  • omg that were insane!! such a great guitarist. imagine if he were in drop b tuning on maximum distortion!! no metal guitarist could compete with that i like mettalica and iron maiden but they would have nothing on this guy thats for sure. ive never heard the A minor scale being brought out like that ever!!! pinnacle of guitar playing full stop

  • I love Gary's Music, but this song musn't be played without keys or even a hammond.....my opinion

  • @Dagag90 what do you mean by keys? sounds like A minor to me and im sure its a les paul? correct if im wrong dude i like to learn.

  • @cjkeegan100 You're kidding :-P no, i'm only joking...

With keys i mean keyboard or "even a hammond organ" ;-)

listen to other versions of this song, and you'll know what i mean ;-)

  • Puti je l'adore celle ci ,volubile...

  • UFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

  • Master of Guitar

  • Simply makes the guitar sing!!!!! Moore is phenominal. I do have to admit though that I preferred his earlier work from the '80's. There was a raw power to his playing that he's mellowed away from. Kinda like Clapton did with Creme compared to today......

  • SUSTAINEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE BAM

  • No one plays bends like Gary Moore, no one.

  • @sportsportsport thats debateable

  • Unbelievable sustain from the Peter Green Les Paul sig! I have a '68 LP Custom in very nice condition, I have the equipment to match GM, but that guitar RULES!

  • Most underrated guitarist of all time.

  • IPLAY THIS SONG FROM 49

  • He never met a melody he couldn't overplay.

  • Gary Moore is good.A little old fashioned, but good.

  • @Nevigo i like those old fashioned touches, gives it soul.

  • @19grand

    Yes me too :)

  • World class

  • Gary should've been put in jail for melting so many faces with his awesome guitar tone at a single concert.

  • Gary is the best guitar player....with great feeling.....

  • omg , fantastic , fooking love this geezer , the proper nuts x

  • heh ... from for example at 0:50 and on ... Gary looks a bit like Nick Nolte to me :)

    anyway great playing as allways.

  • @sprojojoing lol

  • @sprojojoing and you look like?????? pfffffff

  • @metalswan1 What do you want to say ? just spit it out so we can concentrate on more interesting stuff that that.

  • the king of blues...

  • aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrttttttttttttt

    pure guinness x

  • El heavy más sentimental de la historia.

  • 2:34 how does gary hold his sustain that long

  • @jona6762 ibanez tube screamer

  • @playmay35 I'm actually pretty sure it's just feedback from his amp. You can do that, and that would make more sense.

  • @playmay35 tht does nothing to help him hold the note it just meks it sound more bluesy

  • @jona6762 hi he get sedd back from a amp thats the trick of it . john

  • @jona6762 it's feedback. dude. tube screamer's for tone, but he lets the note bleed into feedback and thats why it sustains.

  • @jona6762

I remember reading that he uses special pickups, just like Steve Hackett (ex-Genesis). Don't ask me which, I'm not a guitarist.

  • @jona6762 He finds the sweet spot on the stage where the amp begins to feedback. He uses very gain amps like marshall JCM 800 or 900 and those combined with the Les Paul make the note happen. What you don't see is all the sound checking to get that spot and right guitar angle..........but it is impresssive

  • @jona6762 , Gibson Les Paul with potted hot Vintage pick ups, Marshall All TUBE Killer Amp Heads, and his signature fingering/vibrato. The Man RULES

  • @jona6762

First of all, because he use Greens old Les Paul. They are made so they sustain longer than some guitars with through neck.Im not even sure he used a pedal, but IF he did,he has always used Marshalls Guvenor. But the essential tone is because of the Les Paul.

  • @jona6762 that is what i call a Sustaineeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • @jona6762 I hold it with my guitar (LP Std. Premium Plus) and my Marshall amp. And it is important how you hold the guitar or how far you're away from the amp! If you get it, you can hold it without limits :)

  • @jona6762 if you have a guitar like that...the volume up to 100% and a good pedal...well maybe, i think u could too!:p

  • @jona6762 Me thinks it's his MARSHALL AMPS!

  • @jona6762 He's got an electromagnetic sustainer instead of a standard neck pickup indeed. None of existing compressor or overdrive pedals can actually make sustain of that kind. Such sustainers make feedback sustain by putting vibration energy directly into the strings (that's why it's called the real sustain).

  • @jona6762

    he can play!!!

    RIP

  • Fuck. He's just the fucking best. That's all there is to it.

  • @CallumJStewart oh aye aye aye aye fuckin magic ... then some aaaarrrrttt

  • awesome song, he is one of the most best guitarrist in the entire world.

  • beautiful!!

  • Gary Moore is more than a legend.

  • what a fantastic performance,

    what a legend

  • If you want to "chat" why don´t you go to msn ??????

This place is for comment about the MASTER GARY, nobody cares what fucking guitar do you have.

  • @9pablito9 CHILLAXX DUDE !!!!!!!!!!

  • Why is his neck pickup backwards? Like, I mean... The screw adjustment bits are nearer the back... like hes switched the pickup round or something?

  • the peter green/gary moore les paul (Moore sold it a few years ago) also had this, when peter green still owned it, he was supposedly cleaning the pickup so took it out, but accidentally knocked one of the magnets out of it, he stuck it bk in any old way (which happened to be backwards-bass poles under the high strings and vice versa), he also put the pickup cover on upside down, hence the screws being at the bottom (towards the bottome of the guitar.)

  • the result of this was a 'phase' kind of effect (basically the pickups r out of phase) when both pickups r on. It was this sound that was used to record alot of Moore's albums, particularly his blues albums. When Moore had to sell the green/Moore les paul Gibson made the Gary Moore Les paul and wired the pickup to be out of phase just like the original. It is the Gary Moore sig model he is playing here.

  • u can also get a les paul made by vintage that is a copy of the original green/moore les paul which also has the pickup wired out of phase (and alos has all the ,marks the original has although its not perfectly the same, nowhere near the quality of the Gibson/Epiphone sig copy guitars but thats why the vintage is only £300 lol). Pity Gibson didnt decide to make a real copy fo the original green/moore les paul themselves but the vintage is still a good guitar.

  • I did actually know all about the out of phase thing, i dont know why i asked tbh,

but... the thing i dont get is why the pickup is put in backwards... apparently its just cosmetic, because peter green did it... so modders do it too :S

Ive done it to mine too lol

  • yeh, the cover is just cosmetic, apparently, it was all done by accident when peter green did it, but itd be quite hard to knock one of the magnets out by accident lol. But yeh, on Moore's sig model used here, Gibson did the rewiring and stuff and put the cover on like this for aesthetics really.

  • lol. Either way, it makes people think "whaaa? :S"

At a gig the other night i had people come up to me and said "why is your pickups backwards?", im not sure if one of the people was weirded out and thought i was a retard, but one guy was fascinated... might have been drunk though lol

  • lol, yeh, its not the norm haha, but i suppose if ur guiatr has the out of phase thing (aiming at the moore sound) then you have to have it look like the original thing aswell.

  • Yeah well thats what i was aiming for tbh, Im not sure how authentic it looks because my les paul is cherry sunburst. lol but still. sounds good.

    :)

  • wow, my les paul is cherry sunburst aswell haha. is urs plain top or flamed maple top like mine?

probs looks just as authentic as the vintage copy, the vintage is nice and quite good but i remember the real thing having some laquer left whereas the vintage is a matt finish all around, and i remember from somewhere that the original was a sunburst but extremely faded, rather than this 'lemonburst' everyone calls it now, fair enough, but the copy has to have a bit of faded red round the edge.

  • yeah mine is flamed... Im uploading some videos later, have a look you can see it then... also some gary moore stuff ;)

Yeah, I used to have a vintage les paul, the build quality was excellent, one of the very few vintage guitars that ive played that was actually made from mahogany... surpirsed me really...

I really like the colour of gary moore signature, but i wouldnt call it lemon burst... its barely even darker around the edges lol

  • yeh thats what i mean, the sig model is just one 'lemon' colour across, no burst on it really. Id say its an okay looking guitar, I prefer the cherry sunburst, tobacco burst, honey burst etc. The more traditional colours. Is ur les paul now a Gibson, mines an epi, never liked epis, thought the necks were 'sticky' but after trying mine out i changed my mind, love it, it feels almost as good as the gibson les paul i tried a few yrs ago. I'll never forget that gibson, it was perfect.

  • Oh sorry, missed your comment about your guitar, I have a tokai... slightly closer to gibson than epiphone, but, its kind of a disapointment, in its looks, you'll see it in the vids sometime soon, but it feels good to play, i would prefer to have a gibson though tbh lol... who wouldnt . still the vintage looks nice though :P

  • great observation!!! i gone try it for sure! i love this bass tone one the high strings especially for parisienne walkways..

  • u dont necessarily need the mod for parisienne walkways and still got the blues, the majority of those two songs r on the rythm pickup alone (with sections on the treble) and so the out of phase sound doesnt come from the guitar. Plus, I wouldnt recommend doing it urself, u run the risk of ruining ur pickups as u basically have to dismantel them. By all means, try it, but first, id recommend the rythm pickup, low treble on ur amp and some reverb (and alot of small fiddling haha).

  • I barely use the mod, but i wanted it... because it just makes the middle sound more interesting... it sounded nasty before, so i prefer having something people go :O when they hear it lol.

Its actually quit easy to do... all you have to do is take the pickup out... unscrew the four screws on the bottom of it.. take the bottom off... look at what side is facing up on the magnet (which is surprisingly small) ...

  • and then take it out and put it in upside down... then put the underneath four screws back in so they are tight and then put you pickup in backwards for effect :P

It was fun.. especially as i have now finished school so have nothing to do lol...

  • I'm very very drawn towards that vintage green/moore guitar, i want to go and try it out, reviews say it is excellent and its made from mahogany, has a mahogany neck and a deep neck joint, thats better than some gibsons, and SOOOO much cheaper, might have to buy it as a backup lol...

What is your les paul shreddykreuger1? mine is slightly flamed maple lol, im not that fond of the cherry sunburst on mine, because the red is very red. I like gary moores guitar. that orangey lemon burst thing :)

  • and i have never ever typed that much EVER. sorry lol

  • lol haha, i tried the vintage green/moore guitar the other day for a while, it is good, nothing special, id buy it as an everyday guitar as i go through frets like theres no tomorrow with my style of play and everything. so im not looking forward to the day my real guitars get to the end of the fret life.

  • my les pauls an epi, interesting u see the tokai as a closer guiatr to gibson than epi, since epi is gibson just made in asia and with AA grade wood compared to the AAA grade wood used for USA built gibsons. But everyone prefers different things. the red on mine is very red aswell, its only bout 1 1/2 yrs old but, although i think the faded cherry sunbursts usually look alot better, the cherryburst along with the really nice flame and the deep red back is georgeous.

  • I also have a black les paul copy that was my first electric guitar. It was a Kay les paul copy i seem to remember, but bout a wk afetr getting it, it dropped on the floor and the neck broke so my grandad, who used to make guitars, put an old les paul (50's neck i believe) on it, redid the binding, made a really nice scratch plate from scratch, made a new headstock for it and repainted the bk, which cracked (dont know if u know wot happens to the laquer after sudden changes in humidity

  • but the laquer gets a crackled effect but i kept it as its an interesting look and gives it character). Its been through ALOT, my trusty old black les paul, it has been completely overhauled and i love it as much as my epi, its not nearly as nice or easy to play, but thanks to the seymour duncanse I put in it (that r supposed to be better than the original gibson humbuckers) it sounds alot better in tone etc than my epi. my epi gets more use now tho, just cos its nicer to play,

  • Live music doesn't get any better than this!

  • legend!
