the angle of your eye gouge seems like it's completely horizontal! In my respectful opinion, you will be hitting the top of their head/back of their neck.
Another thing is...your opponent can be wearing goggles, and you can really try to go for it!
@tedhyu Im not the one doing the eye jab, my partner is and at this time he barley started training, the bil jee should come out and back in, as if some one is pulling a rope attached to your arm, with no telegraphing of the shoulders etc, this drill here is if you don't have equipment you can strike the forehead, of course not the eyes, but the best way is to use goggle if you have them or helmet etc anything that protects the eyes. hey thanks for the comment and opinion bro.
@minasz Its worked just fine for me while training, also note Octavio uses eye jab as an interception against a tackle and Vunak uses it as an interception, a punch while some one attempts a take down may not work or even if it lands may not stop a guy, look how many people get punched in street fights, but an eye jab can be nasty, but hey we all have our opinions thanks again.
Dont intercept with an eye jab cuz it will break your fingers or you could miss the eye easily. The eye jab is for an attack...to finish with other combinations.
To intercept is using something thats hard, like a fist or leg, shin, heel ect.
@minasz Hi in my opinion yes you could break your fingers, but if you toughen up your fingers lowers your chances of that, if you train the eye jab enough you can get good precision, also if you land an eye jab more likely to stop the *tackle* vs a punch, as it is much more damaging, note also that you can also break your hand with a punch and splinter your shin, but hey these are risk your willing to take in a survival situation, thanks for the encouragement and comment.
@JKDSTORM Its not about taking risks, its about reducing the risk. If somebody goes for a take down you hit with something hard or a grab ( in the eye). Using your fingers while somebody coming up like that will not work.. But hey, its your system.....
@JKDSTORM yeah man-I hear ya. Even though The Man himself said we should not as effective fighters HAVE favorite moves...I have to admit ; a guy coming at me with a wide open haymaker (the kind that starts across the stateline..) this would be a likely move of mine.
@Abobojo I hear you man what I meant by favorite, Is if I had a choice to take out my opponent and had only one shot depending on the situation, I would use the eye jab simply because I know that if it lands that fights over or will be over soon, and oh yes the eye jab would work wonders on an opponent throwing a haymaker lol hey thanks for the comment.
True but we was training on cement at the time which is most likely in a street fight if you get attacked, also note the eye jab would be your first weapon against a tackle its not a guarantee there are too many factors you could miss etc, but even if you get taken to the ground don't mean its over yet, there are still things you can do for survival purposes only, especially against your average attacker chances are hes not going to be a master grappler, thanks for the comment.
Ensure the attacker is actually trying to tackle, or there could be a big surprise for the practitioner when this actually occurs.
One way to do this is to have the attacker tackle, and follow through with a throw a few times before you begin practicing the technique, so he knows exactly what is expected, and what should happen if you do not land the jab.
dont forget, the finger jab should be thrown just like a straight lead so dont forget the hip rotation so you can get your power line. Have fun training !!!!
Not safe. use eye googles.

@tedhyu That is correct, but that would be my 2nd option if it was a survival situation.
