when i fight him i was just lvl 88 and zidane with steiner to do some good damage the once stiener died i just use free energy over and over til ozma suddenly dies

the good trick if u cant solo him just bringh stiener the use shock break if stiener is not yet dead then zidane should go trance if ozma hits mini then use free energy if u have ultima weapon it should damage 9999 but if u use orichalcum for speed the use grand lethal or thievery if u already max its damage

Solo Ozma isn't that hard but if you want to steal all his items it gets ridiculously hard :3 I have 50 spirit + auto-regen and auto-potion(just to give regen time to heal) with Zidane and he is pretty much invincible if it weren't for Death... Auto-Life protects me once but after it's used I just can't survive another one.

Quale is WAY easier than Ozma. All you need is enough ailment protection skills (e.g. Loudmouth against Silence, Insomniac against Sleep) and Skill Stones.

thievery is a fixed damage attack meaning it's damage is not based on your attack or the enemies defense or magic defense but on something else ... thievery is calculated by

number of succesfull steals* zidane's speed/2 ..

meaning that in 556 succesful steels and 36 speed thievery does 9999 555 is not enough as 555*36/2 is 9990

in fact there is many "ultimate" attack :

-doomsday : elemental non-fixed damage (if used with armor that absorb dark of course ^^)

-shock : 3 times the damage a normal attack should do >>>> 9999 ^^

-thievery : great but long to build it up

-dragon crest : the best IMO, since it's easy to increase the damage

-limit glove : the best... in Low Level game but it sucks otherwise

-frog drop : again...great but damn too long !

So, by the end of the game almost everyone can do 9999 ;)

Ozma absorbs Shadow normally.

If you do the friendly monsters sidequest, that is changed to a weakness.

Ozma is the toughest boss I've ever fought in a Final Fantasy game.And that includes Ruby weapon and Neo Shinryu. I find it interesting you are soloin it. I had my guys at 82 and still had a hard time. One curse was all it took for him to wipe me out. Gratz on the win.

it's not fair ive got my final fantasy 9 working again but ive got a ogy file with my zidane at lvl 99 with all abilities and an ability to heal when attacking with a normal wepon nd i cant turn it off even thru abilities =(

The only thing levels do is raise your stats, HP and MP. I tried a level 99 and it seemed a little TOO easy... I fought her at level 84 and I only found out about what fighting all of the friendly monsters does.

Kudos on beating him! I beat him too but certainly not with Zidane alone! Great job! I want to try the Level 1 challenge to beat him next, then to beat him without using the controller. (a challenge where you set these abilities on Vivi and Amarant and you cannot touch the controller until the battle's ended!)
