I've had one of these for several months - found nothing disappointing about it. Good for 2-up too, as the seat is dead good for riding with the misses. Dunno why this is called a "learning bike" all the time - including in this tape. Of course it's not a balls-out street racer, but does everything else have to be considered a "learner" ?
@imatthews37 I wouldnt call it a beginner bike either. its not slow by any means. I think a beginer bike would be a rebel or sometihng smaller. I know my first bike was a yz 80.. I learned a long time ago. but I wouldnt toss a complete newb on a katan.. lol. talk about bad idea.
the monologue is rather boring. You could try to describe the pros and cons of your own bike, and tell how many mpg you get, how fast does it accelerate, how much does it weigh. is it good on corners, what is it like in the rain, with two people, how much is the insurance, do you ride all year round, how often do you service it, and lubricate the chain, what kind of tyres do you use, how have you set the suspension?etc. stuff like that, instead of rambling on...
Great vids man, and what a nice Kenworth behind you at 2:16 I love those big shits too. :) In Central Europe, you can't see a damn American truck. A lot of Scania, Mercedes and Volvo...
I'm sure you'll get a ton of hits if you do a search for them; some popular ones are, Adobe Premier, Sony Vegas Video, Cyberlink Power Director, Windows has Movie Maker and Mac has iMovie as part of their systems. There's probably free software out there as well.
Very nice video and thanks for posting it. I have an 06 GSX750F or Katana and i love everthing about it. (my first bike) This will be my 3rd season/summer with it and i wouldn't trade it for anything! Suzuki needs to bring it back , it's a Classic!
One can tell that you have a real controlled riding, I've watched all your videos this evening, and I saw you bable a lot when trying to focus on your riding.
I'm 16 this year and was hoping to start riding has soon has I turn 18, so i've been watching videos with tips on how to ride and stuff ^^
GSX650f got the MCN sport touring bike of the year for 2008 and i am proud to say that i have one! as far as it being a new engine, its actually not, it has been in the Bandit 650 for a few years....and mods, there are a ton of mods out for this bike so that you can make it truly your own. as for the guy that said you are going to miss the 100cc......not true, this bike has very good power for a sport touring bike, its not going to out run a GSXR, is still fast enough to get you in deep shit
Though the 650f looks nice I would stick with the Katana. I own a GSX750F, or Katana as it's known over there, and I love it. Mine is the older version '94 but it has the same oil and air cooled engine which is bullet proof. The 650 is water cooled and has all the electronic fuel injection and stuff, which is all well and good as long as it works. Besides I think you would miss the extra horsepower dropping 100cc. The 650 looks like they've cut a few corners pricewise. Look at the handlebars.
Yes we've got one well i should say my wife has got one she's taken over on it,its done 10.000 kilometers just changed the Bridgestones double the K's I get on my ZZR1200 and the bike is more fun to ride we love it.Yoshimura slip on is all we;ve done to it get rid of that big tin can, would sugest the bike to anyone Frank&Marie Downunder
interesting thought, i would stick to what you have, but thats just me. I just bought my first a 97 Suzuki GSX 750 F, and should have it done by this saturday, can't wait to ride. keep up the vid's
well about your upgrading. its your bike your passion. whatever you want to ride and like the feel of. so if you want to upgrade then go for it but would you really need too? its not like you have that maxed out passed the red line. your just cruising along having a good old fucking time man...
I traded my Harley in on a GSX650F a couple of weeks ago and I love the bike. It's great looking, handles great, the motor is responsive, and the bike is a lot of fun to ride. Suzuki offers the bike in blue and black. I chose the blue because I felt it could be seen better by cars because it has some white in the paintjob.
A great bike for a great price. I'll own it a long time. I'm planning a trip from New York to Florida on it this fall.
The reflections weren't that bad. They didn't obstruct the vid that much.
Why would you want to dowgrade in engine size?
When I finish with my scooter, I am getting the Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R, but I've heard that the Honda CBR700R (i think that's the name) has an easier gear select thing. Instead of 1 N 2..., it's N,1,2...
I had a Katana 600 and it was a very good bike. Plenty fast for me. Although once I rode a 1000cc I was spoiled and scared. But for everyday the 600Katana or 750Katana are the way to go. If you come across a Z750 try it. Standard bike with plenty of power.
I would definatly love to sit around and bs with you thats for sure :). It is nice to see someone riding properly for a change. As for the bike upgrade, if you've been on that one for a while, look for something with a bit higher CC's as your probably more than ready for it.
A video on YouTube of someone driving a motorcycle the speed limit and using proper methods? I'm impressed, but must admit I've been conditioned to expect a high speed chase or at least some reckless and illegal driving. To not see it is refreshing. Kudos!
I'm buying a 650F. Great bike in my opinion. The test drive was awesome. All I've ever driven is dirt bikes and my cousin's Harley so the sport bikes are new to me. I loved how it rode.
The GSX650F has been getting rave reviews over here, none of the decent magazines (i.e. not supersport or nothing kind of mags), like Bike and TWO haven't had a bad thing to say about it.
Go talk to a dealer thats not your local one, then you won't feel under pressure to make a decision, because you won't be buying from him anyway, just go for a few test rides. Your heart will tell you what is the right one.
My vote is with the GSX not the SV. Keep it cool man, and upload some more vids!!
your videos are excellent quality, i am trying to sell my harley so i can buy a vfr 800, or a gsxf750, i like the sportiness, but without being too crazy, and the comfort factor is important, plus it has to be comfy in the pillion seat for my girlfriend.
I own an '06 SV1000S - The SV would be an excellent choice if you're looking for a sporty road bike that is also fairly comfortable and easy to ride in the city. Other bikes are faster, but after 20 years of riding experience I can tell you there is not much to beat it for the price.
I was thinking of getting a SV1000S next. I've read some reviews and some said that it could get a bit uncomfortable to ride after a while; is this true?
I believe you´re ready for the next step, you know you want it, you know you need it :) ...
About the 650f, it is probably lighter than yours, wich is always a must, probably you won´t even notice a loss in torque, hp, but i don´t know the numbers. I´ve ridden the bandit 650 tough and it´s very smooth, but a little heavy to me and needs a stiffer suspension too..
When you say mature, do you mean old! :o) I'm staying with the KAT for now. The 650F isn't much different with regards to riding. My next move would be a bigger bike but also on the budget side; like a Bandit 1250, Yah FZ1 or Kawi Z1000
I wish i could be like you; but when i´m riding my SV650N, sometimes i get a little to the crazy side...
About your choices, i particularly like the FZ1; it´s a better overall bike than the others. More flickable, sportier, lighter and it´s a better choice especially than the Bandit IMHO.
No, recording was live. I guess it's the camera type and where I place it. Camera: Kodak V570; placed just in front of my mouth on the chin bar. I have pictures of it on the live video site. This recording is with a new setup; I have yet to post those pictures.
Well, this is a hard decision but i dont think a ninja 650r would be a good choice cause its the only 2 cylinder bike and its a 71hp bike, others are 100+, thats 1 hell of a bike, my brother has an er-6n but its no competition for 650f or fz6... to be continued....
Thanks for the comments; I have been debating whether to stay with this bike or move to the new GSX650F from Suzuki. I think I'm going to stay with what I have for a while.

Good video editing. What cam you have, and what program do you use to edit? I wanna get a camera and editing program so I can start making videos.

I use a Kodak V570 (not a helmet cam). Any editing software may be used.

The GSX650F's look cool. I have the Suzuki GS500e and when I'm ready for a bigger bike, the 650F looks like a good deal.
I think you should keep your Katana stock, that way it will fetch a higher price when you sell it.
