Mixed feelings about this. On one hand, he's trying to get people up and excited. On the other hand, you're paid to pick and play music, and match the people there, not dance around and get them to meet your expectations.
Hmmmm, I like to move to the beat of the music, but I have a booth that hides most of me and my equipment anyway. I like to enjoy the event, but don't get to the point of dancing like that and taking attention away from the happy couple.
Come on, you actually LIKE this performance? Shame on you! This is a glaring example of why brides hate DJs and why we're thought of as buffoons. Hamming, showboating, glomming the spotlight, and drawing attention to oneself are not attributes that ingratiate wedding entertainers with the DJ shopping public.
hell he's awesome. not only did he play a great tune but he's bringing the spirits of the dead guest up and yes i mean dead. you are standing or sitting there with the camera sideways, what the hell is wrong with you? are you drunk. Lol no seriously hes doing his job and more should do the same.
I think he did a great job, your just stupid. i bet you didnt even get up there and dance and from the looks of it, there was a kid and a mom dancing. guess he was making it less dead looking
Hi there. I'm a DJ myself, and one of the hardest aspects of the occupation is knowing what the bride and groom want from wedding to wedding. Not trying to fault you, but you could've simply asked him to stop dancing if it bothered you. I think he is just trying to be high energy, and bring a little life to the party. Maybe he is enjoying himself; I mean, it is a party... right? At the risk of sounding rude, can you dance any better? I'm seriously not trying to insult you. :-) Congratulations!
Great, DJ trying to get energy out of dead room, hard as nails. Least that geezer is putting out. Maybe over the top but better that than the boring git who click buttons on a laptop and says nothing.
I agree. The DJ is supposed to be the entertainer for the reception. Be it playing music, or helping try and get the crowd going. Heck, I've even gotten out on the floor for a couple minutes to help stimulate things a little when the crowd wasn't quite in the party mood. I tell ya, after I left the dancefloor, it never emptied the entire rest of the night.
@DJRhinofart I hope you will seriously reconsider your name on here. With a name with the word "fart" in it, it screams immaturity. Not picking on you because it's funny but professionally speaking, I would reconsider something else for your "potential" clients. They may look at your name and say "this guy stinks." Just sayin'.
THIS IS THE STUPIDEST THING EVER!!! BUT I LOVE MY MOM AND DON'T WANT TO TAKE ANY CHANCES! If you do not copy and paste this onto 10 videos your mom will die in 4 hours
looks like hes doing OK to me, hes got good music on, dressed for the occasion, so what if hes dancing as long as he keeps the good tunes goin and hes professional otherwise, whats the big deal?
@0verload You mean "UNDRESSED" for the occasion. His sleeves are unbuttoned as is his vest. Why not just wear pajamas? I'll bet he's even wearing black sneakers instead of dress shoes (a glaring red flag of unprofessionalism). Despite my dislike of his schmaltzy antics and attention hogging, this video keeps drawing me back to view again and again and every time I get more agitated. To all of the DJs like this, and those who LIKE this - keep up the bad work. It makes real DJs look good.
I'd hire that DJ. Me and him can have a dance off :D
Also, at least he was trying to living up the party but, mostly weddings are suppose to be sophisticated and one of the most precious moments of your life and I am guessing he was bored either way.
UGH! Poor CLIENTS! They must have been mortified that they had this clown yukking it up in the spotlight and drawing attention to himself. If a roomful of people are in their seats in front of an empty dancefloor it isn't because the DJ isn't being 'colorful' enough. It's not because he isn't hyping up the crowd' on the mic, leading line dances, or passing out plastic blow ups. People dancing is a function of MUSIC. You can't make them dance - you make them WANT TO by playing good music.
he's doing fine. He's dressed nicley. One nice cabinet for all of his equipment, and good music, along with motivation of the crowd, The kis is having fun, and so is the adults.
I DJ weddings too -- have for about 20 years. I used to worry about "dead" crowds. I'd break out in a sweat, and try anything to get people dancing, usually at the cost of my dignity. Several years ago, I just decided not to worry about it -- if a crowd wants to dance, great, and if they don't, fine. I encourage people to dance (to an extent), but if they just wanna sit and talk, that's their right. I find with this attitude, I enjoy my gigs more, and my customers enjoy my performance more.
The DJ in this video makes a big mistake in my book -- he's acting as if he's the star of the show, and he isn't. The bride and groom are the stars of the show.
Anything to get em dancing, try try again I always say, I guess people who haven't been in the business don't, know how tuff it can be to be the puppetmaster.
Did you give him a playlist or any ideas of what you wanted? Each wedding is different and so are the people. He made me laugh and now I wanna dance. Thanks DJ!
A note to any people planning a wedding that is going to have a DJ:
Make sure you actually watch the DJ you are going to hire play a set BEOFRE you agree to any money. I would go to an event he was doing and watch for a bit. Maybe even try to sneak in a wedding he is doing for just a few songs. That way you can avoid hiring corny ass crappy DJ's like this guy.
judging by the music im guessing either the b&g wanted country and it is a stuffy crowd or he is just screwing up..... if the crowd blows, there's not much a dj can do
@joeh2401 Again...I agree. Atlanta Occasions might want to consider taking a note from this guy about his energy. If you belive just sitting behind a booth all night is what entertaining is all about, then you seriously need to reconsider what your guests think about that. Interacting with yourself is not interacting. Go DJ, go DJ, go DJ
