  • Great job!

  • that a mousehole? i mean the anvil lol

  • Man, I would pay alot for that stad!

make a website for stands an sell them.

    You could earn alot!

  • Definetly would love plans, it is nice setup

  • Very nice stand....would love to have the plans for this base, as my anvil is approx. the same size.

  • @Homesteadforge I don't have any plans drawn up but I can put together a video that has more specific measurements & things to consider when designing you own anvil base.

  • @theironworkshop That would be great....The base seems very versatile and I like the way you planned for the attachments

  • very nice i like the design lot of good ideas cant wait to start my new stand

  • you have put a lot of effort into this, and its paid of good concepts :D

  • I dabbled in blacksmithing when i was younger. I made my first forge from a cinder block burning bbq charcoal with just a large slap of steel for an anvil. But seeing this makes me want to spend some savings and get back into it.

  • Wow! My compliments. You are a real engineer. Great Ideas.

  • Wow.

  • Yeah I will be on concrete. But I am thinking I could anchor the thing to the floor if need be! Thanks for uploading the video! I'm heading out to the shop right now!

  • I really like the design, as I stated earlier, But My main question is, how bad does that thing jump when you use it? I would thing it's heavy and sturdy but, I can see it jumping around a bit. Either way. I am gonna build one soon!

  • @bosamurai

I haven't had any problems with it jumping around or moving. I'm working on a crushed gravel floor so the base plate is locked in pretty good and the gravel will conform to the shape of the plate. If you have a cement floor you might need to mount this whole thing on wooden runners to give it a stable footing so it doesn't rock or pivot.

  • @bosamurai

Also the clips that hold the anvil really lock it down so the the whole thing acts as a unit so it would take a pretty heavy hammer to get all that jumping around. The only complaint I have so far is that it does hum a little when I'm using a heavy hammer. It's not loud but you can hear it in the videos

  • That is a great design! I have some I beam that will come in handy for just such a stand! thanks for the Ideas and inspiration!
