I've run it without the baffle. It's got a nice top end, but a MASSIVE dead spot in the midrange caused by inversion. It works better on bikes with mechanical carbs, CV carbs like a little back-pressure.
nice kerker-650 combo.i have a vance & hines on mine,sounds awesome.The kerkers usually fit bikes better.I had to bend rear mount on pipe a bit to make mine fit.
my bad,i have 650's on the brain. The kawi inline fours of that year were runnin 2 valve heads still i think,and slapping around the new 4-valve hondas and suzukis.anymatter
They sound better without the baffle, but your neighbors will hate you.

kerker always made the nice sounding headers for the older kx and the gs models not sure if they make them for the newer models they sound so good

i just bought a kz 550 with the kerker 4 into 1 and the original sport front ferring
for 700$ doesnt run but thats due to the carbs but thats no big deal
