Consider TOGGLER BOLTS 1/4". You can drill 1/2" hole then install the toggler bolt and install the tv using metal studs without wood.

thank you. I have aluminum studs, so very thin - using 3/16" toggle bolts, 2 of them 16" apart, then will add some drywall anchors as well to support the mount.

@AllAroundFit please take a look at the new SECURE MOUNT ANCHORS on our website before doing anything. go to ABITRONIXDIRECTcom and type SMA3000 in search. These anchors were designed for this type of application and where not available when that video was made. VERY inexpensive. GOOD LUCK and let us know how you make out!

How did you get the wood behind the aluminum studs? Have to cut the drywall?

@AllAroundFit Thank you for your question. Yes, in this particular application, I beleive a we used a 1.5" x 2" inch strip of wood - fit through the feed hole. All we needed is an extra re-enforcement to be able to catch and support the stud and the mount. Also, assists on distributing the weight of the TV across the supports.
