You should deffinitly buy this game. the ai is great, the custimazation is amazing, the roster is huge, and the character slots is some where around 300 +! its like 500 total characters. obviously you sacrafice visual for game play, but at least the sprites look good.
There are 321-odd wrestlers already created, and you can create 500 more. There's also a list of premade heads, so the guys you make can look sickly similar to the real things.

I don't mean to be an asshole about this, but why do people insist on using the TNA logo in a TNA ring/WWE logos in WWE rings, etc. in FPW Returns? TNA doesn't have their logo in the ring, and the WWE never had logos in theirs (they did as WWF LONG ago, but never as WWE).

Yes I know it was I own a copy. It was called Fire Pro Wrestling G. If you compare FPR with FPG then you would know that the PS1's hardware could not handle FPR. I am very well oriented with PC hardware as well as console hardware.
nope this game has more strategy and a steeper learning curve than those games there isnt even a grapple button. you just walk up to the wrestler and it automatically grabs them. the name of the game is PERSICE button presses. this game isnt for button mashers

I can't see how Gameplay would be 4/10. I have always hated in the SmackDown games where you can pretty much tell when a match is going to end. Let it run about 2-3 minutes, hit your finisher and it's over. With Fire Pro you don't get any of that (unless you create your edits to do so). Every match in Fire Pro is always "pay-per-view" quality where anything can happen and that is thanks to it's amazing control and superb game design.
The graphics? It's not going to win any awards but the general consumer should know what they are getting when they buy this title at their local store.
i love this game so far. ive only had it for like 2 days. the menus suck and making things is so confusing, but when i figure it all out, its gonna rock. Also i think WWE needs to take a hint on this and make Super No Mercy. update videos, music, some V/O and add a ton of wrestlers and moves. would be the best game ever

this is the game that is supposed to compete with svr08. graphics 3/10. game play 4/10. creating pretty little logos. 10/10. congratulations we have got ourselves the most overated game since.......wait for it....................................i.m lost

I can't see how Gameplay would be 4/10. I have always hated in the SmackDown games where you can pretty much tell when a match is going to end. Let it run about 2-3 minutes, hit your finisher and it's over. With Fire Pro you don't get any of that (unless you create your edits to do so). Every match in Fire Pro is always "pay-per-view" quality where anything can happen and that is thanks to it's amazing control and superb game design.

i love this game so far. ive only had it for like 2 days. the menus suck and making things is so confusing, but when i figure it all out, its gonna rock. Also i think WWE needs to take a hint on this and make Super No Mercy. update videos, music, some V/O and add a ton of wrestlers and moves. would be the best game ever

Actually Midway is making the TNA game that is based on the No Mercy game. FPW-R can beat the shit outta that crappy ass game of WWE's. WWE SUCKS!!!!

I guess the game echoes the fans really. If you want good looking but soulless, go for Smackdown, and if you prefer wrestling to presentation values, get this - the game for Smarks
