  • Not the best choice of music but good video. I'm considering moving to somewhere around Wolcott to Watertown. Not sure where yet but I love the cold and love the snow. I don't know why so many people can't enjoy the weather they get whether it be rain, snow, sleet, wind or thunderstorms. All are cool.

  • Great place, gotta love the outdoors, and learn to love the cold, or you'll go crazy. Watertown has done a lot to preserve the "Mom and Pop" business district, "Downtown". If you need the suburbs, try Watertown or Adams center.

If you like the country, anywhere else.

Just south of Watertown is really the snowbelt, just north, it lightens up a bit.

The town on the St Lawrence have a cool "maritime" vibe, you'll pray for the winter, to drive away all the tourists.

  • Consider St Lawrence County!

  • If we got weather like this in the UK, we'd all buy snow blowers and plows & deal with it. I don't understand why ppl are so mystified by our in ability to cope with freak weather, I am 44 and this is the first winter I have seen like this one, so why would councils buy equipment to deal with weather they get every 45 years? They would have to buy it maintain it and re-new it every 10 years without using it, then you'd all be crying that they are spunking ur money on shit they don't use.

  • we usually get more snow on the hill... :) but we could use a storm like this to get the trails back in shape

  • If we had that here in the UK we would all die.

  • i'm originally from Lowville. I later moved to Harrisville. I hated the winters so much i moved South but not south enough. I now reside in Maryland, and to tell you the truth, their winters here are alot like back home. People, yes i miss them...but the weather? heck no!

  • lol

  • OMG, I lived in that puke hole Watertown for a year thanks to the Army stationing my hubby at Ft Drum!!!! (what did we ever do to them!??) I'm so glad to be outta that place!!!! It was sooo cold, dated, and downright BORING!

  • buy a snowmobile... embrace the cold it provides one of the last innocent family hobbies. Unlike many other family activities you don't have to be rich or travel to some mountain or coastal city. you can pull the sleds outta the shed and ride right from you back yard.

  • NO way man, I'm from Texas...theres no way we would ever "embrace" the cold. Lmao. And FYI there are MANY other innocent family hobbies as you call them, here in Texas too! And it DOESN'T require -30 degree wether..

  • true that is not lake effect but its lake enhanced snow fall cause that looks like a damn blizzard

  • it is snow but it is not lake effect snow, if it was lake effect snow you wouldnt be able to see anything, almost like someone putting a white sheet over your car window. Now that is lake effect.

  • I remember that shit I had to drive from Sandy Creek to Watertown in that fun,fun shit. I'm glad to be away from all that now though

  • Anybody has an Oswego county snow removal or clearing link you can send me please?

  • now thats what i call some serious snow

  • i fucking love driving in the snow in my awd mountaineer

  • I live here XD

  • You people should try living in the tug hill area. Lake effect big time. Put up with 8 years of that shit. If you like snow thats the place to be in NY state. Me, I got the hell out. Still thawing out. Burrrr!

  • now thats some fucking snow i love it

  • i live in the U.P of Michigan and we also get lake effect thats why all the houses in my neighborhood have doors in their attics incase the snow gets two high

  • I grew up in Watertown and live in Florida now, so this was fun to watch. But I had to turn the sound off. That was brutal.

  • global warming is one thing...im from fulton and this happens every winter...move to AZ like i did, it's a little nicer.

  • Wonder what the dumbass Al Gore would say about this global warming

  • This freak lake effect snow can be part of global warming, because since it was warm there was no ice on the lakes and they were warm from that time of year. Then the outragously cold air came over very warm water and here was the result.

  • Lake Ontario is always 95% ice free any winter so the global warming theory isn't really applying to Lake Ontario. Lake Erie western basin freezes over and severely lessens the Lake effect threat in the later months of winter.

  • Ya it will have to get really cold to freeze a body of water that big.

  • This 2007 lake effect event had a lot to do with warm temperatures. In December 2006 it was very warm. It didn't really get cold until January. The problem wasn't that Lake Ontario didn't have ice (it hardly ever does), the problem was that the water was still so warm. Then some cold air from Canada finally came down... and that set the stage for a snow explosion.

  • Do you usually have snow cover for the entire winter?

  • Include 'usually & entire'

Yes, usually. What a ridiculously ("-"; implied) seeming word "usually" is.

  • nice video a good start you should make it longer the music is the best

  • Lack of footage, my friend. I know what works and what doesn't and I just don't have the video. I think I still get my point across.

  • i like the video it's cool and yeah it does get the point across but i think it would be cool if you made it longer you know like the whole length of the song

  • What would you have me do, show snowflakes falling for the duration? I don't have enough aggressive video to match the soundtrack.

    Thanks for the input.

  • Can you imagine what would have happened if this much snow hit NYC ha-ha-ha. They get a few inches of snow and they cry for help from the rest of the state. You notice there's still vehicles on the road, we just keep going and going and going. And I've been to Arizona, it's nothing to brag about except for the Grand Canyon.

  • Does Lake Ontario ever freeze? NOT !!

    Another global warming dumbass.

  • It doesn't actually freeze, but it should have been skimmed-over with enough ice and slush in January to prevent the excessive lake-effect snow we saw in the first half of February - but not this winter!

  • ya i'm from oswego, check my vid for intense amounts of snow

  • I'm in Arizona and I just have to say to you people living that life...it was 75 degrees today so we went swimming. I think I got a little sunburned! HAAHAA!!

  • Idiot, snow is beautiful. We feel sorry for your ass.

  • My condolences Duckzilla67. I like snow but this is just wrong! Has anybody been able to make it into work yet?

  • hey duck I live in castorland, ny. right down the road from you. And to think this is the mildest winter we had in a long time.

  • It was so mild my nephews had to shovel a path for their snowmobiles just so that they could make a circuit to ride on! Think we got it bad? I'm sure I don't have to tell you this but parts of Oswego County are reporting over 120" of snow, much of which fell over a 5 day period.

    Thanks for the input, buddy.

  • im in northern ct and we have only gotten 3 inches of snow this year. It's ridiculous.

Where is the snow? The polar and suptropical jet streams aren't comming together this season.

  • i could only dream of snow like that on long island ,,
