We also broke the starboard side Rudder on this, and guess who spent the next couple of months down there trying to get it alligned again, with a crew. Fun. It looks like this was shot during sea trials after leaving Newport News Shipyard prior to accepting the ship for delivery. I was a plankowner working in MSD and we were allowed on deck during the test manuver.
When was that taken? I was there in 2002-2004. We could go in the hanger bay or our workspaces only. I remember tri-walls falling over and V3's crap going everywhere.
now thats fun. Whats more fun not really is in your rack during a full speed hard to starboard turn like that and yes people fell out ah......... the good times

i used to sleep right below the flight deck.major fun while underway.you can lean into the wind and never go down when she's going that fast.

I served on the G-dub from 1997-2000. We did one of those at the end of the 97-98 cruise, it was pretty cool.
