no you don't have to take piano lessons, but if you want to play in a band or something like that, then I suggest you take piano lessons, because it will be alot more difficult to learn all the stuff on your own....

Great vid, but please, work on some scales... you should NEVER have your thumb ABOVE your fingers in the right hand -- it will slow you down when playing more complex riffs. I would find ways to use your ring and pinky fingers more as you seem to avoid them. (BTW, been playing keys for about 15 years now).

word of advice: try experimenting with left hand placements as well as right hand, it will make progress faster and finger dexterity will grow in both hands, thats the key.
