i play ibanez as well and cant change tuning to play karnivool as well cause it well screw the action. biggest problem with the floyd n locking nut eh.
Yeah man I know :) but because I wasn't in Karnivool tuning, if I hammer on and pull off it sounds really strange, because the open string isn't the correct tuning.

Take a 6 string guitar in standard tuning...tune the strings 6, 5 & 4 to Drop B tuning ( B, F#, B) and leave strings 1, 2 & 3 tuned standard. B F# B G B E.

This is really good, I've been hunting the tab for ages and haven't found a powertab version yet. dragon2712, please post it in the official PT database if you end up making it! There is a tab drew did of the first part of themata in their tuning (BF#BGBE) - but from that a mate of mine made a midi of the whole song so if you use guitar pro or powertab or whatever it would probably be pretty useful.
Likewise if you ever actually write your tab down i'd love to get a copy. (My brother plays and can play the one drew did but doesn't like tuning down that much - I don't play)
Ahh yeh, I've been wondering where to find that tab...I tried my own on guitar pro a while ago, but only got halfway before realising that I was using incorrect (normal drop B) tuning, because back then I didn't know they left the first 3 strings in standard.
Anyway, if I do happen to get around to tabbing at least the main sections of this on guitar pro, i'll send you the file :)
