  • The merc could have EASILY kept going once he avoided the first accident, who stops in the middle of a highway? lol

  • NO I don't know the merc driver and do not work for ITV. I work as an expert witness.

The lorry driver is clearly at fault. Watch the video the lorry catches the Merc up, gets too close to stop and when the driver of the merc has to slow down very quickly and come to a stop because of the driver in front of him suddenly taking the off slip too early, the lorry driver is too close to be able to stop.

Put this in court and the lorry driver will be found guilty. Period.

  • @MazdaChef i very much doubt that indeed, the gap is more than suffiecent between vehicles and the merc had a gap to keep going it failed to do so therefore it would be questionable, the fact is this is a very common form of crash for cash

  • @MazdaChef and we know who's side your testimony is paid to benefit. It is a swoop and stop. well known, and very popular. Follow the paper and you'll likely find mutiple doctors, dozens of "passengers" and corrupt lawyers.

  • @MrTONYTONYM doubt it. (second sentence)

  • Now this makes us wonder if this is the 'real' reason accidents happen? A lot of reports in our local paper about accidents.

    Just a thought.

  • Why are you blaming the driver of the Mercedes? It is the black hatchback infront of him who caused the collision.

  • Merc driver is guilty of reckless driving but the lorry driver is still responsible for the damage to the car in front.

  • Total Scam. I had a similar incident happen with a taxi cab driver... Fortunately I am a nimble driver and was able to avoid striking him... Unfortunately My tire rolled off the rim causing me to collide with a barrier totaling my car.... If Only I had a Camera to prove!

P.S. I love how the Lorry driver says "Fucking idiot!"

  • bus driver is guilty

  • Ummmmmm dude u got scammed

  • This is NO crash for cash. It shows a lorry driver not concentrating on what he is doing and NOT keeping enough distance.

A car in front of the Merc suddenly slows down having missed its junction and turns left.

The Merc driver keeping the correct distance has to slow rapidly and comes almost to a halt. The lorry driver hits a car that has stopped for good reason.

Sue the lorry driver - the evidence is clear that it was the lorry driver who was at fault.

  • @MazdaChef Yup, probably because you were the merc driver, and you got busted, The wagon driver should have not bothered braking but just full forced shunted the merc through the sign. Its wankers like the merc driver that make us pay over the odds for out car insurance.

  • @monkehbitch

Only the FOOL breaks the two second rule!

The lorry driver is the fool - NOT the merc driver!

  • @MazdaChef Wow, You work for ITV? Try telling the Merc prick that then? The Wagon driver has a lot more weight to slow down, and was probably driving economically, Letting up on the throttle. You must be blind, thick or inbred to not notice this... Driving a Mazda probably drops you into all 3 of those categories.

  • @MazdaChef lorry driver is atleast 4 seconds behind the merc, and even decreases speed to make up for the hesitancy of the drivers in front if you care to notice that part.

  • @MazdaChef Sue the lorry driver? More like charge the merc driver with dangerous driving! His missed his junction (or just a scam imo). It was too late to take the junction, he had gone too far! I assume you're a friend of the merc driver, because every other person who watches this realizes the merc was completely in the wrong, and I assume a judge would agree with me!

  • I like how people think this is a genuine accident :S mercedes even kept the brakes on for ages after the golf had gone to ensure collision.

  • That was so obviously an accident, you dumb son of a bitch!

  • I always thought that anyone who rear ends another car is always at fault. Keeping your distance is one of the first things you learn when learning to drive.

This may have been a scam, but I can't honestly see how the police didn't find the driver of the lorry at fault for not keeping his distance, and as they put it, 'Driving with undue attention.'

  • I have asked for video camera in my truck....would help in this situation....Glad the scamming bastards got nabbed

  • No crash for cash here, the car stopped because of the vehicle missed his exit in front of him slamming the brakes. Sorry just wrong place at the wrong time. Gotta keep your eyes open and moving as a professional driver and expect that when coming up to left hand exits.

  • @dbj1124 A trucks breaks is a bit slower that the cars

  • @dbj1124 On later inspection the insurance company involved deemed the video to be suspect and handed it over to the Police. After a long investigation the police have busted a huge crash for cash ring involving over 120 incidents in the last year, possibly totalling more than £3m of insurance fraud! This clearly demonstrates the advantage of having a RoadHawk forward facing GPS black box video camera recorder to your vehicle.

  • @dbj1124 It was clearly a scam. I have a feeling that the 2 cars knew each other. The Merc braked and stopped. Why did he not continue to drive? And if you look at the direction of the car, he turned slightly to the left and his left brake light is not working too!

  • Wrong - see the judgements here -

  • co to za program ten GPS :?

  • bet you they were dirty disease carrying (immigrants) probably packy's........................ if not well i'm wrong...????

  • @truck501 F**K you, racist scum don't deserve to be in our country with that attitude....f**k you, PRICK

  • @bartij AND NETHER DO THE DIRTY LITTLE RATS THAT THAT CAUSED THE ACCIDENT paki lover....

  • @truck501 youre right, 2 pakis got out of the merc.

  • praise to the lorry drivers quick thinking of using the emergency brakes hence the beeping

  • @CR125MANIAC also the twat in the merc was following far to close

  • The merc driver knew what he was doing! scamming prick.

  • doesn't look deliberate. the merc was just a bit slow taking off after the twat in the golf decided to turn at the last minute. crash for cash usually is low speed impacts, ie traffic lights where there is little chance of them actually getting hurt

  • Thanks to pricks like this my insurance cost has tripled.

  • Defiantely a scam. he stopped when he had to chance to move forward. Then suddenly put on his emergency lights. Looks like his done it before.

  • There are a multitude of reasons why vehicles may slow down unexpectedly. Advanced drivers should always be prepared for this. There is no acceptable excuse for the HGV to rear end the cars. I drive buses and coaches and I have lost count of the amount of times that car drivers have hit their brakes hard in an attempt to make me rear end them. Maintaining a good gap (3secs) and reducing speed in accordance to what is going on ahead and you will never rear end another vehicle.

  • @DBRMatrix So even if someone pulled directly in front of you and performed an emergency stop, your skills would allow you to stop an HGV in time an avert a collision? Either you possess superhuman skills or you are full of something smelly.

  • @mikerjuk You have not understood. There are situations on the road that are obviously unavoidable.. The basic principle is that if traffic in front of you begins to slow down, you too should slow down maintaining a gap that allows you the best chance to stop safely.. This video typically shows a driver too willing to get close to the vehicle ahead and, or simply reacts too late to the situation ahead...Those of you who hold an advanced driver license will understand..

  • Shame everyone in the Merc didn't snap their necks.

  • Interesting... undoubtedly in a legal sense the truck driver should have maintained a greater gap - not always viable to do though. On it's own this video would be sufficient for a claim by the merc driver, that was a pretty big impact. Law is clear - any driver should only maintain a speed that they are able to stop within

  • Regardless of the accomplice cutting off the the car causing the driver to brake quickly the driver that hit them should have maintained a safe distance. That car was clearly within the gore point on the road. I would anticipate that if the driver that hit him would have swerved into the off ramp that car still would have swerved into the off ramp as well to cause the accident. However the driver that hit him should have maintained a safer distance to aid in reaction time.

  • definatly a scam - the golf didnt actually stop the merc was still braking after his path was clear - the wagon was very unlucky - ok he was close but not too much but those are the ones they pick on as they dont actually want to get hurt!!

  • There's a minimum safe distance for a reason, it's the distance you're supposed to keep to ensure that if the car in front of you has to brake hard (for whatever reason), you will still be able to brake in time.

  • i have exactly same situation on A2, London ... then i smash with 32T weight scania BMW X5...

look at mercedes driver, he not get shocked , he straight swich on accident lights, looks what he be ready for this =)

  • camera vehicle didnt react to black car braking let alone the merc.... too close simple as...

  • that is a classic exaple of a tw@t not concentrating (in the car) and deciding at the last minute they want to cut across the lanes and exit at the same time as slamming on the brakes the person at fault here is the person in the black car for cutting up the mercedes.

  • @328ibmw1 Mate, it's an insurance scam. The Merc and the Golf are working together. The Golf acts as a decoy purposely swerving off, giving the Merc a reason to brake suddenly.

And all of those people in the Merc would then go on to make whiplash claims. Nothing to do with the lorry driver or his concentration. Plus, I'd love to see you stop an LGV as quick as a car...

  • @thewildncrazyoli Im a truck driver mate I know how they handle and how they stop im saying he could have stopped in time I know he couldnt im saying that its not necessarily a crash for cash and could just be a twat in the golf

  • The lorry driver was probably texting and not concentrating.

  • Crash for cash ? I'm not sure. It may have been but if the lorry driver had left the minimum 2 second gap he would have stopped. Look when the car in front goes over the tip of the white arrow. Then count "only a fool breaks the 2 second rule" You will get to "Only a fool" and then the lorry is in the same position. Too close, we all make mistakes but they didn't suddenly pull in front and brake.

Hard way to learn a lesson. I will get one of these for my own car. Got 1 at work, it's brilliant.

  • @ukrodgers you think you are able to stop a large vehicle within a second?

  • @Mickygemma I know you can't, I drive one. Because of this I know you need to keep a bigger gap, as I wrote. It's the gap that is recommended by examiners and instructors.

  • @ukrodgers very true

  • I don't know how strict road laws are for big trucks where this is, but here in the U.S. (assuming your not already in the U.S.) The Department of Transportation is very strict toward truck drivers and will find you liable one way or another in an accident. My company will not pay for this, but I will by one myself simply for my own protection. If it can be afforded, every operator, should do the same. And, you could use it in your personal vehicle also.

  • I am sure he says something under his breath just after the crash, like "Bloody Idiot".

  • I want one of these for my lorry but despite our company being victem of these 3 times and on the same road and same junction they will not pay for it :(

  • i dont get why did he stop near the slip road whilst being on a motorway lane still!

  • @PwinceCharminAmin Read the feckin description

  • @ihatechavies LOL sorry my bad only just realised its a scam :L

  • The people who do this are scum.

  • 2 people was arrested following day in Luton and London following the claim from that Mercedes but the fleet owner submitted the evidence to the cops

  • recall the recent bust on cash for crash cases, understand the video to have been used to bust them :)

  • The lorry was however following too close to the merc to stop safely in the space he had allowed. Wether it was a "crash for cash" or not, he is still guilty of driving without due care & attention (following too close). Whilst the merc had closed the gap between it and the golf, it was oddly enough, able to stop in time - now if collusion could be proven between the golf & merc that's one thing, but importantly, it did stop in the space between it and the golf, unlike the lorry.

  • @cyberprog Don't be stupid. He was leaving at least a 3 second gap between him and the Merc. If he had been tailgating then he would have been a whole lot closer and would not have matched his speed to the car in front of him whilst leaving a good gap. The point of cash for crashes is that they are meant to look like accidents otherwise insurance companies would see right through them. The collusion was proven, they were all part of a huge cash for crash ring,...

  • @cyberprog ... so the reason the Merc stopped in time is not that it left an adequate gap to stop in, but because the driver knew that the Golf was going to jam on the brakes and swerve off on to the sliproad. It is impossible for this to be a real accident: if you watch from the point where the truck move in to the left lane then you'll see the Merc close right up to the Golf and there is no way that any driver could have reacted in the gap he had (at best .5 seconds at the start of the slip).

  • @TheDarkangel025 Did he manage to come to a dead halt in the space he had allowed between him and the merc? No, then he was not leaving a sufficient gap to stop in time. It's simple!

Judging by the height, I'm going to say this was either a 18+ tonne vehicle, or an artic tractor. A quick google suggests that he should have left approx 5-6 seconds to stop at least, with half a second of air-brake lag :)

That equates to between 365ft to 482ft of space.
