@Khultan Sound equipment was much smaller back then so sound checks would've been pointless since the acoustics in a packed auditorium are entirely different than that of the same auditorium when it's empty. Besides, back in the '60s, viewers were excited just to see their favorites on TV, even if they were only miming to their music. At least they were miming to their music and not to someone else's.

Given Ron Chapman's comments about the single "doing well", that implies that it is still a current hit, which would make this clip from early 1966, rather than 1967. No matter. It's a monster classic! One of the most perfect records ever made.

This is good old raw and honest garage rock from the 60s. No samples, overdubs and other tricks - just honest music. I´m impressed that the 5 Americans still are on the road or....? My hobby is to rediscover all those great bands from the 60s that didn´t "broke through. Listen for example to THE ZETTLERS and their versions of "Skinnie Minnie" and "Beautiful Delilah". Awesome! And with a bloody driving beat.
