Gee, Rawk4Life; wasn't aware that Jesus taught us to belittle others by threatening their intelligence. To answer your question, no I am not stupid. Great emulation, my man. Anyway, my concern herein relates to the overly common stereotype of the Black Shoeshiner. Yes, I think it's racist, especially for the period of time. It's great that Johnny is spreading the gospel in his zealous joy, but we have another underprivileged minority left to a contrivance. I have a problem with that.

@corplhicks stop being so sensitive , im sure your not a child anymore but rather an adult , i am quite positive that when they did autions for whom to choose for the video the colored guy was one who tried out for the video , i doubt the band didnt say they wanted a black man to shine shoes for the video , that wouldnt be very christian on their end , so im sure its just you blowing it out of proportion . grow up lol

I still rock out to this on CD (wore the tape out years ago) Has anyone heard the story of Billy Graham hearing the gospel from someone who heard it from a shoeshiner? Seriously, this is the story I heard. When I heard that a few years back it reminded me of this song and made me wonder whether this song was inspired by that story....any help would be nice.
