To end this LONG LONG post, the only reason I stated what I stated is to inform people that Mariah did not start all of this playback stuff in the Butterfly era because her voice "sucked". First of all, Mariah gave very very very good performances in the Butterfly era (Make It Happen/VOL/My All in Sydney) and the tribute to Patty Labelle. The reason she didn't sound as good as before in the Butterfly era is probably becasue she had other things to do than be at sing sing and rest! <3 MC. peace.

In the BUTTERFLY era (which gets a lot of you know what), she was not in as good of vocal condition, but in her overseas performances, she used the same amount of playback/lipsyncing that she did in THIS era! It's just that it was WAY more noticable because it was not very similar to the real performances.
