  • This is so good.

  • You guys are awesome. Keep up the goodwork.

  • Badass Badger is what the song should be called

  • Dude you are kick ass. I just bought a low whistle in D... finding the grip a bit difficult (right hand - lower fingers) Any tips?

  • So I used to listen to your version of the lochabar badger when I was in high school. Today, I was dinking around on my guitar and I started playing the chords that you play to this song. I was like hell, that sounds familiar, and then I just randomly broke out into playing the melody without even realizing it. Ill will now prob make a video and post it as a response. Moral of the story. Thanks for making awesome music

  • good job dudes ure riding it

  • 民族音楽って意味はわからにけど感動する

  • I Guess these guys are brothers?

  • that was awesome! :)

  • Just rewatched this years later... you still rock dude hope you're still playing! Started me on a lifelong obsession with trad music. I stumbled across this exact video about in '07 and quickly found lunasa, flook and gravitated from there to more trad stuff. Five years later I own 6 low whistles, 14 whistles, and a flute I pretend I can play sometimes. Much <3s and I still can't play your DAMN breakdown on this video smoothly :)

  • I disagree with your description, I think these tunes are well matched. I also think this tempo is well suited to your set... maybe the popular choice is tunes that are fast as hell but as Grubi1990 said "fuck main stream." A well played tune slowly, is better than a poorly played tune quickly. (I've been playing bagpipes for years and I still haven't learned that for myself) Great set!

  • THIS is Bloody foooking brilliant

  • AMAZING! Seriously, you guys should make some CD's, people love you!

  • have you scores for this song??

    P.s you makes a great job.. =)

  • Who are these guys? I get chills everytime I listen to something they do. They are GREAT!!! Do they have any CD's out or is there any way to get any of there music? Would love to get something if possible!!!!

  • LIKE A BOSS!!

    AMAZING JOB MATE! :D

  • In what key is your tin whistle in?

  • this is my favourite of your videos. one of my favourite songs and you give it an edge. great music. regards...

  • Agreed about hidden talent - these guys are quite good. Nicely played lads, and a good choice of tunes.

  • what instrument is that?

  • @hoochis

care to read the title? :P

  • I wish that all you "Regional Squabblers" would understand that the Celts were spread over a large area. Let's not fight eachother over who comes from what island or county. This music comes from our DNA that was created by Jesus 6000 years ago. If you dropped Celts off in the middle of a foreign planet, they would be making near identical music within a generation.

  • WOW! AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

  • I realllly want a low whistle.

  • Yep I thought so, having thenme Lochaber in the title and I was sure I'd heard it in a Ceilidh on Scottish tv. Strange how people over in America dont do enough research (at least if they have celtic roots) and call it Irish when its Scottish.

  • Were Could I Get The Tin Whislte Notes Of Them Songs ?.

  • Were Could I Get The Tin Whistle Notes Of Them Songs ?.

  • lol, i love how you managed to make the guitar sound so much like a bodhran in The Glass of Beer.

  • Be in time next time ok!

  • could you send me the music for the Lochaber Badger?

    cheers

  • I have heard a few versions of the Lochaber Badger, and I have to say I like yours the best! Man you guys are really excellent musicians!!! I plan to get a Low D whistle soon, and I can't wait to try some of these tunes that you play! Cheers!!!

  • hey is so great listen to you

    really !! is very good

i play low whistle too and for that can say this :)

    larga vida ala musica!

  • que bien tocais O.o :)

  • you are once again amazing

  • The The Lochaber Badger is a scottish tune not Irish.

  • LOL here in America thats all the same along with english and welsh.

  • thats a big insult to us !!! im welsh and let me tell u yank there is a big difference !!!

  • Yes and there is a big difference between New Yorkers and New Jerseyians, but not to Californians. The subtleties between cultures are lost unless someone is keenly interested. So what makes the Welsh better than the Scots or the Celts ... or the Gauls?

  • well given the hundreds of years of oppression Ireland suffered under the English, there's a big fuckin difference. you're pretty ignorant.

  • You still said nothing to answer the question. England oppression of the Irish is the difference between the tribal roots? Look again at my original comment. Most Americans cannot tell the difference between the music of the Scots, the Irish the Enlish or the Welsh. You and Doomy can't tell me what is so different either! And if I say there is no difference between the MacDougals and the MacDonalds I'll get a bunch of comments from people of both clans who can't tell me the difference either.

  • my point is that it's highly ignorant to lump us all together given our history. most Irish people get pretty angry about being called English so throwing us together with a "LOL" is in no way less offensive to me, fuck it though, america, canada, mexico, same difference.

  • Your not being lumped with anyone REREAD MY ORIGINAL COMMENT. Americans can't tell the difference between an Irish or English or Scottish or Welsh tune. How does that reflect on any of the regional squabbles between tribal factions? How is that an insult at all? And if you can't tell the difference between and American a Canadian or a Mexican all I can say is (in my worst John Wayne immitation) Via con dios moo-chacho I reckon I'll just mosey on outa here if ya got nuthin else to add.

  • I loved it! although i really have to say, mr guitarist you really could do so much more with these two fantastic tunes. guitar drumming was darn fine though :D

  • what key is that low whistle?

  • It's a low D, if I remember it well from his blog - which you can find through his channel for that matter.

  • ;( beautiful! +5

  • I just love the first one. I have to learn it!

  • Nice sound!!!!!! a very nice visuals too =P

    chaito.

  • MAN!!! I could listen to this set for hours on end!

I love the stuff you do on the Low Whistle!

Can you n the bro do some more stuff with the Low whistle, especially any stuff set in the minor keys....MAN IT FREEKIN ROCKS!!!!! =)

  • I like how the guitarist looked completely disinterested at the end of the video as soon as he quit strumming. Did he have a headache while playing ? Watch his reaction, at the end. He just slouches back and puts his hand on his head.

  • Love that song - but what key is that! I was gunna play along but I play it in Am :(

  • try to figure out by yourself xD Slava.

  • love that song!

  • the guy with the guitar ,,i think his in the wrong world the first song sounded like nirvana

  • nagellfenris: what an understatement!!

    you are right tho :)

"hip agus hop" and this one are amazing tunes played unbelievebly. and id never heard of either before i started listenin to that long haired performer. you are supplying the most potent yet least dangerous drug to an ungrateful society.... ie music

  • You can play it very good.

  • You can play it very WELL

You're welcome for the free grammar lesson.

  • You guys are amazing. Your music is... really good, it's half rock half irish. Keep doing well.

    Saludos de Peru

  • This has got to be my favorite...man its tight! Love the minor key songs, wish you guys would do more of these!

  • is that a D low whistle ?

  • what flute is that? I WANT ONE OF THOSE.. PLEASE TELL MEE LOL

  • Guys that's awesome - you made me learn flute haha

    Good job (Y)

  • excellent, my fav song. i totally agree with Vasis4life.

  • very good, and the guitar sounds just a wee bit flat.

  • good stuff lads

The teacher showed us you're video

    Loved it!!

    It's truelly greatç

  • @Harioshi24 I'm sorry.. But Irish? Thats A scottish tune mate.

  • @clachtoll88 Scottish or Irish what really matters; Aren;t somehow influensed in some cases; Don't you enjoy the tunes anyway; And maybe one day both nations be proud of the music they play because they deserve it!

    Cheers mate!

  • huge dude

  • Beautyfull x

  • wow that´s really great

  • Still Excellent XD!

  • Once again you both are an inspiration. Absolutely wonderful.

  • love the "chillness" of the guitar.. this tune is great without accompaniment, but the guitar makes it AWESOME :):)

  • @Laylow4now I agree totally

  • @Laylow4now for real dude !! fuck main stream ! power to the people !

  • i love this video! =]

  • thats sounds realy good! respect :)

  • GREAT WORK ! I THINK THEY WILL BE FAMOUS ONE DAY ! RLY GREAT ! GO AND FIND SPONSOR :p GOOD LUCK

  • type yes, then ur compliment if you like seeing regular people playing amazing then pros..i think thats better cuz ur not so put down and ur like."hey they play great" but they just regular people who practice...not trained pros...if u know what i mean.>>>>>great job :)

  • Yeah but pros are just regular people who practiced a lot and worked hard to get to where they are.

  • Im gonna go a little of the deep end her to make a point but you can not say that... Miley Cyrus Practiced years to get where she is. and im sure some people would call her a pro. Some. Im just making a point though.

  • Oh, I can say that. And I did.

Miley Cyrus hasn't been alive long enough to practice for "years." She used her famous daddy to get where she is. And no, I wouldn't call her a pro.

On the flip side, let me use my current favorite musician as an example. Julie Fowlis. Learned bagpipes as a small child, played oboe (and something else...forgot what) in school, studied music at the university level. Plays tin whistle as well. So yeah, she's a pro who practiced hard to get where she is.

  • Heh, using Miley Cryus and "pro" in the same sentence shouldn't even be allowed.

  • You guys are amazing!

  • very impressed here in Holland, i practise myself whit a low D chieftain and Shaw flutes but nowwhere near you guys. thanks very much for the vid's, keep whistling.

    Greetz Casey.

  • Better than me and I get paid here in the U.S., to play "Irish" songs on the flute.

  • badass sound

  • Authentic. Honest. Real. Excellent in every way. Thank you for all your videos.

  • i think the guitar was a bit out of tune. everything else was great!

  • I thought it was nice fellas, don't beat yourself up over missing a note here or there.

    The effort is always appreciated!!

    All the best!

    Caroline

  • You're both very good!!!!!!!!

  • Increíble amigo, cada vez que te escucho me entran unas ganas de meterle caña al whistle y echarle horas y horas y sonar la mitad de bien que tú....

  • pretty much the shit. good job. made me wanna irish step dance.

  • I think it's excellent what ya'll did.

  • sounds great you guys!

  • Whether or not it's "incorrectly" played, it still sounds very, very good. It's kinda nice to hear things like this slowed down now and then.

  • amazing !

  • why does the guitar-guy look ticked off at the end? lol

  • I'm looking for the partitures but I think I will have to take the tune by hearing it.

  • wonderfull complimenti

  • Very good!

    I hear it every day.

  • The tunes go well together! And I love the lochaber badger speed! Reminds me of Croft No. Five's version! Although I think some of the guitar chords are a bit off! Maybe his guitar his a bit out of tune! Never the less, it still sounds good! Some great whistle playing!

  • What Kind of whistle is that

  • Chieftain non-tuneable Low D

*nods head left and right while listening to the music*

  • Your my todays hero

  • YOU ARE THE BOSS

  • excellent!

  • awesome......thats all i can say

  • what would be a good low whistle to buy? I'm a beginner, so I really don't want to spend too much money.

  • I bought a Howard some time ago.... pretty good deal.

  • I just discovered these vids of yours tonight- really fantastic playing lads. I will definately watch out for all your new vids.

  • very good control! nice!

  • how do u play that flute sideways and front?!?!!?!?

  • you can't, but you can get istruments which when you change the head, can become a whistle or a flute. I also think there is a chinese flute which can be played both ways, but a contempory flute which is most common in the west, cannot be played both ways.

  • lol alex, flute music is suppeosed to be gay,

I guess you DO know "gay" means happy and cheerfull right?

if not, learn the language, and don't dis the people that can actually make others feel good about something instead of putting them

down, just to make yourself feel better.

sorry to rant like that, but seriously, if you don't like give good arguments or don't say anything at all,

    thank you

  • and yes I tell someone to learn language and spell supposed wrong,...

lol well I'll be the first to admit I'm not perfect xD

play on PJ I want to learn from you =3

  • the word gay has grown multiple definitions, else-wise we would have a debate on homosexual marriage, not gay marriage. However, I do agree with what hemellicht has to say.

  • Yeah! That's music! :-)

I will play tinwhistle too...^^ I will play everything, that sounds so good. :-)

    Great!

  • cool

  • WOW alex your soo jealous.....

  • This by far is my favorite. Makes me want to move. Beautiful.

  • You guys are great I've seen this and a couple other awsome vids. Btw I play guitar and just noticed that the chords in The Lochabear Badger are like almost the same as in the Ramones'Havana Affair lol

  • Very awesome. The Glass of Beer is such a great tune. Thanks for the wonderful music!
