Look at the lacing , the lacing, lacing. I guess maybe you have dirty glasses, LOL! Just kidding. I'm going to have to give this a try. Looks good. Nice vid. Thanks!!
I just commented on your previous video, with the sediment. Some further thoughts -- the Sparkling Ale seems to me not something that US folks would like, I sure didn't. It's not just that it's overly bitter to me, but it's a bitter taste that is most unpleasant, I can't figure out what hops is in this, but it's not something I've ever tasted before and won't try again. But this Coopers Pale Ale I'm sipping right now is very nice, sort of a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale - light. Terrific!
@steeljan I'd say Pride of Ringwood is what they use. Here is the description: Aroma: Strong citrus aroma. ”Strong” is a descriptor that is used a lot when it comes to Pride of Ringwood hops. Robust, coarse but not unpleasant. It appears to have a distinctive aroma and flavor.
It does have a good little dose of bitterness. I could see some not liking it.
@PeiHomeBrewer Last night I kept trying to put my finger on the taste and suddenly it hit me, quinine. When I was in the military, we had to take a lot of quinine and I got to where I could not stand the stuff. The Coopers Sparkling Ale and many of the other Coopers taste like they are bittered with quinine or some hop that tastes exactly like quinine.
@steeljan P1 It's probably that Pride of Ringwood hop they use. If I was to hazard a guess, it could be that twang you are tasting in the kits. It has a fairly high alpha acid content (about 10%). Believe it or not, it use to be the most bitter hop in the world at one time according to some quick Google searches. That's why I mentioned that people might want to try this beer before brewing the kits. If they don't like this, then they aren't likely to like any of their kits.
@steeljan P2 When I made the 'Lager', I found it to have a sort of a similar kind of hop bitterness, if memory serves me correctly. The EB had a good dose of it too. But it doesn't put me off, I rather like it, but it is different, and some may not like it. There are lots of other good quality kits out there for people to start their way into the hobby. Munton's is a good one, and is most likely using English bittering hops.
@steeljan P3 That's why I couldn't understand TSA's Cooper's kick: Insanity is doing something more than once, and expecting different results. That's why I think he was being paid to keep trying the Cooper's kits, and bashing them. He kept mentioning they had 'the wrong kind of hops'. Well here's a clue for him: try another manufacturer! Brew Canada makes kits that are likely to have his 'right kind of hops', and they even make a Rickard's Red clone. Guess it's all moot now.
Oh, you got the dislike. At least we know who's watching LOL. This beer is hard to review. It's different than what we're used to. I really liked it. I have a video coming up too, but I drank one of the ones Fo gave me, so I just have the one left to review. Thanks to weirdbeer for getting this stuff for us and being so kind!
@CraigTube Yeah, if the coward doesn't allow ratings on his own channel, he shouldn't be rating others.
It was a good beer. It really reminded me of their homebrews a lot.It had that same sort of flavour. I guess that's why some people don't like the kits, because they don't like that sort of flavour to begin with. It would be worth pointing people to this beer before trying a Coopers kit.
Your flavour saver ruined the video for me. I couldn't keep my eyes off it.

@PeiHomeBrewer Exactly. I thought he was turning around, but I no longer have any hope of that.

I keep looking, but cannot find any of those Coopers down here. May have to go into town and look for a specialty shop. Thanks for the review.

Glad you liked it. Let me know if you want me to send you the kit version of this beer. You could just pick up your own Dry Malt and give it a whirl!

@weirdbeer I might give it a whirl in the fall. It looks like my brewing days are over for the summer. It hit 72F in the basement yesterday.

@CraigTube Up to three dislikes now. It always seems to be the same three. The trinity of asshats I guess. LOL
