Well "Don't Speak" was originally a happier and lighter song, but after the breakup some of the lyrics were changed. Gwen wrote lots and lots of lyrics concering the breakup.. "Happy Now", "Don't Speak", "End It On This", "Sunday Morning" were all breakup songs.

One of the best song's ever made, not even exaggerating the end is beautiful Gwen and the band really were some amazing musicians. They have always made quality music, even the later reggae dub style stuff. I didn't like the music in their later years but I still respect the songs because they put everything they've got into the music they make.
