What is the very loud buzz noise that seems to sound off regularly? It obviously is a cockpit warning of some sort but it would get very annoying after a time.

Yeah I'm with you on that. That's exactly what I thought and then I took a closer look and realized it's one of those new MD-90 flight decks. Some of the things in this cockpit are characteristic of the Mad Dog's which the 717 doesn't have.

The MD90 is unique, sadly there are alot of problems with it in terms of operation specially with SV. Systems are different.
