  • There are a lot of options pending on what is wrong.

Sometimes the ligament needs reconstruction, repair or plication (shortening)

the video is of a way to shorten the lose ligaments or capsule.

  • How exactly are the ligaments tightened for medial plication? Do you know if some surgeons use screws or drill holes through the kneecap to tighten the ligaments in an open incision surgery?

  • what is the probability of dislocation after the surgery? including rehab and proper treatment?

  • @TheCrimsonConspiracy - The odds are very low if done for the correct indications. There are many reasons for dislocations laxity on the medial side is one of them. There is patella alta (rare), mal-aligmnet of the tibial tubercle, congenital abnormalities, muscle imbalance and others. If the MPFL (medial patella femoral ligament) is torn than a reconstruction or repair may be needed.
