  • wanna be winners, first you gotta dress like winners.

  • 1:28. big tackle.

  • That was when the Hawkeyes had some swagger.........I'll always be a fan though

  • If only the gaps were getting filled this year by the LB. When Pat Angerer was there and the D line that existed, there were few holes if any to get through. Now you see 10-15 yr runs....

  • He was easily the best fumbler and one of the best linebacker duos with A.J. Edds.

  • Awesome !

I am going to a football camp where Pat will be coaching this summer.. I CANT WAIT

  • watch the tackle at 1:26

    HE GOT SMOKED

  • @wdsdude that was nothing!!

  • know his cousin

  • GO HAWKEYES!

  • is this a McDonald's commercial???

  • Gonna have a good Career with the Colts. Gary Brackett's going to teach him alot.

  • I just think his last name is pretty sick.

  • Pat Angerer= Future Bust

    Illinois owns

  • @ILLINI4LIFE1 Illinois sucks, I don't know what you're smoking.

  • @TKwarrior17 r u kidding me? wow i guess having 2 first rounders in previous years and going to a rose bowl suks

  • @ILLINI4LIFE1 Wow, I guess emphasis on individual effort is important there.

    Illionois still sucks.

  • @TKwarrior17 did i not say we went to a rose bowl? pretty sure i did

  • @ILLINI4LIFE1 Yeah you went to a Rose Bowl. And lost. Almost half of Division 1 schools have been to a Rose Bowl. That doesn't make you good by any means.

  • @ILLINI4LIFE1 Every school in the Big Ten has been to a Rose Bowl. Just because Ilinois has been there doesn't impress me.

  • @TKwarrior17 ya but illinois isnt just awesome at football, they have agreat history with basketball, something iowa cant say

  • Comment removed

  • @ILLINI4LIFE1 You've already been proven wrong about Angerer too. He had an awesome game tonight, filling in for the injured Gary Brackett. He had two TFLs, a sack, 2 pass break-ups, and 8 tackles total. That's a good day for Ray Lewis, let alone a 2nd rounder.

  • @TKwarrior17

although he bites too much on play action and still makes rookie mistakes. But overrall, i think and hope that he'll learn and be able to start soon. Maybe not replacing brackett, but possibly replacing wheeler at OLB. God knows how lost Wheeler looks out there.

  • @183288 Every rookie makes rookie mistakes. Peyton Manning threw 28 INTs his rookie year and look where he's at.

  • @TKwarrior17 I understand that, but i think he's going to progress nicely... i hope they give him more playing time. I think he could definantly be a future starter.

  • @183288 Yeah. Football is a game of progression, and by that I mean improvement. It's not like golf, basketball or tennis where raw talent is more important. Hard work, scrappiness, and brains are more impactful as a football player. Of course, talent is a major factor, but if you couple that with the above qualities, you get yourself one heck of a football layer. That's what Pat Angerer is, and he is bound to improve by leaps and bounds.

  • @TKwarrior17 that was against an overrated team. if u watch the tapes, he didnt even hit hard in college. they r gonna break nthose tackles so easy in the nfl

  • @ILLINI4LIFE1 Do you not know anything about football? And did you not watch him play last Sunday against the Redskins? He had a sack, five tackles, two for loss. That's a good day for any linebacker.

  • @TKwarrior17 ya i do and the redskins r horrible. its not hard to have a good game against them

  • @ILLINI4LIFE1 It's hard to have a good game against any team in the NFL. It's nothing like college football. The worst team in the NFL would beat the best college team by more than 50 points, every time.

  • @TKwarrior17 well jeez ppl have good games all the time if he is "good enough" to make the pros it shuldnt b that hard

  • @ILLINI4LIFE1 You're just trying to find every possible avenue to claim that he is not a good football player, when, contrary to your convictions, he was selected in the second round of the NFL Draft.

It's also safe to say that Bill Polian is the best GM in the league, and he knows talent when he sees it. Rarely have the Colts had a draft bust with him making the picks. Tony Ugoh has really been the only bust the Colts have drafted from the first three rounds.

  • @TKwarrior17 well he isnt good! ppl r gonna break his tackles!

  • @ILLINI4LIFE1 He's good enough for the NFL, which means he's a great football player by anyone's standards. They only let a few hundred people play in the pros each year, and he's one of them. That's an achievement in itself. You saying he isn't good is like me saying the Illini are awesome. There's mounds of evidence to the contrary of both of those statements.

  • @TKwarrior17 how r the illini not awesome!? vontae davis, rashard mendenhall, and arrelious ben! and we r awesome this year

  • @ILLINI4LIFE1 I could name great players from a whole bunch of schools. A few good players doesn't make your team great. Ben Chappell at IU is the best quarterback in the Big Ten, but he doesn't have much of a supporting cast so he won't impress anyone until he goes pro.

That's fine that you're an Illini fan. Whatever. But I'm not going to lie to you and say that Tulsa is a great team this year since they beat Notre Dame, who was missing their starting QB and RB.

  • @ILLINI4LIFE1 That's great that you're an Illionois fan, but don't try to lie to people. At least be reasonable.

  • @TKwarrior17 well they are good! just look at their record stupid!

  • @ILLINI4LIFE1 You could say that about half the teams in the NCAA. Doesn't impress anyone. Maybe if Illinois was ranked it would be more impressive. But they aren't. Which makes you stupid, stupid.

  • @TKwarrior17 wow just cuz ur not ranked in the polls doesnt mean they rnt good. u hav no common sense

  • @ILLINI4LIFE1 That doesn't matter to me. They aren't fun to watch, they don't upset good teams (ones that ARE ranked), and they don't have many dynamic players that are good NFL prospects. Why would I want to watch Illinois football when I could watch Auburn, Oregon, Iowa, Michigan (Denard Robinson makes them fun to watch), Wisconsin, and Alabama? Illinois may be in the better half of the 120 division 1 teams, but that doesn't really make them good. But keep on telling yourself that.

  • @TKwarrior17 not fun to watch eh? 65 points today! even if we lost u cant tell me thats not fun and the fact that it was 3 ots

  • @ILLINI4LIFE1 Illinois will never have a game like that again. So yeah, I'll pretty much ignore them the rest of the season since their chances at a conference championship are gone, and they'll likely play in a no-name bowl against a no-name team. I don't even watch IU football often and I'm an IU fan (more of basketball though). It's just not entertaining because they are the worst 2nd-half team ever. They could be up by 30 going into halftime and still lose.

  • @TKwarrior17 we always score a lot! its always fun

  • his brother lives down the street from me

  • HawkeyeShawn, you make my penis hard

  • One of my favorites you've done yet.

  • im sambo iowas future rapper got to meet one of angeres relatives

  • He looked pretty fantastic in his first preseason game. I hope they find ways to get him some play time.

  • He'll get a fair amount of playing time this year. And not just on special teams. The colts often use 4-2-5 nickel packages with Brackett and another undersized solid cover LB. Jordan Senn and Freddie Keiaho filled the role in the last couple seasons and Pat should be a solid upgrade in those situations. Guy's got a great sense of humor too. Really looking forward to him being on the Colts these upcoming years.

  • Pat, congratulations on being selected by the AFC Champion Indianapolis Colts. I know that you are excited and looking forward to August 15 when you make your pro debut in Lucas Oil Stadium against the San Francisco 49ers. But be prepared to work your behind off more than ever. I know that the Colts' goal is to make it back to and WIN the Super Bowl this year. Best of luck.

  • I think he just needs some polishing and strength training at this point and the direction from his NFL team to make him into a possible impact player. I think he tackles a little high at times, but thats the physical nature of Angerer. He wants to take your head off. He is a very intelligent player and knows where to be and when. I hope to see him starting in the NFL someday!

  • Its troy palamalu jr

  • Colts are gunna dominate next year. Pat, Jerry, and KT are gunna help Indy's D so much.

  • @McJusticeface U CAN'T WAIT TO SEE OUR DEFENSE NEXT YEAR

  • Vuna, bracket, sessions our 3 starting linebackers next season u heard it here 1st

  • i freaking love this guys name and his play seems to back it up. Welcome to the Colts, I have a feeling your going to do great things for us

  • Actually the Colts are considering several unconventional personnel packages on defense for next year that could technically be called 3-4 (3 down linemen, 4 linebackers). Hughes is for the most part going to be a pure DE, in the mold of Freeney and Mathis, but because he has more than a token amount of zone cover ability, having him in the "joker" role will allow a lot more than gimmicky zone blitz packages. But to make the package more legit, they really needed a larger size SAM than Angerer.

  • I get that they want to change things up and experiment. And that's great. All I was ever really saying to the other guy was that a standard 3-4 base wouldn't be particularly effective. I also haven't been as impressed with the Colts use of the Joker package at various times in the season. But I'm no strategist so I am open to seeing new ways of positioning guys that I haven't considered. I do like Angerer a lot though. SAM or MIKE the kid should have a huge impact.

  • @dejonal

I don´t think that will be good dude, the Colts need stay in 4-3D, let he Play at the Middle and maybe outside, and let that DEs pressure in the QB, that will force mistakes and that D will be better.

    That is what i think

  • @sergiotim

Angerer have pretty decent cover skills to play MLB, (as evidenced in this vid).

  • I wanted him in the Bears =/

  • Good draft pick by the Colts, they should switch to 3-4 defense and let him play cover LB with Brackett, Keiaho, and Wheeler causing havoc on D.

  • @dejonal kiaho got cut didnt he?? its all bout clint session!

  • @GackSlayer

I hope they didn't cut him, Keiaho is pretty good and the second best LB behind Brackett (third when they had Cato June.

  • Good lord no. No offense but the Colts going 3-4 would be a tremendous mistake. They have nothing resembling a NT. In fact DT is our biggest weakness on D. Also you completely negate our absolute biggest value on D, Freeny and Mathis.

They are the quintessential 4 man DEs, smaller, quicker pass rushers. They would be much less effective in a 3-4 because in a 3-4 DEs are essentially no different than DTs, just a tad smaller usually. That would completely destroy our pass rush.

  • @jdlund

the 3-4 Defense would mean they can still rely on Mathis and Freeney for pass rushing but send either a MLB on a unexpected blitz. IDK about real-life but the shit is flawless on Madden 10 Franchise LOL

  • That's why you can't rely completely on Madden 10. There's a reason why it's rare to see 3-4 ends racking up sacks. It's because they are buried into the O-Line more.

There are good inside pass rushers like Haynesworth or Sapp, but that style of play is very different from how Freeny and Mathis operate. Freeny and Mathis would not be nearly as good as 3-4 ends and it would also make the Colts run D a lot worse.

I know 3-4 is all the rage in the league but Colts work much better as 4-3.

  • @jdlund again, the Colts already use "Joker" packages. The classic 3-4 is only one of several 3 down linemen, 4 backer sets. A standard "pro" package 3-4 is what you are describing. What 3-4 teams use on 1st and 2nd down primarily, with only two gap linemen on the field (bigger ends).

  • I get that there are multiple ways of setting up the 3-4 shell. The problem I'd still have with any 3-4 as the base is, given the tackles the Colts have, I don't see any way of positioning Freeny and Mathis w/o effectively surrendering either the pass rush or the inside run game most downs.

They did dip into the joker package more this season (which I never thought was particularly effective) in large part due to Freeny's health issues. Their 4-2-5 works much better than their 3-3-5 ever has.

  • @jdlund

ya. without ?. every single piece of their front 7 is tuned for 4-3 cept maybe session. was some idiot suggesting they use 3-4 to utilize angerer right away or somethin.

  • @qpcomma1, something like that. Actually they were asserting that the 3-4 "worked when they tried it on Madden." I'm just glad that the real life team isn't going to try it.

Anyway, I think they could work Angerer in either on the outside or as Brackett's back-up.

  • As long as Sanders can stay healthy.

  • It will be fun see him and Bob Sanders on the same field

  • Richterz I'm right there with you. Checking out the latest genius picks by the colts. I saw a video taped before the draft where an analyst called Jerry Hughes underrated and said he should go mid first round. Nope Colts snagged him at 31.

  • Every thing colts are building a defense for the future?wtf they need offensive draft picks for ?

  • Im guessing im not the only one who looks at vids of whoever the colts drafted?

  • bad pick for the colts. when jordan shipley is on the board. but maybe he will turn out to be something special

  • wlcome to the colts buddy

  • Well, the guy's a colt.

  • I am a little confused by this for the Colts. He's a good player but they already have Brackett in the middle. Just seems like they have more pressing needs.

  • @jdlund Hes a SAM (same position Wheeler plays) and Polian said if he doesnt play at SAM he could learn and back-up all 3 LB positions and with how often our LB's seem to get injured he might be starting mid season...

  • I could see that. He'd be a good strong side presence. We did have issues at linebacker last season, that is true. The more I read and see about this kid the more I really like him. I'm assuming they'll make Hughes an pass rushing OLB, but I suppose they could just him in rotation with Freeny and Mathis.

Either way, the Colts made some very necessary improvements to the D. I like the Kevin Thomas pick a lot.

  • Welcome to the Colts!

  • denver broncos could get this kid to fill a void at LB mcclain is just huge and has is brolly and strong but to be that big his tackling is okay. Needs coaching but this guy has a motor. and intensity and descent feet and quickness. Has the size to play in a 3-4 . he would come seond round to top of the 3rd easily. If other teams dont have him higher.

  • I dont see anything special

  • Come be teammates with Chad Greenway :)

  • Scary thought, running into a pissed off Pat Angerer, Bob Sanders and Mitch King in a dark alley. Or just as bad, Greenway, Hodge and Clayborn. Damn I love Iowa Defense. "Norm only needs 8 toes to kick your ass"

  • see u in denver

  • He gets knocked out at 2:00 but someone shakes him awake haha. He played the rest of the game too.

  • reminds me of Zach Thomas

  • this song sucks dick, angerer is just badass though

  • MEGADETH!!!!!!!!!!!!!....Go Hawks!

  • Dude is a beast

  • you sound like all of those jets fans that bitched about picking greene last year and look what he did for them

  • Get him in the second round if Spikes or Spoon aren't their Reese!!!

  • come on browns!!!

  • This is what I love about College Football. Especially on Defense, everyone is playing with so much chemistry, teamwork, and watching out for one another. I wish NFL can be more like this.

  • he needs to stay in black and gold

  • ummm...he prlly would if he wasn't a senior...but since he is i'm hoping he has a great NFL career...and everyone is right that he has like the best LB name ever!!! If A.J. Edds decides to try to go pro, cuz i'm not sure if he is, I think he could have an excellant career as well at an OLB spot...

  • i'm talking steelers bro

  • AWESOME

too bad they can't play year around

  • I go to the same high school as brett greenwood did, their FS and brett and pat wen't to rival schools, and pat killed us EVERY TIME!

  • i went to the same high school as DJK in youngstown, ohio, he was an amazing qb he could do anything, 86-79

  • 3:25 is my favorite clip of Pat. He has such great instincts and can really fill the hole and he shows on that play against MSU.

  • Great video. Nice job. Perfect song.

  • nice video man

  • sorry but this song is perfect for an Angerererer video. Rap sucks.

  • Great video. Not my choice of song but great video nonetheless.

Angerer is going to make some NFL team very happy they got him.

  • Angerer is a Very underrated Linebacker
