  • Is it possible to get anime cutscenes or Japanese VA in the 1st game? Because those CG cutscenes are ugly as hell...Well, exxageration.

  • hey brian another question about the fighting system of a game on this video

since project justice is the sequel to rival schools

how is the combat system in rival schools? is it the same?

  • It's similar in a lot of ways. In fact it's almost the same, though some moves have been changed, and the team up system does not allow for as many characters to team up at once. If you see Rival Schools around, I would pick it up because if what Capcom has recently said is true, we won't be seeing a port of either game anytime soon.

  • where can i see this thing that capcom has said because i think its silly to not make a new power stone or a new rival schools 3 or something because there are fans out there and with that article you put up the demand for a sequel is coming to their attention

  • I'd give Ys a shot, but I just picked up .Hack Infection, Mutation, and Outbreak; I've also just managed to find a copy of Quarantine and G.U. 2 and 3. After that... Well, let's just say I'm stacked up to my ears with unplayed RPGs. Maybe if I remember down the road.

  • hey brian is the combo system in project justice kind of like street fighter in anyway? because i rather not have to learn 50 pages of combos.

anyways is it kind of like street fighter or is it a more casual friendly fighter?

  • The combo system in Project Justice is not like Street Fighter, but it is not hard to pick up at all. I would say it's closer to a dial a combo in the sense that you can mix punches and kicks. Thankfully the fighting engine is the standard Capcom setup making it easy to get used to.

  • thats good because i cant stand how street fighters combo system is set up...i mean i actually prefer king of fighters over street fighter because of the controls

anyways if i do get a dreamcast i will make sure ot pick up project justice!

  • just got a new sub

keep up the great work. when can we expect the next review

  • The next episode should be out in the next month or so. It's taking a bit longer since we're doing a complete reboot and overhaul. I think it will be well worth the wait.

  • It's due out October 10th. Mark your calendar. :)

  • the first two games look awesome. im not much of a rpg fan.

oh does anyone know a good list of awesome dreamcast games? im lookin for a good amount of them.

  • Dude, I forgot about these videos! I'm glad you're knocking them out list this. These things are always so well-produced and crap on all the other amateur "review videos".

Besides that, how has things been going man? I haven't heard from you in MONTHS.

  • Hey thanks man. We do our best to take raging dumps on the competition.

Things are going well. My son turned one about a month ago. Overall life is good. Just getting video captured, scripts written, and overall making the rebirth of Substance TV as full of awesomesauce as possible. How goes it with you?

  • Pretty well. Got a new job, new car, and I'm in the best shape of my life. College is starting up again this August, but I think I'm ready for it.

  • Good job with these reviews. I look forward to episode 10.

  • R-Type Delta: Shoot-em-up heaven! Superb review!

  • im curious are you going to do a nintendo 64 game? i mean dont get me wrong i love all these games you have done especially the Wario World game.

    im just curious

  • I can answer that with a resounding yes. We've already got an N64 game slated for review in a future episode. We here at Substance TV want to spread the loving evenly across all plaforms and game makers.

  • alrighty and thank you for answering oh and thanks to your show i rented the astro boy omega factor game for the GBA and it was amazing!

  • now i reconize that guy with the blue suit from project jsutices ive seen him in some comics and marvel vs capcom games

  • Nice reviews there... I´m ashamed I haven´t subbed you since 2006 but better late then never eh? ^_^ I also had little sources to find this kind of thing back then though. I like the version you choose to do and such.. it´s not too much nor too little. Just right for the average gamer. I think I´ll search for some of those games actually... shoot ´em ups are one thing I haven´t tried much yet. Thanks for some great vids. I hope to see more soon. =D

  • Hey thanks man. I'm glad you discovered to gooey goodness of Substance TV. Thanks for the sub as well. It's hard to get your name out there. Slowly but surely I say.

  • I like the speed at which you speak.

  • Thumbs up for covering Ys 6 it is a pretty good hack'n'slash, arpg for the PS2.Still the serise itself sadly underrated here....

  • Not bad, not bad. Though I'd contend that the voices in Ys VI are uniformly awful, regardless of language. The PS2 port is okay, but there's really no excuse for how lazy the port is... severe slowdown issues in spots, for instance.

Also, you mispronounced Ys slightly. It's a hard S sound, like "geese." :)

    Nice show, though.

  • Like I said, compared to the PC and PSP version, it is a technically better game. That being said, they could have improved upon the graphics even more. So I agree the game could have had much more polish had they spent the time. I'm just thankful it runs at 60 fps myself. Thanks for the comment!

  • Nice show as always. Looking forward to the next one.

  • FUCK YEAH, substance TV, that's some smart video game knowledge baby ! FUCK GT classic or SA's VGV

  • LOL, good to see you around benzaie. You are HARDCORE!!!!!!!

  • BENZAAAIIIIEE! Sorry, little fan spaz thing there.

  • ahaha there's nothing incredible seeing me watching cool retrogaming shows man

  • WHOAH, HE REPLIED! Sorry, I 'm a dork. Ha, yeah that's true though! You're just that awesome I guess, that you have a fan spazz out at the sheer fact they are commenting on a gaming show, and that you know Jedah one way or nother...IT'S JUST AWESOME, OK. As well as the fact you are humble. Keep makin' those awesome videos the way you do, man! God bless!

  • I know, I'm scared of the day me and benzaie meet as it may just tear the space time continuum and invert the universe. For the simple fact that he is so full of awesomesauce.

  • you guys are crazy fangirls :D

  • And your point? :)

  • Hah, yeah! What Brian said!

And don't ya just love us?

  • Great show guys. One of the best review shows on youtube.

    Keep more episodes coming.

  • Great episode! And at the end i'm once again reminded how much i want a mp3 version of the amazing credit song.

  • FUCK YES! YS GETS SOME RECOGNITION!

Anyone interested should check out Ys 1& 2 Complete, Ark of Napishtim, Oath in Felghana and Origin on the PC, the first two even received fan translations.

  • I love your show it reminds me of a early video game review show

  • woot been awhile!!!

  • Great to see Substance TV back!!!

Even if you dont make a lot of videos... the wait is always worth it... keep em coming, cause you do great work Jedahdoma

  • Hell yea Substance TV!!! Great review man!

  • Also, you are welcome! Thanks to you all for continuing to make humorous, informative and quality entertainment!

  • Thanks man! It's good to see long time fans like yourself still around supporting us. Let's us know we're doing something right.

  • Haha, duuuude no problem man! You are most definitly welcome! I am proud to be a long time fan! I hope they put you on TGWTG! That'd be sweet. It would be another amazing addition to an already amazing site!

  • Great reviews! Dude, I love Ys: The Ark of Napishtim! I am not too far in, but I'm having such a blast playing it, the gameplay is amazing. As for the story, I am not too far in as I said, but I am enjoying it so far, so yeah. As for the graphics, yeah I like them. The soundtrack,? Yes, I too enjoy it. I got mine used for like...seven dollars at my local Blockbuster. Ha, one of the best and easiest buys I have ever made. I am excited for the upcoming announcment! Keep on truckin', guys!

  • Another excellent episode. You struck just the right balance with the humor and information. It was also great to see some light being shed on some lesser known games. This definitely piqued my interest in Ys. Keep up the good work!

  • id be nice if these were more frequent, but i understand its your hobby and not your job to please all fans

I wish there was an rerelease for Rival Schools on CurrentGen.

  • Man, you're such a good voice actor.

  • totally AWESOME its BACK MAINE!

  • Oh yeah baby substance tv NUMBER NINE!

  • I thought Youtube had a 10min limit?

  • Yea, they do, but if you have one of the older director accounts, you're allowed to have videos longer then 10 minutes. Not sure why that is. Thanks for the comment anyway. I enjoyed your censored video greatly. :)

  • That's weird because you're account is only a two months older than mine. I've never tried doing more than 10min so maybe I should upload a test to see if I can.

  • Pretty sure you needed the director's status at that point to be able to do it, but I'm not that sure since I only have a few short videos anyway.

Anyways, great job Jedah, always looking forward to the next one.

  • Oh yeah baby! Substance tv NUMBER NINE!
