Masahiro Chono and the Great Muta refuse to wrestle in front of close minded, ignorant wrestling fans who think the wwf and puke-a-mania are the center of their universe.
and larry zybisko, fuck you, you motherfucking racist cunt rag.
@awesome0901 WCW was a major wrestling organization in the 90s. The nWo was a storyline going at the time that had them taking over WCW. Many major stars would join them, and they would war back and forth. nWo made Chono the first international member, and he wrestled in the US from time to time.
as a kid i grew up knowing of a few major japanese stars like tiger mask jushin thunder liger etc. but there were no two i loved more than masahiro chono and the great muta. when they joined the nWo that was it for me - japan's two greatest exports.
For the record, Yokozuna was WWF Champion in 1993, he was the first of the Samoan wrestling family Anoai and Fatu, the second was his cousin The Rock of course. The actual first Japanese World Champion on American Soil was the Great Muta who won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.
The first Japanese World Champion was Yokozuna who won the WWF Championship form Bret Hart at Wrestlemania 9. The Great Muta and Tajiri are one of the great Japanese wrestlers to compete on American soil.
WWE had the power to do that, too. WCW were just the only ones who seen that it was a good idea. By the way, all the best luchadores started in ECW and got noticed there before WCW got ahold of them.
Mysterio, Juvi, Psychosis and a few others got noticed in ECW first. So WCW didn't really start the whole international talent exchange thing.
ECW didn't either.. Konnan (AAA), Jushin thunder liger,(NJPW) Vampiro, (AAA) Norman Smiley, (AAA) Mil mascaras (AAA) (who also was on the WWF for a royal rumble) etc.. WCW just had more relationship with them (meaning they were still wrestling in AAA and NJPW while in WCW)
wouldnt it have been great if these two wouldve been in WCW/NWO Revenge for N64?

Goddamn were the WCW announcers slow or what? Not picking up on the stalling and not understanding the false headlock right away.

WcW became real shit especially when everyone was a part of the nWo at one point or another, they just run it into the ground.

So I guess this type of racism is what you get when you get old men at the announce table. It was hilarious though.

No. WCW brought them first. In 1994. They helped Konan with the "When World's Collide" PPV. Which officially brought Lucha Libre to the USA. Not ECW.
PlagueRiddenGoat 2 years ago
That was one PPV that was presented by AAA with the help of WCW. It wasn't WCW that helped Rey, Psychosis, Konnan, and Juventud get noticed.
Konnan first worked for the WWE and then for ECW before WCW.
Rey, Juventud, and Psychosis first worked for ECW before WCW.
By the way ChromeFamily, when I say started I mean the first USA promotion they worked for. Not first promotion ever.
