I have always like Julian Bream the best. You can catch some of the best of his technique here and there amongst the other video stuff. I am definitely going to practice today. I promise.
Video etc not made solely for guitarists to paw over but for music lovers of all kinds to enjoy. Being the first guitarist ( though not AS a guitarist) to go to the Royal Academy he was always determined that his playing should be about music -not just playing the guitar brilliantly.
this is an exerpt from "guitarra"- a 6-part history of the guitar in spain, and how it reflects spanish culture and history, with bream's playing and narrating throughout. it's a must see if you're a bream fan.
This is the best recording of this piece i've ever heard. Its true to the classical style, is very expressive and just a typically brilliant bream performance!

plod plod , i love bream but he wrecks the Mozart theme , it just is podding along, it is meant to be frivolous and light ,
bigmuso123 3 years ago
Be sure, Bream really knows why he ,,wrecks the Mozart there".
