I saw about 10 reps and I had to go ice my back. Wow dude, I don't know how u didnt snap your back. U were just bowing down and up. I barely saw any bend of the knees, which means u didn't drop your ass. Not the right way but if it works for u, good luck!!
@6sway I was hinging at the hips which you might not be able to tell from the camera angle, so no, my back wasn't bowing during the lift. In fact, my back never even got fatigued doing this, my hamstrings and hands did.
@msfattytrollbitch - My main focus is grip strength, so I used the axle % double overhand grip in order to bring on the additional challenge. The only reason I even had to take breaks on this was my hands cramping up. I think at most I might need one break going double overhand on a normal bar and with an alternated grip, I am thinking I could get it without stopping or stopping just once. I need to do them though - just speculation right now. Long story short - the Grip Strength component.
nice man thats a brutal forearm workout... I did swings with a 45lb bumper plate this weekend for about 50 reps and mt forearms are torched give it a whirl

@strength75 Thanks. It probably wouldn't have crossed my mind if I hadn't seen it on Zach's channel. But like I told Mike above, I'm gonna try something that should be even harder this week.
That was nuts! I'm gonna show this to my training partner, he bites my head off when I use that kind of form. He's one of the deadlift nazis that squats down damn near 90 degrees before going up.
Is that just personal preference, or is it a tall guy/short guy thing, (I'm 6' 3" he's 5' 11")?
@kungfujellybean Deadlift form is to each his own. I am taller and bending the knees after the first rep just doesn't feel comfortable. My action is mostly at my hips, but I'm not rounding my back at all. My back stays straight or even lordotically curved. Give it a try.
@TJCombo67 Yeah, i don't do this kind of volume much. Most of my stuff is less than 6 reps, especially for deadlifts. Sometimes more but not very often.

-that looks like a really thick bar-how much does it weigh and what does he have on there?
089hlj 2 months ago
@089hlj It is 225 total. The bar is an axle and weighs 33-lbs.

You're rounding your back.. don't just yourself. get that butt down low and drive into your heels. Keep up the work!

Wow Jedd, I couldn't imagine 50 double overhand on the axle, I had to switch to mixed after rep 11. Respect!
