When this song came out there was a lot of diversity showing up in popular music. Electronica was hitting a nice stride, girl fronted bands were becoming very prominent in alternative music, and everything was coming out of the gloom of the early 90's. It was a good time for music I think. Except there was Dave Matthews...That sucked.
