Ok but how do I actually record? when hitting my hotkey it doesn't record, and there is no number in the top left like normal.

@mrhow2minecraft it records only full screen games but if you have that button which says monitor aero desktop the it should work and will record anything is on your screeen

@vilnis1999 Yeah I know how to use fraps, I have used it for a long time, and it does have that option, but when I have it checked there is no yellow number in the top left, and even after pressing my record key twice there is no file where it normally is. It can't hook onto my desktop I guess.

it won't work for me. running windows 7, fraps 3.4.7, and tried 3 different aero theme with the proper box checked in fraps for recording desktop. it will record the video but when i go to preview it i get only a still screenshot and audio

@P0ttah I wouldn't really call it an unreleated issue. its completely related to your video content except i have a newer version. Nevertheless i figured out that it does indeed work, but its just that the windows movie player sometimes doesn't play the preview well. When I export to my video editing program i can preview just fine. So it wasn't fraps that was the problem it was the windows movie player.

@kevnar Do not have a game running when you starts frap. Basically start fraps when no game is on.

@KuutenV3 Plenty of free stuff that can do same job, but fraps is better when it comes to games recording and in general quality is better on fraps.

Most free programs require a lot of faffing around to get working well.
