessible to many who prefer a more strict adherence to the classical tradition, whatever the "rock" elements.

    * It's likely GOING FOR THE ONE was written if not recorded with Moraz. Although Wakeman did a fine job, it's crying shame this lineup didn't release and tour it.

  • ok alan white definetly does not do his drum solo as good as he does on the studio version i really dont like that about him he will play a drum part one way in the studio and half the time not play it the same live

  • Out of all of their great work, this seems to me to be thier greatest acheivement.

  • I love Alan White's percussions in this song. Waaay before Mars Voltas and other stuff out there, There was YES.

  • Steve Howe is so cool for using a telecaster and slide on this album. The hardest prog country ever. Beautiful album.

  • #5 on the US charts and in the Top 200 for 16 weeks. #4 in the UK - 8 weeks in the Top 40. Couldn't happen today, could it? So much for evolution...

  • 2:50 Steve... This is frikin shameless...

And shamfull is that THIS music still lives only on Youtube. In 'real world' Stevie Wonder and U2 are geniuses... Not to mention rap and shit.

  • The best part about the Relayer tour is they were opening with Soundchaser. (I personally feel Relayer is their most ambitious record). The And You and I crowd must have been "What the Fuck"...

  • Wow

  • Wow

  • @Yes-Sound Chaser.com

  • Like favorsham said..This is one of my favorite rockin Yes songs of alltime!!! If only the sound was better..But thanks man just to hear & see this post was awesome..Peace ;-) REDO it & REPOST ;-) ty happy holiday's

  • Great song, too bad the sound sucks.

  • How in the holy hell did something like this ever achieve mainstream popularity? it just staggers the mind to think that a band this innovative and this demanding ever played huge stadiums.

  • Great video thanks for sharing. Yes... this album just never gets old.

  • What a fucking band. Perfeita

  • I saw the Yes Relayer set when the band did Reading festival in 1974. It was Saturday night, pouring with rain but the sound and performance from Yes live just up in front of me, was an incredible experience. I'll never forget that gig as long as I'll live.

  • Can we hear it for Chris Squire, please?

  • REALLY MISS JON.

    JON ANDERSON IS THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!\

CAN NOT WAIT FOR THE JON, RICK, AND .....THE TREVOR RABIN ...PROJECT TO GET STARTED!!!!!!

  • @RICHARDTRICHMOND are they working togheder? where? Can wait us a new album? Please tell me about this project. Thanks

  • @pepemalfi1

JON AND RICK ARE TOURING IN OCT. AND NOV. AND HAVE AN ALBUM....THE LIVING TREE. JON AND TREVOR SPOKE ABOUT TOURING THEIR MUSIC THAT THEY WROTE IN 06, AND RICK SAID ON HIS RADIO SHOW, MARCH, THAT HE , TREVOR, JON AND A 4TH EX-YES MAN HAVE BEEN TALKING.

JON , RICK AND TREVOR ARE NOT WORKING TOGETHER RIGHT NOW, BUT A NUMBER OF YES MEN ARE INTERVIEWED IN THE OCT. ISSUE OF CLASSIC ROCK..PROG.

JON WAS ASKED ABOUT A NEW BAND,..NO COMMENT. BUT JON, RICK&TREV. ARE TALKING ABOUT 2011

  • @RICHARDTRICHMOND Prog magazine knew this was going to happen four, five months ago. Brudford is the 4th ex Yes member. I believe Levin is also in the equation

  • @vivelavidarocka

Rick actually reported this on his radio show in Feb., Himself, Jon,& Trev.

Bill was said to be the 4th, But Bill in a May 18 blog....said no, and "it must be a slow news day at classic rock"!

Levin said it was not him, this time.

Since then, Jon and Rick have said it is Bill. Jon, Rick, Trevor and.....whoever else....will be much better than the yes-LITE!

Love to see those 4 and Mr. Sherwood.

Hopefully in 2011, JON, RICK AND TREVOR WILL RECORD!

    CAN'T WAIT!!

  • @RICHARDTRICHMOND Thanks for the update man! Now that you mentioned it, I haven't got my Oct issue of Prog magazine. Anyways, those are very good news. Now, that's definitely a YES line up I would be interested seeing in concert. Somehow I didn't feel guilty skipping the last YESLITE tour.

  • @RICHARDTRICHMOND Realy thanks for you. In Argentina did come the albun by Rick and Jon. I am going to see "this Yes" at November 19 here.I am listening the band and must say that do not like to me.Will se next friday. Excuse me for my english, is not good. i am waiting for work by JON RICK and TREVOR.

  • @wigginsdesign- are you by any chance Graham Wiggins?

  • they were so great. Though I support the current YES with a full heart. I miss the 70's line ups.

    Patrick was brilliant.

  • WHAT A FCKN MASTERPIECE! .If you don't comprehendf YES then I feel for you. You missed the greatest musically satisfying experience of our time. Even agmonst the YES and Prog world, RELAYER is too underappreciated. This is YES at their peak before the slow crash of the 80's. But they made the best innovative and most original music of my lifetime during their heydey. CHA CHACHACHA CHA

  • Yes, A Celebration 1969 - 1979 2DVD set featuring this entire concert from 1975 in better video/audio quality is available at tommygunvideo website

  • I saw this concert at Chicago Stadium on July 4th,1975. Can you please tell me where this show was filmed?

  • really, all things considered, the most amazing rock band in the history of human music

  • @Th0masBivens You are absolutely right and I say, of all genres.

  • I love me some Yes but these ridiculous shirts with giant sleeves crack my shit up.

  • How the fuck do they execute that LIVE?

  • steve-howe-in-the-hell?!

  • I was at this concert studying for my Chemistry regents. Too unreal.

  • I dont think,,,there´ll ever,,be better than this

  • I saw a lot of concerts back in the day... mid-60's forward... there weren't many bands that sounded anywhere near as good live as the did on their albums. Yes was one of the few exceptions. I was at this concert in Birmingham, AL on June 2, 1976. After recovering from the shock and awe of the 3 headed mechanical butterfly thing with laser beam eyes unleashed with the opening "Siberian Khatru," I was blown away with the excellent sound and precision of their musicianship. Excellent.

  • @vbgpaul True, and they almost always faithfully reproduce their studio work when performing live, something I like very much. Yes is my favorite band for 31 years now. I just saw them 3 weeks ago in Seattle, excellent!

  • the sound for this concert fuckin sucks i have tthe 2 dvds for this show and the sound sucks they didnt do a good job mixing it fuckin half ass bastards

  • wish the video was better quality as well as the audio. but still non the less a great song.

  • Fuck oh dear!

  • that's one of my favourites songs....awesome video!!

  • It's the closest to the studio version as you can get. Amazing! I can't believe they were able to play it like that live...

  • Sounds like Moraz's monitor mix is what we got. Crazy.

  • YES! Synch @ 07:25. How dare they!

  • Awesome. Music pure to itself....

  • Thank you Patrick Moraz for being part of the greatest album that was ever recorded.

  • @williamsj3 well said amigo!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @williamsj3 you got that right. Not only is this an under appreciated album, an overlooked album, etc., it is probably one of the finest achievements in all of rock, and it is totally overlooked. For shame, rock establishment, for SHAME!

  • @williamsj3 I so absolutely agree with williams! Long Live Patrick Moraz! Long Live Relayer! Long Live YES and their special fans!

  • Holy balls, that was amazing.

  • Hey Cha Cha this song will never be frgotten

    Thank you XITIENLE

  • I had the pleasure of seeing them open their set at Reading 75 with this.Sublime!

Relayer is a very under-rated album IMHO.

    Slainthe

  • You totally know Yes has been in contact with aliens for years, learning how their music sounds and reproducing it.

  • I could not take it oh so seriously really When you called and said you'd seen a UFO But then it dawned on me the message in writing Spelt out a meeting never dreamed of before I looked out, in the night Strange and startling Was this voice of time just saying There's got to be a linking of everyone Got to be a centre It all comes flooding back Arriving thru eons of times immortal power of the future to behold
  • dude....rolling on the floor....funny...

  • I Like all Yes-Songs... but have to say that this is one of the best!!

Steve , Moraz, Squire: Perfect Combination!!

  • They revenged of the critics to the imperfect tales with this titan of progressive rock, I think there is no better album in terms of progressive rock. Relayer is perfect, too good, invincible! sensational, virtuous, perfect!! 6:40

  • i think that is wakeman's ego.

  • ♫ cha cha cha cha cha ♫

♪♫ cha cha cha cha cha ♫♪

♫ cha cha cha cha cha ♫

  • ♪ chiki chiki chiki cha chahh... ♪

    (whisper)

  • steve's guitar playing is so f'in incredible in this song.

  • exactly, but incredibly this one of the most forgotten songs

  • omg the solo made me jizz. well not really but im finally glad to see some footage of howe ripping without the camera pointing at someone else thats not doing anything cough cough yessongs dvd yours is no disgrace solo footage cough cough

  • nice post LOL

  • perpetual Change also is the video, true? it's a real show!

  • rock or roll!!

  • This song creeped me out the first time I heard it. It just didn't make any sense. Now, almost 12 years later, I finally get it and Relayer has become one of my favorite Yes albums (close behind The Yes Album, Fragile and CTTE).

  • fuckin steve howe-- arpeggios from hell--lol --- one of the greatest guitarist of prog. and YES ain't to bad either. : )

  • Moraz!

  • but christ how amazing to see this, never mind the engineer. Thanks for putting this up to add to our human records.

  • Frankly I'd want my money back. One great song sounding like crap.

  • Sorry dude. No refunds. Wait a minute,...This is for FREE, so stop complaining, and enjoy it as it is.

  • why relayer barely beats out close to the edge as best record every by yes.... gates of delirium>close to the edge sound chaser>siberian Khatru to be over>and you and I all these are very very close... but each song on relayer is just a tiny bit better than their counterparts on close to the edge. Patrick Moraz isn't as good as wakemen, but his style fits the record better. '
  • This whole album is heavy with amazing bass work. One the most obvious of Chris Squire's contribution to YES material. Not to mention Steve incredible work and performance. Obviously one of YES's most brilliant efforts ever

  • nice bass

  • god the bassline is insane!

  • Hey can you please post up Ritual

    from the same concert?

  • Well said nonthere!

  • This is just a great song. They just threw everything in there, shook it up like a martini and came up with perfection!

  • best song they ever did, thx for posting

  • esta cancion es dificil de imitar, es muy compleja, ni genesis, ni camel le llegan a este grupo , es su obra cumbre

  • isso q é som

  • Squire is amazing!

  • awesome
